I just did twenty, and it was the most productive thing I got out of today's productivity video binge. It's easy as a content creator to wonder if you can cause a positive change in people's lives, so there you have it, you did. I was tired and enjoying a drink after work, so it wouldn't have happened otherwise.
I'd also like to add that, just like you said, I'd already seen all the ideas that get floated around. I started the grind years ago, and it worked out for me. Life's gotten tougher again and I've gotten rusty; I lost some of the drive that I had once I saw things getting better across the board, so I'm revisiting this as a content type to remind myself that applying the principles is worth it.

      you lack discipline
Your scared of failure so you don't want to start
U don't have a goal...like something to chase, something to achieve.... your in ur comfort zone... when things start to heat up ... u'll find yourself taking first steps like it's nothing.

I think it really is crucial to know when to get up and take action - it's much easier to bask in your fantasy of self-improvement rather than actually making it. However, after about 9 months of massive improvement (after 1 month of watching these types of videos) I have been going downhill, slowly but surely, and it's terrifying.
I think that is because, as you said, the culture we live in is what determines our behaviour. The videos gave me just that - I spent long periods of time looking at and listening to the people I want to be like, so that mindset was normalised. But since I stopped watching them for a really long time, I can sense my will bending to the influence of those who are simply not on the same journey as me, because these are the people I spend my time with (although I have been making some wonderful friends because of my improvement).
This is why I think you, whoever is reading this, should really find a harmony between taking advice and taking action, even if you think you already have the knowledge. It can be books or podcasts too, but I feel like it's logical to target more senses at once.
It's not like chulde didn't say all this - I'm just emphasising the point, as I feel that this may bring upon my downfall and I don't want anyone else in this position. Of course, we all have different problems, so you must decide for yourself what's the right thing to do. And thanks for reading all this.

I love this message and it's a good reminder. I've seen a few people discuss the topic of the over-saturation of self--help videos, and you're totally right : DOING the work is the only thing that will progress you forward - not just consuming self-improvement content. BUT - I wouldn't have pulled myself out of such a dark place if it wasn't through self-improvement content / educational content. It's also better than filling your brain with senseless noise / entertainment.

The real question's is: What will the actions result in? Is it what your searching for?Is it what you Need? What will you learn? In what way will it matter? How did it change other people? Who are you doing it for? How will it change you? And Will it be worth the sacrifice's...? 👍

Yeeesss. For me the beauty and inspirational content was no different from TikTok scrolling, the motivation is still cheap dopamine I'm receiving.

I just realized this recently myself, so I am glad someone else noticed too and made a video for it. I've been watching self-improvement RUclips videos for years and not much has changed. They say 'Knowledge is Power' but I don't know if that's the case all the time. I think its just sound bytes, its better to read books, exercise, pray, get off RUclips, and live life.

I wached this video about 2 months ago, now i understand it, i started working out in my bedroom without knowing a thing about it and only now i am seeing videos actually helping me, like workout guides you're absolutely right, first you need to start, then you need to know and the last thing is just staying consistent

I hope I don't run into the self-improvement video crash. I think I've left the need for new information *at the moment,* because I've gotten to the point where I've cleaned my tornado victim of a room, began learning a high-income skill, have been reading books more often & taking notes, and actually structured my life according to what I've learned and taken in.
I feel like I suck at these steps, but taking an honest look at it, I'm just new to all this. And that means I suck exactly as much as I'm supposed to, and not more. Plans and action beat motivation any day, every day. Definitely glad this came up in my feed, it feels like I'm still going in the right direction for now.

Of course!!! I know that. Like I’ve said to my own kids, & has become THE watchword in the family, I don’t care what you know, I care what you do, as in “action”.
