I've been watching your videos for about two months now, and mate, your videos are by-far some of the most informative and fun foam dart reviews I've seen on here! My best friend had a James Bond-esque "dress fancy and bring a weapon" birthday party last month and my family used your reviews to get a grip on what blasters we should bring- and all in all, we loved the ones we picked! I also FINALLY found an Adventure Force Nexus Pro at my local Walmart yesterday, and picked that up with some extra half-lengths! I'm having such a great time with it, and have even got my mother into blasting after I picked up a Villainator earlier this month and was showing that one off. Thank you so much for your informative and interesting videos- they're absolutely part of what's getting me through everything that's going on in the world right now, and it's comforting to know that any blaster you recommend will be money well-spent for products that my family can as a whole thoroughly enjoy, and have money left over for extra ammo!
An advantage to the hopper is that it can be sling-mounted as a secondary with zero risk of darts falling out like they would with a front-loading drum like the Villainator potentially could if the darts are worn, while still being scavenging-friendly.
Jason Santiago he changed it awhile back cause Nerf is no longer top dog anymore, they have become complacent believing that they are “the company” in the foam flinging business. They have had blinders on for awhile now, and the problem with that is you can’t see your competition until they have passed you, which is what Dart Zone is doing now.

It sounds like a good backup blaster. Maybe even great as a loaner as well. No mags to lose, no oversized drum to accidentally crush and no belts to flop around. Also, the video didn't mention the single-dart loading bay on the side of the blaster, which could be useful when you don't want to open the hopper and accidentally spill all your darts.
I don't have the funds available that I used to, but once I have the Nexus Pro, Villainator, and Spectrum all acquired, I might consider it. It would be a nice loaner for some ofy kids' friends too.
As cool as this thing is, Dart Zone is kind of in their own way. The Villainator is the same price with twice the capacity and slam fire. Granted tho, the Sportsman is leagues ahead of the Elite 2.0 Warden.
Variety is always good, and for that price i don't think they really care about inovating a ton every time, unlike Nerf and their sea of Gimmick blasters. Tbh all last 4 dart zone blasters (If you count this one) are pretty munch top tier in every way, no way it's gonna lose it's steam so early on.
I think the fact you can load the sportsman in like 5 seconds (given you have a lot of darts all facing the same way) makes it a great option, as maybe an HvZ slung secondary?
Seems like a good loaner if you don't know if the borrower will break the drum or not. It seems easier to fix than a drum at least. For example: you started a public/school Nerf club Also, seems great as backup to put on a sling or in a locker/office drawer, because less parts to lose or get in the way. I do wish it was smaller though. Maybe a smaller barrel at least.
I like the hoppers on their auto blasters. I wanna see their next iteration of the commandfire with a stock mount to fire it from the shoulder and with more of the storage cylinders. Making it work in a springer is cool conceptually, but I don't see this as interesting beyond that tbh.
I'm going to get 1 for my 8yr son, he doesn't like carrying mags and I already got both of us a villainator, so I'll see what he likes better when we get back to battles
Could this be modded to be magazine fed? Like, fill in the sides of the hopper and have a mag slot through there. Not to take away from the Hopper, I really like the hopper system but this is just an idea.
I’m a huge fan of their hopper system. I just plan on waiting because their designs end up being very iterative. I’m hoping they come out with something smoother and better later. And if not, maybe this one on sale.
I have a DZ Commander. Its hopper system is great: 40 rnd cpcty; No jams; No mags. Yes, gravity feed does play a bit into it, but gravity isn't big deal cuz, keeping with Aliens theme of Vasquez's gun, we play w/ it shooting level in a supressing fire mode. Sportsman is more compact. Likley to crouch & run while shooting. Then gravity more a factor. Based on Commander hopper experience, I'd buy a Sportsman. But won't because bought DZ Villainator instead. Can you say "Tommy Gun!?!" Wow. I won't buy a DZ product because of another DZ product!! Nerf? Nah, "Get in the Dart Zone!" I like that Dart Zone is proving that they can ddo more than just iterate on Nerf blasters, they can come up with their own gimmicks and experiments. Like even when their gimmicks aren't very good, they still make a mediocre blaster on the cheap. Also maybe this one is just waiting for the double-sided darts, the same way half-darts really showed the potential of a lot of extant blasters and designs.
You know, i wonder how easy using half darts would be with a hopper, seeing as it can't have a dart post. Also, I see that AMD Ryzen Box. PC Master Race, Drac? Im impressed!

Well dartzone are offering a few different blasters beside the brilliant nexus Pro and spectrum, which is interesting and they certainly don't break the bank. However, none are on shelves in the UK ARRGGGGGHH!
They're covering all bases, magfed springer, cylinder springer, hopper springer, hopper flywheeler, cylinder flywheeler, magfed flywheeler. Only thing they're not yet doing is stringers, let's give them some time and see what happens

Ehh, the muzzle attachments were usually pretty bad (most looked stupid and most hindered performance) and Nerf changed colour schemes about eight times while I've been in the hobby. Sure, green and orange isn't great, but it's not horrible, either, and we can always paint them.

I think there was a 10 second video of someone shoving half lengths into the breech and firing it. But I don't think the hopper will feed half lengths properly, because it's designed for elite length darts. Maybe with some mods it will.

Drac it has a side loading port for more on the go loading i.e. picking up a dart off the ground.

I’ve found that a lot of the dart zone/adventure force blasters can be easily disassembled to minimize them, hopefully the sportsman is the same!
If it can take a stronger spring and actually hit hard then I’ll get it but if not probably not
