    For anyone watching this know that there is a bleeder on thermostat that needs to be at the highest point and that bolts should be torqued to 9 foot pounds

    My 2013 Ram doesn’t need a gasket for the housing. The gasket seal is on the thermostat itself.

    Lot of people are switching to 180 cause they want to prevent unseating of the heads apparently issue for all hemi not this guy he wants the heater to work like a fireplace 180 gets a done and gives you a temp buffer . If your worried about a heater get a remote start and give yourself more time in the morning

      Your absolutely right. The heater isn't as warm.

    Where did u get that gasket from? Hemi's didn't have gaskets on them. There is no need for one. It comes on the stat.

    Question while driving on set 65MPH... battery light indicated LOW BATTERY then 30 seconds later temperature gauge flew up all the way to hot...I turned in the hazards and disengaged the cruise control and as the truck started to slow down...the temperature also came down almost instantly??? Strange but true...and what do I do.

    Great video! About to replace my water pump & while I’m there going to replace the thermostat. I’ve read about the stock 203 degree thermostat & many had changed to 180 degree for better performance. What originally made you want to change the stock 203 to 180?

    My thermostat housing didn’t have a gasket. All that was there was the rubber ring around the thermostat?
    It looks like you have a blue gasket in between?

    • @Flies_the_limit
      @Flies_the_limit 2 года назад

      Mine didn't have one either when I replaced it. I just put one on. I think the rubber around the tstat is the actual gasket but no harm in putting on the one sitting inbetween housing and water pump I wouldn't think

    • @aarony8534

      @@Flies_the_limitI was debating wether to out the housing gasket in or not. Wonder if it affects the thermostat gasket? Like not compress it properly?

    • @elroco4827
      @elroco4827 2 месяца назад

      The housing doesn’t need a seal. The seal is on the thermostat. You can buy a gasket and put it on the housing if you like

    I have the same year ram, any suggestions on what to check when my heater only blows heat on the passenger side? I flushed the heater core and checked the blend door actuator and still no change. Any help would be appreciated

    • @EclipseLawnCare
      @EclipseLawnCare  3 года назад

      Hi I’m still having the same issues as you. I would’ve thought it was the blender door actuator. Let me do some research. Thanks.

      What was it? I had the same issue. Bought a special tool to clean out the heater core. It hools up to a compressor and a water hose. Cleaned it out works fine. Only use short bursts of compressed air so you don't t damage the core.

      From what I've seen there's multiple blend doors other than the one behind the glove box.

      The hell with draining the rad. You don’t necessarily have to drain the rad. Takes longer doing all that.
