Other than the constant sassing back at chat, I think what I'll miss most is your contagious laugh. Your positivity and sense of humor brought a light to quite a few dark days over the past 5 years and even though those dark days are behind me, people will always remember how you made them feel, myself included. This level is impressive, I don’t think any other level could’ve fit the finale that Geek and everyone else wanted. I’m so amazed by the team that made this level, and I’m super thankful to Shadekitty for allowing me to be a playtester for this epic goodbye to one of my favorite people ever, even though my own play through was, depressing to say the least 😂

For those wondering ダマスターズ is literally Da masterz in Japanese xD So I think it's just everyone, and not just an individual I think.

It's also a pun on the Japanese word 騙す, 'damasu', which means 'to trick' and troll courses are called 騙しコース in Japanese. Like a portmanteau of '騙す' and 'スターズ', so it's a bit like 'troll stars' as well.

@23:40 Nope, you got the first coin before hitting CP1. See @11:10. Then you enter the door which brings you to the room where CP1 is at. The first two coins are being collected off screen, which led to the key death @23:15.

Tried to keep track of red coin shenanigans, as after i saw a coin at CP1 i made a prediction about keydeath and at least 2 layers on CP1 and CP2 with max of 6 additional layers (granted, i did not account for switch states so it could've even been 12, ngl)
Anyways, now to count:
[keep in mind, that red coin BS, aka entity limit shenanigans, is based on amount of coins saved at specific CP, aka number of red coins you respawn with. Places where player collects coins were written as bonus and has no effect on layering]
1) Start - switch state 1
2) CP1 - 1 coin (was collected right after bomb explosion in room before), second coin when you throw a shell
3) CP2 - 2 coins, third coin is being forcefully collected when you respawn
4) Forced coin reset, CP1 and keydeath.
5) CP3/1 - 0 coins, one coin when you throw a shell.
6) Finish is shown but unachievable, forced knowledge CP, softlock
7) Forced restart - switch state 2 (due to knowledge CP)
8) CP4/1 - 2 coins (were collected when bomb explodes in room before), shell collects nothing.
Third coin is being collected when you jump on noteblock to get spikeball yo destroy hard ice block above pipe entrance 2 pipe transition before CP2. [And i complete missed that one when watched first time]
9) CP5/2 - 3 coins
10) Geek got into pipe before P-door. Small detour.
10) CP6/1 - 3 coins. Free recycle to CP5/2 with 3 coins, so i assume no layer was built here.
11) Finish from 9) CP5/2 - 3 coins.
So... Tbh I did expect CP1 layers with 0/1/2/3 coins, while in the end they were accounted for 0/1/2s (s=switch state due to knowledge CP). 3 coins had same layering as 2s.
CP2 had layers of 2 and 3 coins. Ngl i expected 0 coins to be here (keydeath) as well (and 1 coin, but that one was hardly likely)
Still very nice layering going on here. Noticeable, but pretty smooth and pretty much linear.

The first checkpoint has 2 pink coins directly after (both offscreen to the right), while the second checkpoint just has the one under it that's visible. The states are based on the coins that are there at each checkpoint. I think a common misconception is that pink coin states depend on the absolute number of coins collected, but each entity limit state trigger is only dependent on whether the respective coin or coins are there or not.

I guessed so much myself, and i do know that red coin layering requires "number of saved coins" at CP, not just number of coins you had.
[But i assume what you also meant, is that entity limit shenanigans will work only with coins that are within loading range of checkpoint? If so then yeah, i may have expected more layers than i should've after seeing red coin at CP2]
I wrote both number of coins player saved on CP, and coins they collected (and where) just so people got an understanding where these coins came from, as only 3-rd and 4-th coin were placed in visible to player places, and 4-th coin is only accessible at keydeath room.
But i am wondering. It seems like you collect one or two coins from CP1 during bomb explosion before CP1. How was it organised? Just switch state blocking one of the coins, i assume, but then how does it collect two coins with such small interval with different switch state?
And then you somehow collect third coin which originally was placed right under CP2 (it should be this one as you cannot keydie after CP2 later) during spikeball jump. What interactable item you kept above character head to collect this coin? (I assume there was hidden claw above noteblock or something like that?)
Not gonna lie. I don't even play Mario Maker... Heck, i don't even have Switch. But i do enjoy your work very much, and despite all those incredible contraptions, i at least take red coin layering as a personal puzzle to unwrap when i watch someone playing) Thanks for that incredible collab with japanese troll creators. It was a cherry on a cake of Geek's retirement.

For a few frames while a pink coin is being collected, it counts as an extra entity. Something can be timed to activate a block with an item in it at the same time, and if the entity limit is at 99/100, the presence of the coin determines whether that block can spawn something. Pink coins are always loaded regardless of how far away they are, but they only count as an entity towards the relevant limit while they are being collected. To answer your other question, all the coins that get collected offscreen prior to both checkpoints at various parts of the level are collected using teleporting shells. You may notice the two sections at which the player throws a shell and then progresses through the section. Those shells are being kept in place by conveyors. When the scroll stop at the end breaks, a teleportation setup loads in, and the shells teleport and are able hit blocks below the pink coins in order to collect them. The CP2 version of the setup is easy to see. (This is why there is a random coin block below the CP2 coin: so a teleporting shell can hit it XD)
@@shadekitty139 oh right. I forgot about broken track teleportation... I do remember there being a level in which shell safekeeping and utilization setup was showcased, so i understand that part more or less.

Also... So, red coins by themselves are not accounted an entity? As i understood only while you collecting them, they become an entity for very short time before disappearing, meaning that setup can only work:
1) with coins that you forced to collect
2) must be very precise in doing something at same moment it collects coin
Then how did that ÆtherPi level worked (Yeenis journey) i assumed before that number of switch state changes just was equal to amount of coins collected. Hmmm... Wait... Unless... fact of collecting a coin stopped bomb from spawning. Oh, i see now... Then holy crap, his setup was even more ingenius than i thought it to be. How did he even time that?!
And again, congratulations. This level must've took forever to make fit and debug. Red coin entity limit with broken track teleportation is not an easy combination to work on.

So…Geek, if you’re still reading these,(and reading new edits?) it was weird with the twitch streams, I would get this weird shyness that I sometimes have on Twitch, (new community I guess) and I never really got out a message to your eyes that I was a subscriber (recent, but long-ish-time watcher) here, and I had only been there like once before; (I guess it’s possible you remembered me from yt though) but I just did what I usually do on Twitch, just jumping right in and joining conversations; sometimes feeling like an unseen ninja, but at the same time being more social than in real life 😅
I wanted to be there for the last months since I heard you were retiring; I knew it wouldn’t suck too much time from my life at that point😜
So one thing I’ll leave you with: I’ve been clicking on all these steamed hams (Simpsons) videos recently, and the last one I saw was a Steamed Hams Z one(the channel Fixed Fun), and I realized your two things (besides LubeMobile I guess 😄) were The Simpsons and Anime, so thought you’d like that🙂

The default flying machine setup that's used happens to have a speed that just works; the timing of when it starts moving was the tricky part.
