I haven't heard this for years. I think most people remember this lullaby from when it appeared on the soundtrack of Christian Bale's movie Empire of the Sun. Listening to it now just took me back almost 40 years!

What a beautiful voice. It is a great pleasure to me to listen to such a boy as this, with such a wonderful voice. I wish him good fortune in his future. God Bless him!
So very beautiful! It is always such a delight to hear a boy soprano sing. Did this piece with my choir last Christmas. Brought back such fond memories.
The boy's voice nailed me, and brought me to tears on the first note. Beautiful voice, beautiful boy. His dad should be proud to call him son. I know I would.
Christian Bale played the boy in “Empire of the Sun”. The song and movie are stuck in my mind, not often are WWII movies made from a child’s point of view.
I have heard many versions of this song, often by boy trebles, however, in my opinion this is by far the best. Cai has the voice of an angel, but what's more is he truly feels the music he sings. It's not enough to just sing the notes and lyrics, the singer must put his soul into it. And Cai does just that. No matter that his voice will change, he has The Gift. Added to his solo is a perfect accompaniment, strings and the harp are meant for this piece. Brilliantly done, and thank you so much for sharing your gift with us.
He reminds me of the kid who played Oliver (in the movie 1968), Mark Lester, with Oliver Reed. And the song I always remember this from is "Empire of the Sun", a beautiful Welsh lullaby.

I've sure I've listened to it over a thousand times since then and I'm still overwhelmed every time I hear it. Have to add that while the focus tends to be on the singer, the lighting, recording, and filming in this video is superb, the people involved in the production should be very proud.
Angels we have just heard on high. Hallelujah!
Beautiful, just beautiful. There is nothing so "pure" as a boy soprano!! I should know, I was head chorister of my prep school choir in 1958!! I was eleven!!
I've no words.. it's superb
So very good.. leaves one stunned.
What wonderful lullaby...there are singing voices and then there are the Welsh...singing voices...🐢🇨🇦♾️🐞♥️
Just beautiful! This young boy has such a clear angelic voice. It was such a treat to hear him sing!
The hairs are standing up on the back of my neck! I love listening to the Welsh language, it sounds like singing.
Thank you Cai for dedicating so much time and effort towards singing. I also want to thank those who have inspired you with their passion for music. I thank those who have trained you, cared for you, and supported you and the other singers.
Well done, good voice control 👍🏻🙏🏻✌🏻🕊
This voice must come from a beautiful soul. Makes me cry. It is so beautiful.
Exceptional choir. Lovely voices and beautiful control of projection.
Pure angelic singing. The young boy Cai makes this sad old world a beautiful place to live in.
Great performance by all involved. Cai has a great voice for sure!
my favorite movie is the Empire of The Sun. i never knew the Name of the song. And to hear it sung so incredibly, was an awesome find on RUclips . Cai you are just Brilliant.

Gorgeous singing and playing, and an exquisite arrangement. Truly a wonderful thing to find today.

For some reason, Likes aren't being recorded.
@@mgrimes1367 Weird... Thanks for telling me!
What a beautiful voice. It is a great pleasure to me to listen to such a boy as this, with such a wonderful voice. I wish him good fortune in his future. God Bless him!
Beautiful voice, Beautiful song, Beautiful language.
Nothing more beautiful than an innocent child's voice. Beautiful.
His voice is otherworldly, and he looks like an angel too!
So very beautiful! It is always such a delight to hear a boy soprano sing. Did this piece with my choir last Christmas. Brought back such fond memories.
He looks and sounds like an angel
So süß müssen die Stimmen der Engel sein. Wundervoller Junge...
The boy's voice nailed me, and brought me to tears on the first note. Beautiful voice, beautiful boy. His dad should be proud to call him son. I know I would.
His marvellous voice opens the gates of paradise ! such a great talent !!!!
Quite a delightful voice. Cai Thomas must train with the angels. Exquisite voice, thanks for sharing.
I remember that tune. The boy sang it i a movie years ago called: "Empire of the Sun". By Steven Spielberg.
I've been hoping to come across this song again, so lovely.
Christian Bale played the boy in “Empire of the Sun”. The song and movie are stuck in my mind, not often are WWII movies made from a child’s point of view.
Aaah thanks. I was trying to remember where I’ve heard this tune before
Waterlooplein1 I don’t remember this or any song but I do remember the movie! Might see if I can find it again!
Really? You don't remember the song? It was practically the first thing you heard watching the movie.
Bravo, bravo. Wonderful!!
how fortunate we all are to get to haer this ... beautiful
NOT ONLY DOES HE HAVE THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL
BUT THE FACE OF AN ANGEL
SENT FROM HEAVEN
Lovely! Simply lovely!
