The cutest little fruit roll ups I’ve ever seen 🥹
The easiest carnivorous plant to care for in my opinion is the Drosera! It does not require a dormancy period and if feeds itself! Even when you don’t think it does, oh it’ll catch something.
Reminders! No potting soil, you’ll need a pest moss mix or sphagnum moss mix for these. No fertilizing or tap water, it’ll burn the roots! Give plenty of sun! If you keep indoors, a bright sunny windowsill or rihht under a growth light works best.
Have I convinced you to give a carnivorous plant a try yet?
Sundew are my favorite! If my kitchen gets gnats i just move it for a day and problem solved 😋 so proud when she caught a mosquito!
I love your channel!! I have a Dracena plant currently that I rescued last year and it's gotten so tall. However the leaves from the bottom up started really browning from the tips.
I repotted thinking it was is too big of a home. But I don't think it's helped. It's getting worse.
Any suggestions?
Yes, I’ve just ordered one. They’re so cute 😍
I've walked past the sad walmart plants a dozen time but I opened a bag of dirt with gnats so now it's looking like a fun option. Thanks to your great channel I bought an orchid too, little water baby
If my fungus gnats flare back up I'll convince my hubby that this is an essential addition to our plant family.
Yes!! I had a fungas gnat problem and bought one, TINY sundew. All the gnats had been caught in a couple of weeks and I've never had them since!
Omg It’s beautiful, Ive never heard of this plant before!
Saw it for the first time on a funny video. Sundew is super cool, loads of carnivorous plants are. Sundew, venus flytraps, pitcher plants. They're so cool and useful
I learned about them from a book about dragons murdering eachother
Do you keep yours in a greenhouse cabinet? I just got 7 of these that are tiny babies and I do have a Milsbo tall with great circulation, high humidity, good air flow... And FUNGUS GNATS 🫠🆘
girl I NEED this I just discovered my pothos is FILLED with fungus gnats and this whole time I thought it was my bonsai and now I feel like I’ll never get rid of them 😭
Make a tea with mosquito bits and water your plants with it once a week until they're gone. (I put the mosquito bits in a coffee filter and tie it into a little packet with a rubberband and plop that right into a watering can.) You'll have adults still for 2-3 weeks, but it kills all of the larvae!
@@LivetolearnMama Thank you!!! what exactly are mosquito bits?
Neem oil spray, you can get it at any local hardware or greenhouse it works amazing. I also once had them bad when I brought all my plants back in at the end of the summer I used little baby food jars with vinegar soap and they went into and drown.. They also sell these little sticker on a stick type things for your plants to catch them it works great as well.
@@hpfav101 It's a product that has a type of bacteria called Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis serotype israelensis) that releases a toxin that very specifically kills mosquitos and gnats. It's completely safe for mammals, birds, and bees.
@@QueenMotherTroll I have those sticker things! It’s worked but barely, but that was also bc I had them in the wrong plant. Now that I discovered it’s all in my pothos, I just put one there as well last week & I was just hoping to see a lot more stuck to it by now :/
Omggg!!! I love all the different varieties in species of plants you show us, you’re one of my top comfort channels to watch content from 🥹💚🌱
wow krystal, its unbelivable how much you have taught me. ty for everything you do!
So happy I could teach 🥹💚 thank you for being here!
@@PlantswithKrystal np, always coming home from school to watch you! 🪴😘
After watching this the first time. I went and bought a Venus fly trap. It would not eat. I found it flying insects and put them in the open petals and it would not close it so it did not get those nutrients so I gave it a little it of water w a bit of miracle grow, but it died anyway. So now I just admire yours. And your talent and education of all plants. Thank s anyway.
you should try again, with the right info theyre very easy to take care of!
if you do get another, never use miracle gro as they live in nutrient poor soil and most fertilisers will kill the plant, also make sure youre using the correct water (i personally use rain water) distilled water, rain water or reverse osmosis water will work as the majority of carnivorous plants need soft water under 50ppm. theres lots of good videos on youtube for more indepth care but this is just the basic stuff
Note that leaves that don't close are usually a sign of stress for the plant - let the plant acclimate to plenty of light and the old leaves will shed and be replaced by newer leaves that will open and close.
