      (This is going to sound like a dumb question.)
      But how can I be a good man if I'm not even sure about what it truly means to be a good man? I still feel like there's a lot of things I don't know.

    • @littlemisshowei

      @@lauriex8832Not OP, but my take on that is, if you're taking up time arguing what a good man should be then you already have a grasp of what it entails to be a good man. So instead of talking about it, BE it.
      Similarly, after watching a few videos on self-improvement you'd already have the basic tools and a good idea of what to do, so instead of falling into the procrastination trap of watching the videos and accumulating the theorical knowledge, take action and do it! (saying that as someone who's fallen into that trap).
      One could even argue that, depending on what you want to improve, you already kinda know what to do even without watching the videos. And watching the videos is a guilt free way of delaying action. Cause you've convinced yourself that you need to learn this or that before taking action.

      I just did twenty, and it was the most productive thing I got out of today's productivity video binge. It's easy as a content creator to wonder if you can cause a positive change in people's lives, so there you have it, you did. I was tired and enjoying a drink after work, so it wouldn't have happened otherwise.
      I'd also like to add that, just like you said, I'd already seen all the ideas that get floated around. I started the grind years ago, and it worked out for me. Life's gotten tougher again and I've gotten rusty; I lost some of the drive that I had once I saw things getting better across the board, so I'm revisiting this as a content type to remind myself that applying the principles is worth it.

    Your message is extremely powerful. Thank you for the video! I think that the majority of people struggle with “always improving” by staying in the comfort zone. This is the actual world we live in - with hundreds of thousands experts on social media, teaching us how to be more: Productive, Happier, Healthier etc. And I think we have separated so much from our own brains and hearts, that we All might need a big pause. In order to reconnect with ourselves. This starts to be more and more noticed - people do really wake up and start asking themselves such questions.

  • @LavaWander
    @LavaWander Год назад +7

    I think it really is crucial to know when to get up and take action - it's much easier to bask in your fantasy of self-improvement rather than actually making it. However, after about 9 months of massive improvement (after 1 month of watching these types of videos) I have been going downhill, slowly but surely, and it's terrifying.
    I think that is because, as you said, the culture we live in is what determines our behaviour. The videos gave me just that - I spent long periods of time looking at and listening to the people I want to be like, so that mindset was normalised. But since I stopped watching them for a really long time, I can sense my will bending to the influence of those who are simply not on the same journey as me, because these are the people I spend my time with (although I have been making some wonderful friends because of my improvement).
    This is why I think you, whoever is reading this, should really find a harmony between taking advice and taking action, even if you think you already have the knowledge. It can be books or podcasts too, but I feel like it's logical to target more senses at once.
    It's not like chulde didn't say all this - I'm just emphasising the point, as I feel that this may bring upon my downfall and I don't want anyone else in this position. Of course, we all have different problems, so you must decide for yourself what's the right thing to do. And thanks for reading all this.

    Self improvement is putting your life and emotions on the line. Then you feel the burn...and endure...till you get numb to it. Now that, my friends, is Self Improv.

    Crazy thing is I started procrastinating when I started watching self improvement videos. Before self improvement I just took action because I knew what I needed to do and now I am addicted to watching these self improvement videos. My life was 100 times more productive when Addison Rae was on my fyp and now I am just a lazy mf with all these self help gurus on my fyp.

      U seeking for motivation in the first place is a big step because it means you want to be a better person,after the daily dose of motivation u then find yourself procrastinating it means 3 things...
      you lack discipline
      Your scared of failure so you don't want to start
      U don't have a goal...like something to chase, something to achieve.... your in ur comfort zone... when things start to heat up ... u'll find yourself taking first steps like it's nothing.

Ever since, I have been stuck in this cycle and don't know wat to do or implement on my current life, but now when my vision is more clear thanks to you, I was able to escape from being hopeless and continue to watch the same topic over and over.

Bit by bit ill put effort and stay consistent; and yes ill give myself breaks, reminders and etc. Thank you for making this video, you've gotten a new subscriber. Im here to support as we all navigate our ways through this long-lasting journey of better ourselves. Thank you, Chulde.

    "I felt frustrated by this mistake. I watched some videos and told myself, 'I will start tomorrow.' However, when tomorrow came, I didn't take any action. I kept procrastinating, telling myself I would start the next day, but the cycle continued with the same result. Then, I came across your videos and told myself, 'Hey, stop that! It's time to take action.' I wouldn't have done it without your video, so thank you so much. You really helped me. ❤️"

    Many thanks for having the courage to shoot this video and sharing your thoughts. When I'm feeling good, energetic I can make it happen any action which were stated repeatedly in these videos (or how to do it) But when I'm not okay, these videos do not help. I just become a passive consumer and let all of these videos impress me for change, which does not happen that way. Deep inside we all know what is right and what is required from us for us. Many thanks 👏

    Last month I created a great habit: the 4th item in my Morning Plan is to "Health Bounce" on my Rebounder (mini trampoline) while listening to an Inspirational Message. Typically about 10 minutes. If it's a longer video, I listen in chunks.
    When I feel like scrolling, I select videos I want to watch then add to a specific RUclips playlist.

Obviously it will be much better if you start to take really actions and stop watching this videos because like you have said you already we have the information and useful knowledge so now we can start. I love this message and it's a good reminder. I've seen a few people discuss the topic of the over-saturation of self--help videos, and you're totally right : DOING the work is the only thing that will progress you forward - not just consuming self-improvement content. BUT - I wouldn't have pulled myself out of such a dark place if it wasn't through self-improvement content / educational content. It's also better than filling your brain with senseless noise / entertainment.
    To a certain extent - I think you're right. Doing the work is the answer.
    But at the same time - self improvement content is so incredibly helpful and valuable.

    • @chulde
      @chulde  9 месяцев назад +1

      yes! Self improvement videos itself aren’t rlly the issue, only when it’s overindulged

    • @tiffszo
      @tiffszo 9 месяцев назад

      @@chulde Yes - I see your point. BUT... this is me playing devil's advocate / saying another point of view in response: when I was in the dark place, I was "over indulging" on this self-help content because I needed to lift my vibration. My thought process behind it was that if I filled my thoughts with more positivity, that it would eventually boost me to make a change. What are your thoughts on this?
