A mosfet does not have a linear relationship between input and output voltage, as the voltage controls current, not voltage, therefore, you cannot use it as an amplifier without feedback otherwise you will just get distorted audio on the output(it may sound OK in some cases, but it's distorted).
If you look closely at the circuit, the mosfet is being used as a source follower. The gate threshold voltage is roughly 1/4 the supply voltage, so the source/drain voltage is about 1/2 the supply voltage. The speaker is continuously acting as a source follower resistor, with a voltage drop of the 'other' half of the supply voltage. This amplifier has no gain, it's just an impedance matching amplifier. Though there is always direct current going through the voice coil of the speaker, The source signal exactly matches the gate signal, this is a VERY high fidelity amplifier, though not very powerful, and with no amplitude gain, but lots of current gain. For higher source impedance, the resistor placed between the gate and the drain can be virtually any value, even up as high as 100 K Ohms. The power is limited to the ability of the speaker coil to withstand constant DC current.

One demo was I had an oscilloscope on the lowest-voltage setting with the probe attached. i then stuck my finger in an outlet using a metal screwdriver and brought my other hand close to the scope. You could see the 60 Hz waveform develop on the scope. In another demo, I set up small mirrors in a box. I had a LASER pointer aimed at the first mirror. I then blew cigarette smoke over the mirrors. You could see the LASER beam bouncing all around the mirrors. In another demo, I took magnesium metal and lit it on fire with a lighter. It burned as bright as a welding gun. I also like to throw sodium metal into water.

It's my favorite too. Finding the mosfet's is easy enough, winding the coil is simple, capacitors are readily available, you can find resistors anywhere.(salvage from old amplifiers, same with capacitors) The difficult things are the ultra fast recovery high voltage diodes. Those, you will have to order on line.
I have seen emergency light with guard cfl tube. Please make video on this topic but i request you not to use cfl tube but any watt led bulb . Thanks in advance.
Those Chinese resistors are labeled funny! I bought a bunch of them of different values. The 22ohm was labled brown black red red. I check them with meter to be sure.

MOSFET means Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field effect Transistor. Interestingly, on some aspects, it resembles the age old Vacuum Tubes.
You know I never thought about it but your right. I'm curious if vacuum tubes and mosfets can be measured using similar metrics.

Ugsmax=10V for this transistor. Here we have Ugs=11,6V so this circuit damages the transistors. 330ohm is too less....
