Here's a tip for you, you can bake bread in the furnce by placeing seed's,plantfiber and leavening agent you dont need any recipe
I have a tip for you about torches. Add a reinforcement to it.
A normal torch will last for 20 mins.
Iron - Simple reinforcement = 1hr. 20 mins.
Steel - Reinforcement = 2hr. 20 mins.
Hardened steel - Advanced reinforcement = 3hr. 20 mins.

A bit of an exploit, you can place a chair underwater near the brimstone. Setting in it will replenish your stamina completely allowing you to continue harvesting. This used to also replenish air or even remove the air meter, that has been patched though.
That "half stack" trick just changed the game for me. Thank you!!!

Just a note on the pack mule thrall, don't use horizontal elevators they will despawn everytime out of range(lost 2 already )
They probably just teleport to someplace stupid. I have some friends that thought they lost a few then they found them again later.
That thrall glitch is amazing
You can use the bag moving thing to drop heavy stuff and move it.
I usually get Brimstone from Sinner's Refuge, a cave filled with it. Also got plenty of potential thralls :P Its fairly close to where you begin (compared to other places)
you get more from the shattered springs, you don't have to fight the rocknoses in the spring, you can just keep running past them, you have to fight the occupants of the cave to get any mining done. Also the shattered springs is right next to an obelisk, so you can port in grab brimstone and go. Usually people build public map rooms near the obelisk, so getting out again is easy.
(1) It is extremely hard to mine brimstone underwater with a pick or pickax due to stamina use. Swimming normally uses a fair amount of stamina and just getting to the brimstone can drain people, especially at lower levels. I noticed your stamina was not moving at all while swimming. My guess is that you had adjusted the stamina use to be much lower than what is normal for most servers.
(2) The sandstorm mask requires steel, which requires brimstone to make. My trick to obtain it BEFORE having mined enough brimstone to make the mask is to take along one's favorite healing item (food, bandages, or potions) run into the poison area, knock as many of those slat rocks down as I can before I need to heal or die, and run back out. OR, if on a no-drop on death server, bring a bed roll, and mine until you die, and respawn at your bedroll just outside the poison area. I prefer the former method, myself.
(3) Interesting. I did not know that trick about the bags. I've used another trick (when building near water) of jsut dropping unneeded items into the water. I don;t know why it happens, but this tends to cause them to despawn faster.
(4) I never noticed that bit about doors causing the sheltered buff to loos some percentages. However, I have made builds in ruins and caves that do not always get full protection in all areas (Funcom really needs to fix it so being in a cave or inside a ruin or building next to/in a ruin and suing the 'native' material to count as structure, but that is another gripe). Something I have done to set a visual reminder for where the incomplete coverage spots are is to use the red Stygian carpet/rug. Red is a standard code for danger in a lot of cultures, which makes it easy to remember for both myself, and guests that might be visiting.
(5) *blinks* I did not know that about the ice, either. I will need to remember that. Typically, I get ice when looking for black ice, as there will always be a small amount harvested from those nodes.
(6) using a pickax will work on plants, but it is not nearly as effective as using a sickle. My tip, use the right tool for the job. Pickax for wood and stone (or anything that requires mining), sickle for all plants, skinning knife on people/animals if you want skins, and a cleaver on those you want meat from (a hatchet will work for the latter, if one is too low to make a cleaver, but the cleaver is more effective if one can obtain one.)
(6) The thrall carry trick DID blow my mind. I wonder if it works with mounts and pets, too... Now there are bearer thralls also. I am wondering if FC may have patched this, considering this video is nearly 2 years old. It bears testing.

little late but you can loot a couple hundred steel bars and thick leather from chests in Sepermeru, most of them are on rooftops.

FireSpark81 - Here are two tips (or one...depending on how you look at it) Gas bombs are some of the best ways to clear out thralls without engaging them, especially if you are attacking a base from above. The best way to stop this from happening is to equip your thrall with a sandstorm mask.
That stack tip is brilliant.
Those things underwater for sulfur look like hydrothermal vents, hence why they bubble and you can see them and they produce those long stalagmites from the hot debris that comes out of them. Kinda makes sense in a way, as volcanoes are known for producing sulfuric gas :D
That bag moving would enable moving large amounts of resources without be encumbered.
@DOSKIIE daggers, and ctrl leap backwards. Rolling is much much slower.
Your last tip works for chests as well. So you can put more stuff in each chest. Split in half add somthing different repeat
Haven't tried it with a chest - will do that later.

