I'm from socal as well. I've got a okj highland. That char griller actually looks pretty good. I like the fact they put ports at grate level for temp guages

Finally got mine. They are pretty hard to come by now. My first one was delivered with a dent on the bottom. Kinda like the one at about the 1:45 mark on the video. Char-Griller took care of me though. Arranged the pick-up and and my refund with Home Depot.
Had to drive 90 miles (lots of hills and valleys in Western New York) to get my current one. Definitely a 2 person assembly job if you want it to go smoothly. Doing my first burn right now (7/1/2021).
ive went thru 3 char grillers in my day, but this is the first time seeing this one, may hav to look into it

Yeah I picked this bad ass griller up at The Home Depot last week and it is heavy! Funny story, a young girl and myself loaded it in the back of my truck while a guy store manager is asking her if she needs help…..yeah we got it done!

That's a bad ass smoker! Would you happen to know the measurements of the cooking grates? Nowhere on chargriller website does it give the grate measurements.

They really killed it with this grill just picked mine up last week and it is an absolute monster of a grill...... next best thing and in my opinion will get down with any high dollar comp grill....... I made some bad ass ribs on it so far, and I'm dying to get back on it and smoke some more food just got a half cord of wood dropped off today went and got a nice log splitter and it's on.....

Just got mine today. It was SOAKED in machine oil. Is this normal? My plan was to spray it with canola oil but now i feel I have to degrease it before I apply the canola oil to season it. Thoughts?
Honestly mine didn’t have that much on there. Not sure if it is normal or not, but I haven’t heard about it from anyone else. If it’s that much, then ya I’d run with degreaser first.

I see you got the red white blue royal oak charcoal. I love that charcoal but I can’t find it any more. I’m in Pasadena and Walmart’s around here have been out of stock for a while now. Where did you get it?
Got it from Walmart in Rancho Cucamonga. But it was a while ago. I just stocked up like crazy on them.
Main question I have is the thickness of the steel. Need to know how long it’ll last me for the investment. Thanks for any info from any owners!
I just got one I don't off the top of my head no the thickness.......but it is heavy duty for sure. ....... it will get down with any comp grill guaranteed....... for not being a welded grill it's the next best thing....... it will last you a very long time....... and for the money you get a ton....... it's an amazing grill the best box store one hands down
Can you grill directly in the main barrel in this bad boy?
Yes you can. I put a couple grillgrates on the fire basket when I made my smoked cheeseburgers.
Is it tough to manage the temps?
It takes a min to get your flow on the temps, but it’s a well built pit so it gets pretty easy.
Do you know how thick the steel is on the smoker?
I believe it’s 1/8”
DO YOU JUST DO 1 BURN IN ON THIS SMOKER AT HIGH TEMP AND THEN GOOD TO COOK ON? IF SO HOW LONG DO YOU BURN FOR THE BURN IN?
I just did one long burn in trying to keep it over 400 for 45 min or so.
@@CjsQue thanks man! Just got my grill and just got finished with the burn in I just didn’t know if I needed spray it with oil and do another one before cooking on it. But hey ... one burn in is good for me ! Love the videos brother .

It's plenty thick, and this one is kicking the old countries ass........ it's worth every penny
