Firing up the Flathead Ford

  • Over the past few months, we’ve been chipping away at this 1939 Ford to get it prepared to run. After properly setting it up on the stand, we inspected, cleaned, adjusted and rebuilt what was necessary to confidently fire it up. One large piece of the puzzle is set in place.

    Especially like the aircraft-style safety wiring you did on the flywheel. That's how I'm going to do my '47 59AB.

    what caused the hole in pan?

      I have no clue. I discovered it after shaving all the road grime off. Internals looked fine. For all I know, this pan could have come from a different engine.
