He also spoke about it in a 2010 Spin interview with Soundgarden: "It was mentally, physically, and spiritually a fucked up point in my life. I was waking up and drinking a glass of vodka just to get a dial tone. My marriage wasn't working at all, and rather than face that, I turned to constant inebriation and then drugs." I myself have known drug addicts and very bad alcoholics. They usually have very little interest in food, and can become pretty thin and frail. It's sad and upsetting to see... but there isn't much you can do to help them. You can't stop someone from abusing them self. They have to make that decision on their own.

Part of Chris’s humor was full of sarcasm and it’s hilarious seeing him hold back trying to be nice when ppl have asked him a very stupid question. Like once someone asked him if Spoon Man was about drugs (SMH) and he said, No. They only had to watch the video or listen to the spoons being played.
That was clearly a joke because the interviewer said his lyrics were vulnerable ie.. a softer side. Chris said "well i'm bisexual now..." and you can hear him say 'just kidding' but the interviewer over talks it.
