120-130 is what they want us to think , it's definitely more than 160 and a perfect counter to PL 15 and AMRAM'S

Absolutely, when they try to hide something like agni 5's actual range, you know it's very capable missile

Aim-260 has around 350km max range. They have created a new 400 km Aim-174 that is like American version of Russian R-37M

@@Master_champ_24 but they won't sell it to pak considering secrecy of missile and danger of tech falling in hands of china . Diplomatic relations also play huge role so it's almost impossible for them to have access of it

@@ancientwarrior2374 I'm not only concerned about our warfare with lunatics in Pak. Our Brahmos is enough to make 1,00,000 Pak soldiers to surrender. I'm more concerned about the dominance of Astra missiles in the global market. If we can come up with a missile that can compete with American and European made missiles, we can dominate the global defence market by establishing more supply chain across India and across globe to be a global supplier of arms. Being satisfied in picking fights with a beggar won't help our economy. Our main competition should be with the world's finest of missile makers.

Even Astra Mk1 give Tejas Mk1A the advantage vs the best Pakistani fighters and even against some of PLAAF's airplanes! The combination of the new AESA radar and long range AAM means first look first shoot can go to Tejas against majority of enemy aircraft. Not against the best of what the PLAAF has, but the majority of what PLAAF has is Su30 like planes. War is not won with 5th gen planes, since no air force even the richest has a lot of those. Majority of airplanes are obsolete 4th gen airplanes and against those like the F16, J10 and JF-17 Tejas is already superior.
War is decided by the majority not the minority! Anyway the PLAAF needs its best warplanes against USA's best, not against ours.
