Great tutorial! I had no idea that the light effect would illuminate the paint strokes. Incredible! Many thanks for this! I cannot wait to experiment! ❤️🌹🌷

Thanks for this video, really good, have tried a few times to do 'painting'. Your style of producing the videos is very clear and concise with a good lot of tips. Thanks a lot, hope you continue.

Great vid. I usually just use AP for some light photo editing (mostly clean-up) with some light layer work but been thinking of playing around lately. A little over a year agom I purchased an XP-PEN Star G640 for around $30 on sale on the recommendation of a LR/PS You Tuber. I think it sold for around $35-$40 normally. Used it for about a week & figured I would hold off until could get a Wacom which hasn't happened yet. I can see if you put the mouse away & stick with the pen-tablet what a benefit it would be. Thanks for the vid.

Thank you for this! I do a lot of flower photography, and I’ve been noticing that turning them into “paintings” has become very popular with the PS crowd. I kept looking for ways to do this in Affinity Photo, and now I have my answer! Very helpful.

LOVE this! Do you happen to know -- is there a way to isolate where the brush goes? For instance, it doesn't stay within the confines of a "selection".

This is hands down the best painting tutorial I found on the internet for Affinity photo. I am going to get the drawing tablet. Do you have a tutorial on the tablet and how yo use it with Affinity Photo?

To do that, Auto-Load an empty color brush..

I can't find the option for clean bursh, I don't have it, where do you have it from?

  • @howardworf6760

I'm struggling with this - the only colour I can get is from the colour palette, either default black and white or a colour I deliberately pick. Otherwise nothing. If I clean the brush and then drag on the image I get no effect whatsoever. Very frustrating.

What do you press to clean the brush rather than hitting the "clean brush" button? I didn't understand you. Ah, never mind......."C" key. I was hearing "seekey" and thinking...what the hell is a seekey....LOL!
    Anyway, great tutorial!