@@adityaprabhu6 thanks I will try that if I ever get another Venus.
“And that’s me thinking I don’t have fungus gnats in this house”😂
This video was the last push I needed to buy a drosera. I've had fungus gnat issues off and on for a couple years, and I was tired of spending money on items and supplies to deal with the the problem temporarily or that just lessen the issue. I wanted gnat MURDER. So I bought a beautiful red drosera online and have had it almost a week now. I'm happy to not only have a new plant, but also a gnat-killing machine that I can have around for years to come. 💚
I love mine! It's still a baby but it's caught quite a few fruit flies already! ❤
The best part is you can propagate new droseras from their seeds super easily and they're super hard to kill :)
Can you do a video on different kinds of grow lights? I've been struggling
Ohhhh, it's so cute! I've got a little fungus gnat problem that is currently being treated. I went to clean out my air purifier today, and to my surprise, it was fulllll of dead fungus gnats. I put a smaller tabletop purifier next to the plants I'm having trouble with, and it just started sucking those gnats right in. 😂 I'm always looking for different ways to get rid of those things!
Omg i need one of these, fungus gnats piss me off so bad!
Awesome yours is flowering. They flower like crazy, I purchased I think like 5 drosera from someone on eBay. When they arrived it was actually 9 plants(some were really small but still plants none the less). They are all adults now and since I've gotten them I've seen about a dozen flower spikes, some have flowered twice already. I already have more seeds than I need from just the first 3 that flowered lol I'll probably start cutting them off to give the energy to the rest of the plant.
What seller did you use? I'm always nervous on ebay with plants and who to trust.
@@QueenMotherTroll sellers name was Westerncarnivores . He was great, he was running a really good sale on drosera, I think it was $12 shipping but $1 per plant and he said he could fit 5 plants per box so it was like $17 for 5 plants, but ended up getting like 9, some were small but they all grew to adults already.
Beautiful carnivorous plant!! 😍
OMG I didn't know that I could keep one of these I'm so excited QwQ
❤❤
I need this in my life.
This video was so refreshing I subbed immediately
I love sundew, after finding a huge patch of WILD growing sundew in an outdoor Pew-pew range in central Florida, believe it or not! It was in a boggy spot in full Sun, near a drainage pond… literally hundreds. Blew my mind!
Omg she's so beautiful and helpful at the same time ❤
It's so pretty! 😍
Oh.. Thank you for sharing
This is so cool
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE !!
The fruit roll up is so accurate but also the cutest description

Amazing! ❤
Gawd I want one of these so bad, when spring and summer kick off.
Omggg I need ittttttt. so cuteee!
Oohhh so unique looking!!!
I found a local plant shop yesterday 😍😍 They have some gorgeous pitcher plants and I thought of you, bestie!
Drosera capenis is definitely my favorite of the drosera genus :)), they're so pretty
This is gorgeous!! Have you heard of bear paw cactus? I just learned about them. So cute!
Yes! I love them so much!
Oooo that’s so cool, I need one.
So cool! They grow wild around my camp, I always wanted to grab some and grow at home. Now I know what it is! 😃😃
Sooo cuttee 😍😍😍😍😍

Yay! Thank you! I am so grateful!
Man plants are cool
Thanks for sharing this ☮️💜
The plants appreciated this
This is so beautiful
So....a while ago I bought a Drosera. A slightly different one from yours but it's still cute. I bought distilled water, new soil for carnivorous plants (don't know why I did that xD) and a cover pot + plate for the water. It caught SO many gnats...it was unbelievable! But suddenly all leaves turned brown and when I took a closer look, I saw them: lice! I was devastated because a friend told me that lice were the end for their Drosera 😢. I brushed off the lice with a soft paint brush and dipped my Drosera head first into warm water with dish soap (that's what I read online). I left it outside in the sun and waited. A few days ago I decided to remove all the dead leaves. There is still some green and I don't see any living lice so...I hope I can rescue my little buddy ❤️🩹
This is now my favorite plant
I'm in need of this. Gonna look into it for NYC Apartment.
