I got my first and only Thai constellation from plant store at a local plants stores Purge recently. I put it in hydroton with moss on top and hovered over it the last 2 months of Summer. it's shooting out roots all over 😊. I am an old-school plant guy.I do have to admit that I've become a bit obsessed with clear pots, Deli containers or whatever. I use cover pots, but I love being able to see that the roots are doing well.❤
Currently struggling with root rot on my baby Thai con. It’s so motivating and helpful to see how yours has bounced back numerous times and that it is thriving now! I lost all my roots and only have one node left. I tried perlite but ultimately decided that water propagation is best until I have more roots. After that I think I’ll either go semi-hydro with perlite or leca!
Such a beautiful plant 😍😍 I was finally able to get my hands on a Thai con at a reasonable price but it rotted within a week. I’m so sad but I’ll try again soon
Gorgeous Thai Constellation been thinking of getting one. With Monstera I don’t like the crazy aerial roots. So i would chop them or bury into the soil if they aren’t that long and chunky looking. I think prices are starting to go down.
My baby thai con has completely rotted twice, lost two leaves, and pushed one out. I am finally getting roots back from it's last rotting incident but it's been a STRUGGLE. Thanks for being relatable :')
Hi fern!! Great video, ive been bingong your thai con playlist. I never thought id find a thai con in my budget, but found someone local selling babies for very cheap. I hope mine looks as beautiful as yours one day!
Hi fern, you don't know one thing and that is you made me buy monstera thai constellation.though i totally risked cause could not afford so much money,i bought a chopper mother plant with dried torn one leaf and now it looks great now, beyond my imagination.
Like root rot, but caused from underwatering/getting too dry. The roots basically shrivel up and die. Most of my plants that have rotted have suffered from dry rot rather than traditional root rot from overwatering.
I just rewatched your Thai Con Playlist videos, and all I can say is wow, wow, wow. First of all, you have the patience of a Saint. But more importantly, you NEVER gave up on her, and she's thanking you in droves!!! Keep up the amazing work Fern, you are an inspiration to all of us!!!
Idk why I love repotting plants/ watching people repot them. It’s just so nice seeing how the roots have grown, seeing them in the new pot, it’s just a nice experience. I know a lot of people don’t like repotting but I love it.💚
1.) GORGEOUS lighting/camera situation on this video! 2.) Such a satisfying up-pot to watch! 3.) Congrats on keeping such a happy, healthy Thai Con! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
It’s crazy because I believe I got my Thai a couple months before you and I was going crazy looking for videos on it. And that’s actually how I eventually followed your channel. My Thai just unfurled a new leaf with 8 inner fenestration holes and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her! They are truly gorgeous and maybe old news to some but I still get excited every time I get see a new leaf pushing through!
Hi Fern I have been putting off repotting mine but watching you inspired me to get to it! I wasn’t sure what soil to use I was going to use #3 perlite , potting mix , and some orchid bark but now I may get what you just used..!love your channel content…. oh and Olive too❤
Fern! I love your channel but I officially HATE that plant! I am on Thai number three and again it is starting to decline. Put the plant in the move and ignore it.
I am so glad I bought mine BIG, after watching your video. It only has 5 leaves, but they are 60 cm and the stem is 5,5 cm thick. So basically I did spend € 42,-/year to get where you are, lol
Aaaaahhh this makes me so happy, can't imagine how happy this plant makes you now. All your TLC and patience finally paid off. It looks SO cute in the pot too
Hi am back 😃 so I watched your videos on your journey with the thia consolation your homemade soil de Grote black pearl I could not find that but I found something else that’s more sandy not chunky cause I think that’s the key 🔑 once you use that it seems that the 🌱 took off and started maturing and striving
Hi fern!!! So I’ve been watching back on some of your videos about the Thai Con because I got one as a surprise for Christmas! I’m really nervous to have such an expensive plant and I wanna make sure I take great care of it! What potting medium would be best for a baby plant? I usually use a good soil mix with perlite and orchid bark so it’s pretty chunky and most my plants are thriving but I’m trying to avoid root rot as much as possible. I’ve just never used perlite alone or Leca so I’m unsure! Thanks for any input!!!
Hello from Sweden! I just wanted to tell you that i looove your channel! I really got in to houseplants a few years ago and you are a big inspiration to me! Looking forward for your spooky repot🕯👻👻
I don’t like the drainage in those attached saucer pots. I would have gone with the clear pot but I’m not an expert. When I outgrow the clear pots I’m going to go to large nursery pots with tons of drainage with nickel size holes. Good, luck.
When I have a garden plant that’s stuck in a pot I find rolling it on it’s side with some pressure helps with loosening. For one that size, leaf shape, etc - maybe on the edge of the table so the leaves are hanging in the air and the pot is on the table? Or netting it first? Haven’t tried something with that leaf structure
I finally bought a highly variegated Thai con. I’m waiting for it to ship. So stoked. Yours is lovely! Maybe I’ll chop mine up and grow two plants in one pot. It just looks so nice and full. Plus, there’s nothing better than multiple leaves emerging at once ❤
I have wanted this plant for over 25 years now, I’m so excited the price is finally decent, who knows I probably would have killed it when I first started this plant journey, I finally figured out succulents not to long ago 😂
I have had exactly thee same journey with my thai too, still just in juvenile form as we have re-rooted several times over but I have had 2 new leaves in quick succession so 🤞 Yours is stunning now, I pray for mine to get there too one day 🙏
Omg I've been away for like months and watched this video omg I'm so proud of you with that thai constellation! I remember the rotting and and repotting process but now yeayy!
Honestly this plant especially with this colored pot might win the contest for the prettiest potted plant in the entire world. I just got my thai constellation yesterday, it has mechanical damage from the store, but it's quite big and the newest leaf is with fenestration already. I just hope we survive the root rot era
She's so beautiful 😍 I'm so glad she seems to have outgrown her root rot issues! I remember people giving you flack for different things you tried while trying to save her. Looks like you were right! My hoya chicken farm, which I bought after seeing yours, seems to be growing a peduncle I found today! I'm so thrilled!
I was just gifted my first small Thai con, and it already has fenestration in the newest leaf! So, of course, i had to check out your videos to see your strategy. Funny to see how you repot using your legs to unpot. I thought i was the only one 😂. I will repot in a clear one for now. Great vid🎉❤
i want one of these (of course) and youtube and reddit all say they're not rare and they should be affordable now. etsy and ebay however tell me it's still out of the question. my local plant shop here in surrey has em for over $300. what do?
You can find small ones at online plant shops for less than $100 - there are some beautiful ones on Planthaven Toronto right now for $85! You can also use my discount code FERN2023 to make it even cheaper if you decide to order one 😉
Omg I’ve been on the struggle bus with mine and trying to stay hopeful because I’ve been with you since the beginning of your Thai con journey ❤ so happy to see her thriving!!!
She's a beauty! So glad she's finally settled into her own and is happy. That's a great mix you've put her in. When I looked last that fir bark was super expensive, but she's definitely worth it - given your journey!!
Such a long journey with this one! This is what happens when you don’t give up! I’m very happy for you!

