    To say Wu vs Taylor is tangled is an understatement they both played very very well. This match is insane. the only weakness is the handshake.

    Wu’s forehand has a lot of variety! His forehand is very powerful without a big take back. Great footwork and solid return! He will certainly succeed on fast court.

      looked like Wu was willing to hug him a bit but Fritz wasn't up for that. On Fritz's way out I don't think he gave any sign to the crowd like a wave or a thumbs up. He looked really upset. I don't blame him. It was a tough loss.

    Wu's backhand is honestly really damn solid. Was awesome to watch, as well as the acceleration he gets on his forehand shots, out of nowhere he would just increase the speed of play and catch you off guard. Fritz looked like he was gonna fall over a couple times trying to get to the ball

    WOW, Wu only hit 13 unforced errors in 3 long sets combined with 33 winners so he's not just keeping the ball in play. His consistency is really impressive and a huge advantage!

    Wu has a solid physique that he has the potential to run around and make excellent footwork. Fritz is famous in his slapping forehand but Wu encountered him very well. The change of pace in rally is amazing. Keep up Wu!

      Agreed, wow. Fritz has let his racquet do the talking for a few years now - however awkward his game looks to me it works for Fritz and he wins a lot! But man, Wu is like a magician. I am so impressed.

      @@vladraduandrei5227 Um, had you read more carefully, you'd see it says "looks" award, whic it most certainly does. So does Medvedev's game. Neither one of them moves smoothly or gracefully, but they move really well, which is the point. If you saw a video of their movement without showing where the shots were landing, you wouldn't expect them to be so good.

      I disagree that it is disappointing from Fritz. The thing he's most improved is staying in the match mentally. He did that, and this time it wasn't quite enough - but that grit and belief is what has got him to top 10.

      Good point. The short slices to Fritz’s forehand were like gifts out of nowhere. He could have played a regular backhand, so it a was a strange shot selection that got him exposed.

      @@DrivingABC Luck tends to equal out across a match and extracting errors from an opponent is a skill in and of itself (ref. Borg on clay). Part of the appeal of tennis is its lack of outside influence on the outcome, even more so now with automated linesmen and the chance to protest a call.

    Wu’s spin is insane, and his use of it is really smart-he’s really tapped into something at age 23. I think Fritz should have given him the hug at the end that Wu went in for-it’s a tremendous accomplishment for Wu and not a huge loss for Fritz.

    I saw Wu play in the Challengers last season and even then his ball striking was impeccable. He just needed to put things together. Now it appears he has. Good win by Wu. I can see some ATP titles in his future. It's going to be interesting to see how he does in the Slam events.

    Haven't watched Wu's matches before but he has such a relaxed style of play, as if he has all the time in the world with the ball. Will be interesting to see how far up the rankings he goes. Also, what happened at the net? Wu went for a hug but Taylor wasn't up for it?

    Watched this match yesterday in real time - it was Superb. Incredible level from both players! I was so impressed - and to see Wu perform and lift it another notch towards the end? Priceless. What a fantastic player - his demeanor never wavered.

    Look out ! Wu is a real deal.. He has an impeccable sense of timing .. His reaction and movement time was absolute insane thus create an excellent shot recognition and great execution in amazing timely manner...His gross and fine motor skill are way above the scale..He can get to the ball in lightning speed and execute the shot in perfect timing..Whereas, his fine motor skill perform a complete control of movement to deccelerate from a high speed to slow speed and execute his sensitive touch tactical drop shot in full control.. incredible talent to reckon with..His mental and physical strength is way above the mark prolonging the rally with his tactical and strategic manuevring until the opponent reach the exhaustion period...We are witnessing a player under the radar and on the way to tennis dominancy.. Wu will entertain us to prove he is genuiely for real.. We will be watching him more in his future games .Great performance !! And, congratulations Yibing Wu..

    Wu has surprisingly good directional change with his ball striking and he hits clean. That's what makes djokovic so good with his groundstrokes. It's an underrated skill. Everyone always talks about power, but creating angles is much more effective. He's also a scrappy mover, reminds me of David ferer.

    I was very impressed with Wu's shot placement...he hit it deep which I felt prevented Fritz from getting into his game. Didn't see enough of JJ Wolf and Isner to comment.

    Wu plays really solidly, only watch him play three matches I know right away he will come up to the top very soon, he has every tool needed for being a high-level tennis player plus defending, without good defending he could not beat Fritz and with good defending top player will stay on top a long time , keep going Wu.

    Taylor has established himself as a very dangerous competitor. Wu just stayed incredibly focused and out played Taylor. Taylor did not do anything wrong. Congrats to Wu!