Just a little message to say that the "glowing goop" tip works also on crimson lotus at mounds of the dead ^^
You were really filling up that thrall with your goop.
The last one I found out to just see, but didnt know about the trick to make them carry a LOT more.
This was useful, I have been getting griefed with gas orbs... I'll be making a sandstorm mask.
I'd also recommend putting the sandstorm mask on any and all of your combat thralls as well so they don't get gassed out too
The bag tip is useful for when you have too many resources from mining nearby base. I use it to transport large amounts of mats to base at once, also for item transfering to different chests

That's not true. This game is not complete it has about 60% of the features promised.
@@Firespark81 true there is still some bugs but I love how they added in taming animals.. and also made your thrall AI alot better.
Those thralls work basically how one would expect bearer thralls to work.
Good general tips, one and all...…… Only one I see that you didn't mention that I am amazed a lot of people still don't know about is that's really useful is; Using Axe to pick up sticks, and even bend down [crouch] and hit sticks.

Using an axe to harvest silk cocoons, vulture nests, sticks, and fat grubs yields more than gathering by hand.

Using a tool always gives more than picking up by hand. If you're usnsure use the logical choice. Hatchet for sticks, for example. If the logical choice doesn't work, use a pick.
This games brutal, i love it
If you can’t use a pick on something, like (puffball mushrooms) and small off cuts of crystal... try swinging your pick and pressing the crouch button to get those hard to reach resources 💪
It has been a few months since I last tested it for pc. But, there is a way to cause thralls to float in the air. The trick is to station them on top of a built structure, such as a few stacked foundations, and naturally destroy the structure. (Don’t use demolish, have them break from attacks) Doesn’t Always Work! Does most of the time.
Something I found this to be particularly helpful for is farming dragons or bosses. A bunch of floating out of harms way poison arrow archers makes things easier when killing hard mobs.

Great vid, use skinning knifes on bushes and you just get insects and a sickle on a bird carcass and you just get feathers.

The godsplitter helmet or what it's called claims to also work as gas mask

so i have a Lian and i can use him as a mule to mule like my army of Lians? Then i can grab the Lians out of Lian to have an army of Lians at a base...hmm. I have a base located near Lian spawn.

I played for the first time yesterday, I still don't know what i'm doing but i ran into that half-stack trick by accident using a wooden box i put in my hut. So I assume the glitch works with anything that has its own inventory!
So far its worked for me in furnaces, cheats, stoves, campfires, carpenter's benches, drying racks, fluid press, tannery, and fermentation barrel. Probably works with everything lol

@Firespark81 a tip I would like to share. You know your favorite moded starmetal pickaxe? You can have your thrall go to town with it wearing the Nemedian helm.... Voila, new pick ... Works with all tools :). Cheers

1:45 the large part that falls not only the base will give you more brim Stone!
Even without exploits, the Bearer thrall has 20 slots.
aaaand then the thrall glitches off a cliff and falls under the map. I would not recommend using thralls as a carry mules.
I've been using it for the last month. I can tell you that if you tp whether using a map room or a command. The thrall with tp along with you. So even if he glitches out and fall trough the world, he's gonn get further than that max range he can be from you and tp back by your side.
unless I am missing something the stack tip kind of makes bearers completely pointless

If the games lets you do it, its fair. If they don't want you doing it they need to patch it. Also how do you know the pick and the goop is meant to be a thing?
FireSpark81 that’s not entirely true. If they wanted to ban for exploitation then they have every right. It’s like blizzard banning people for knowingly or even unknowingly exploiting in WoW. Just cuz you can do it doesn’t mean you should. Something tells me tho the developers banning people isn’t a priority, they need all the players they can get so exploit away.

Thanks for these tips. It sounds like some may have been patched but still great stuff that I didn't know. Even the bag sweeping tip was nice for those of us that like a tidy home and don't want to wait for the bags of course armor to disappear on their own.