honestly inspiring how long you have gone back and forth with this plants health, and it's super gratifying that it's just happy now! yay!
Such a beautiful plant 😍😍 I was finally able to get my hands on a Thai con at a reasonable price but it rotted within a week. I’m so sad but I’ll try again soon
I've been following your journey with this plant since the beginning haha - I can't believe how far it's come!
Girllll!! Im dying laughing over here watching Thai’s journey. I kno so many of us have shared this same journey. I’m so happy for you tho!
Gorgeous Thai Constellation been thinking of getting one. With Monstera I don’t like the crazy aerial roots. So i would chop them or bury into the soil if they aren’t that long and chunky looking. I think prices are starting to go down.
So happy for you and your Thai 🎉🎉 I have been lucky with my Thai, no root rot issues so far. 😀
My baby thai con has completely rotted twice, lost two leaves, and pushed one out. I am finally getting roots back from it's last rotting incident but it's been a STRUGGLE. Thanks for being relatable :')
I hope it gets better for you soon 🥲 I definitely understand the struggle lol!
Fern we need an update!!!
Girrrrrl, you had me nervous, esp when I heard that SNAP/POP 😂 You definitely had to put your body into it…but all ended well ❤️🙏🏾🌱🌱🌱awwww Thai lol….
hahahah all's well that ends well ☺️🌿🫶
Hi fern!! Great video, ive been bingong your thai con playlist. I never thought id find a thai con in my budget, but found someone local selling babies for very cheap. I hope mine looks as beautiful as yours one day!