Awesome! They’re awesome to have.
AMAZING!
I had toddlers pull apart the pot that was connected to my avocado tree, any tips on what to do?
I just got one and I love it
MY FAV PLANT EVER
so beautiful😍
Can we please see more of this, my sundew is out of its dormant phase but still hasn't perked up the way yours has and it hasn't produced much dew. Also for some reason it doesnt like being outside, reckon I put it out too soon, it was cold and it didnt do well, it's still growing but I'm not sure if I'm taking proper care of it
As of right now I have no problem keeping nepenthes or utricularia or even your typical venus flytrap and sarracenia but for some reason sundews don't last very long under my care
Are these generally considered safe to handle for prolonged periods? Just curious 😊 Fascinating plant!
Going to try keeping one by my compost bin, a cloud of fungus gnats always come out if anything disturbs it, so I think it’ll make a great feeding spot
I just recently started to get some fungus gnats and I’m terrified I’ll get a full outbreak. I need to find one of these
My N. Ventrata is doing work on my gnats too. It’s gotten a few in a couple pitchers but this would be great too.
I have a new dream plant
Sis got a perfect fly control system
i need one of these!
I have one on each of my plant shelves!
When she touches the dew: "I should call her." Lol
😂😂😂😂
I never seen this plant and that cool it super sticky I love that I need that qwq
That’s the healthiest sundew I’ve ever seen
I want one!
I would roam around in my rooms with the plant holding to catch all the mosquitoes 😅
Sundew don went wild without Willow ain’t no way 💀
Omg it's so cute and scary I need 😭 ❤
I love it so much!!!
¡Qué planta más drosera!
I live where there are Pine Savannah, and on a class trip we saw lots of tiny, baby sundew aswell as wild pitcher plants. It was very cool!
That’s amazing! They are so cool!
I have 2 of those and I’m testing out what one will grow better one inside and one outside
I need this in my house and under my outdoor steps.
I live in a very dry climate - including inside the house. Would I be able to cover over the distilled water pool to reduce evaporation, or could that lead to other issues?
Great, another one I want.😂
In the summer I can really use a plant like this. Can I keep a drosera happy if it sits in a sunny spot in my kitchen where all the gnats like to hang out? Does it require a grow light?
I neeeeed it!
Where did you get the grow light?
It works !
That thumbnail though, 😆
Me having pet hair everywhere being too afraid to have this plant lmao
This sundew very stiky from fungus sundew very cute sundew/drosera
I recently got a fruit fly problem (idk how I washed all the fruit twice and take the trash out daily 🤷🏻♀️) and I have been looking for one of these plants!
Where did you buy yours?
Worst fungus gnats infestation I've ever had. I've tried stickers, drying up my poor plants, neem oil, nettle spray. Nothing. Then you post this video. I tell myself, I have to buy one.
After a couple of days I go to the garden centre to get flowers, since it's finally ✨spring✨, sure they wouldn't have the one carnivorous plant I want BUT guess WHAT, they had them on CLEARANCE and they were HEALTHY. So I took it as a sign of the destiny and got two.
Please more videos about this plant 😫🫶
❤
I've found that sundews look nicer indoors bc outside they become SATURATED with gnats. They just need some sunlight and BRIGHT artificial light to keep those nice red colors.
Edit: However in order to bloom they do actually like a nice temperature drop. So if you want flowers you can just pop them outside for a bit when the weather cools in autumn or winter, depending on your region.
Where did you get your soil scoop from? (The green one)
I just got my first drosera, in total I now have ten carnivorus plants in total😊
Nature is truly amazing. This plant looks like something from alien planet.
Heck I think I have fungus gnats, my unknown "easy to grow" ficus died recently and now my yucca is looking kinda sad. Gonna try to save my yucca via replanting and soapy baths since those supposedly kill bugs
