I am working on clearing some property and filling in a pond so that I can bring in some logs like that and maybe even someday have a processor. Great video!
Yessir these small hiccups definitely cost a little time but I think you’ll make it up quick, if that electrical issue is solved…but like others have said, if some one could load the deck for you..the logs would fly. Great job 👍
I don’t know about you guys, but here in Oregon bar oil is insanely expensive now. What used to cost $5/gallon is now 13-17. Luckily I followed Chris’s input and looked to the east coast farm fleet stores for the mystik oil he runs. I can get it $7-8/gallon shipped free if I buy 12+ at a time
I may hit some nerves here with this comment. We use used motor oil in all saws and in our processor. I have been doing this for as long as I can remember and I am 47.
@@mjcontractorsllcI would imagine in a processor it wouldn’t be as big of a deal as the spray is going to be localized. I know shops frown on it when you drop off a saw that’s leaking non tacky used oil all over. Plus it’s prob a different ordeal about worrying about clogging or breaking your saws oiler. Is a processor just a simple filter coming off the tank with gravity feed? He did mention grabbing a gallon or two so I would assume he’s buying bar oil
@@carl27890our Dyna sc 16 has a hydraulic powered diaphragm pump that pumps bar oil to the chain. Small dialer device on console to control the flow. Don’t know how many gallons of motor oil we ran through it by now. Far as chain saw shop not liking bar oil I can’t answer that. Only time I go there is to buy a saw and or stock up on new bars and 25 chains. We do our own work on bars, chainsaw sharpening etc. I know the internet is ablaze with the bar oil topic. But each to their own. We have heavy equipment and my shop is always overwhelmed with motor oil. All chains saws are gobbling it up over here
Phil, Definitely see the advantage of the choice to rent the processor for 3 days. Lessons learned and I am glade to read in the previous comments that you plan on doing this again. Makes a lot of split wood fast which frees up the wood lot for more loads. Add a 2nd person for loading the log deck and those log plies will be gone real fast. The electrical issue I am sure has been worked out. 👍🏻👍🏻 I can sense a processor is in the near future, maybe a EastonMade Evo? Fits the size of logs you have as well as production needs. 👍🏻👍🏻
As far as I know there isn't any kind of safety like that on this machine. It was definitely and electrical issue - it's been addressed and I'll update again in the next video. Thanks for watching.

This is the way to go. No comparison to cutting by hand. I'll continue to rent one, until I own one!
@@WoodsTreeFarm I really like that Japa that Ohio Wood Burner (Joe) uses with the perfect split! But any processor would decrease to fatigue!

hi there well done john
When talking cords you mean face cord or full cords?
Full cord
Looks like 2 guys would be ideal to run a processor. Nice video.

Did you bump a emergency stop switch on the panel ? , that would kill it dead in the water for starting back up ?

How much is the rental Phil. More curious than anything. Straight trees in Nebraska are like the easter bunny. Lol. Take care.
$475/day
Hopefully they get you back up and running!
... thats a pretty good sized processor so once its up and going will be nice ..!
Disappointing about the electrical problem, but I guess that will happen 😕 It looks like your making good progress. Good staging 👍