Thai Thai is so big now!
Beautiful healthy Thai. Thanks for sharing Fern!
thank you for watching :)
Todays going to be a good day! Looking forward to watching this, love me a good repot video.
I hope you enjoyyyy
Beautiful plants!
You’re so good with your plants! Thanks for sharing all of your successes and the repotting.
Thank you very much!
If you want more variegation just give it more light
that's not how it works, variegation is genetic, but that would be nice haha!
Hi Fern where did you get those big clear nursery pots from because there not listed in your Amazon store listing's
So nice to see you repot that sucker without it rotted.😅 yay you ❤❤❤
I’m so nervous 😂, 13:12
Aww, 💚 this
Where do u get ur clear pots from?
What is dry rot?
Like root rot, but caused from underwatering/getting too dry. The roots basically shrivel up and die. Most of my plants that have rotted have suffered from dry rot rather than traditional root rot from overwatering.

I love it too - so satisfying and (usually) relaxing!
I feel the same way I love watching it and doing it myself!
The snapping sounds when you were trying to get it out the pot was scaring TF outta me😅😂😂
Lol yes, like she cracked an egg.🥚🍳
Got yo self a new subscriber. Love your videos
You're killing me the way you yank the plants out the pots 😅.....you have to keep squishing the sides to get it to come out.
You’re just going to have to be okay with breaking the pot to get him out again, ha ❤. Love this plant, he totally deserves the fancy pot 🎉
Huzzah 🙌🏽 long live the Thai!
she reigns queen in this planty home now 🙌
1.) GORGEOUS lighting/camera situation on this video!
2.) Such a satisfying up-pot to watch!
3.) Congrats on keeping such a happy, healthy Thai Con!

Repot looks great! 🙌🏼I just ordered my first Thai so watching your playlist for inspiration!🤞🏼💚🌿
She is beauty, she is grace, she's shooting out new leaves all over the place 😆 ... I'll see myself out 👋
Fern! I love your channel but I officially HATE that plant! I am on Thai number three and again it is starting to decline. Put the plant in the move and ignore it.
I can't believe your monstera is this big now!!!! So happy to be here for so many years
Your Thai is stunning!!! I've been rooting for you during this whole journey you've been on with it... amazing progress!!! 🙌😍
My Thai Constelation looks like yours did when you first got it and i CANNOT wait for mine to be a big and beautiful as yours! literally goals!
I am so glad I bought mine BIG, after watching your video. It only has 5 leaves, but they are 60 cm and the stem is 5,5 cm thick. So basically I did spend € 42,-/year to get where you are, lol

help the same thing happened to me! it wouldn't get out of the pot! i just left it bc IT WAS SO HARD! 🤣
Perfect upgrade! It looks fabulous!
Fern giving birth to a Thai......I know it's your baby Fern, but seriously 🤣😉
Hello from Sweden! I just wanted to tell you that i looove your channel! I really got in to houseplants a few years ago and you are a big inspiration to me! Looking forward for your spooky repot🕯👻👻
Awe thank you so so much 🖤

It has been quite the adventure with that plant. Why didn't you stick the tail in the pot? I don't like arial roots hanging out, it looks messy.
Where did you get those BIG CLEAR POTS?!
Those 2 leaves did not die cuz of lack of water, those 2 leaves died cuz the plant sacrifices the youngest leaves for the bigger leaves
She looks so good! As do you btw! Living ur best life :D
When I have a garden plant that’s stuck in a pot I find rolling it on it’s side with some pressure helps with loosening. For one that size, leaf shape, etc - maybe on the edge of the table so the leaves are hanging in the air and the pot is on the table? Or netting it first? Your plant look great now. I bought Thai constellation that have root rot within a week. I feel your pain!
Ive never thought about clear pots! I just got my tiny baby and i was going to return it but maybe with a clear pot i can not worry so much!
Thank goodness you didn’t do this repot dry- would have been even harder to get out!
YES MA’AM I just love how full she is and that planter 😮
Thank you Kevin 🥹 maybe one day we’ll catch up to yours!!
I would “like” to have one hundred dollars for every time you said “like” in your videos 😂
What did you say you used for spider mites and pests?
I finally bought a highly variegated Thai con. I’m waiting for it to ship. So stoked. Yours is lovely! Maybe I’ll chop mine up and grow two plants in one pot. It just looks so nice and full. Plus, there’s nothing better than multiple leaves emerging at once ❤
Wow! Wasn't expecting that glow up 😮💋 so happy you did it 🎉
That pot is not big enough for that plant.
I just bought mines last night at a kroger for $35
DOES ORCHIDS SOIL WORKS FOR IT??
I've never tried it! I don't see why not though.
I have wanted this plant for over 25 years now, I’m so excited the price is finally decent, who knows I probably would have killed it when I first started this plant journey, I finally figured out succulents not to long ago 😂
Love your choice of pot. It's perfect for your beautiful Thai Constellation!! Great job!!❤🌱🌿🍃🪴
MY M💚NSTERA C💚NSTELLATI💚N...Y💚URS HAS BEC💚ME A LIVING W💚RK OF ART...BUT I KEEP CHICKENING OUT SO I CAN'T SAY THAT YET!!!
I have had exactly thee same journey with my thai too, still just in juvenile form as we have re-rooted several times over but I have had 2 new leaves in quick succession so 🤞 Yours is stunning now, I pray for mine to get there too one day 🙏
I love watching your videos. Out of all the plant channels yours is my favorite. Thanks for your great work.
Where do you get those giant clear pots?
Wow !! best roots on a Thia plant 🪴 I’ve seen so far 👍🏽,even though I felt😅 as if I was helping U pull it out the pot 😂
Thai 😊
So happy for you
You definitely work hard, it definitely paid off
Congratulations
Omg I've been away for like months and watched this video omg I'm so proud of you with that thai constellation! I remember the rotting and and repotting process but now yeayy!
This making me want one, tried to stay away from thai's
We have watched this plant’s ups and downs but she is looking BEAUTIFUL!
Honestly this plant especially with this colored pot might win the contest for the prettiest potted plant in the entire world. I just got my thai constellation yesterday, it has mechanical damage from the store, but it's quite big and the newest leaf is with fenestration already. I just hope we survive the root rot era
Aww thank you so much! Wishing good growing vibes for your thai :)
“…not going to be messing with the roots…” *gets butter knife* 😂 Seriously though that sucker was in there good! Nice job. The Thai looks amazing. 💚🤍
I know right hahahah - I think the damage was minimal though 🤞
She's so beautiful 😍 I'm so glad she seems to have outgrown her root rot issues! I remember people giving you flack for different things you tried while trying to save her. Looks like you were right!
My hoya chicken farm, which I bought after seeing yours, seems to be growing a peduncle I found today! I'm so thrilled!
I just use Miracle Grow moisture control soil an perlite. 50/50 mix. Water every 10 days or so.
Amazing - love a simple mix! 🤌
I was just gifted my first small Thai con, and it already has fenestration in the newest leaf! So, of course, i had to check out your videos to see your strategy. Funny to see how you repot using your legs to unpot. I thought i was the only one 😂. I will repot in a clear one for now. Great vid🎉❤
Thai cons are beautiful! Cherish it forever.

@wildfern do u not need to put the monstera Thai on a pole?
Omg I’ve been on the struggle bus with mine and trying to stay hopeful because I’ve been with you since the beginning of your Thai con journey ❤ so happy to see her thriving!!!
My fingers are crossed for you!!
You know stuff's gonna go down when the silly music comes on!!! Ha ha amazing video, this gives me all the plant mama feels
Hahaha right 🥲🤣 I love the silly music so much lol. Thank you 🫶
So happy you got to the place you are with this plant 💚 Definitely proud plant parent moment!
Thank you so much 🥺
does anyone know the song that is in fern's outtro?
So cute! Love the pot, and just wow! It’s doing so well, yay! ❤
Amazing to see how big and beautiful it’s gotten!❤️🔥
Finally she loves life. Please keep us updated on how Cadence is doing. We love her too.
What are those little k packets on the plants?
Hi fern! Where did you get that huge pot (peach col?)with clear nursery pot inside?
Gardenworks 💚
She's a beauty! So glad she's finally settled into her own and is happy. That's a great mix you've put her in. When I looked last that fir bark was super expensive, but she's definitely worth it - given your journey!!
Try a pet store. I got a huge bag of it for a fairly reasonable price. I don't remember exactly how much a it was 5 or 6 years ago.
@@blip-2024Thank you!
It looks beautiful though.
