Dude you're a lifesaver, I was literally looking for a TPS shooter tutorial yesterday and was following your other one but it was nowhere near as good as this, thank you very much
For the muzzle flash not rendering in the correct rotation, i fixed it this way: connect world rotation node to a 'get right vector' node and the 'right vector node' to the emitter attached rotation. It will automatically create a "Rotation from X vector" I started uengine like 3 days ago, might not be the best fix but it works.

Such a wonderful tutorial done by a bright young man. Thank you. In my experience, and because of the crosshair not being centered with the actual firing, this is why I always enable the crosshair widget only when I am aiming, which makes more sense for a shooter. When not aiming, if you are going to fire, it will shoot in the direction you are facing and not necessarily be the center of the screen, which also makes sense.

How do you fix the crosshair parallax? At 1:00:40 you mention fixing it later, I’d like to learn the best approach to this. Thanks for this splendid tutorial 🔥
What I did is remove the 'get socket transformation' for the rifle muzzle and instead plug the 'get world location (follow camera)' into start. Then get the 'Get forward vector (follow camera' and times it by 5000 before adding it to the the value of the 'get world location (follow camera)' and plug that into the end. This way the line trace is starting at the point where you are looking and ending directly in the crosshair 5000 metres after. This doesn't matter though because you don't see the bullet once you've turned off the debugging and when the muzzle flash is added it looks (and works) perfectly!
Bro, your video is great, it has helped me a lot. I think you could make a second part with improvements such as adding a hud where you can see the weapon you are carrying and being able to carry more weapons for your character.

Hello, at 47:10 when you drop in multiple animations into the timeline, it is only allowing me to add one. Whenever I try to drag another one in, it shows a yellow dot and when I release, it doesn't add a second animation. Any idea why? thanks
Everything went well... up to the point of setting the crosshairs using the right mouse button. As I am using version 4.26 and you are doing it for version 5, there is a big difference in the INPUT issue... in version 4 there is no INPUT folder (in ThirdPersponBP) and as I am not a programmer (I am starting the blueprint as a hobby ), I couldn't get it right on 4, how to set it without the INPUT folder. You could make a version for 4... that would be really good, because a lot of people still use this version.

Good tutorial. Easy to follow. Everything is well explained and the pace is good for me. I am also taking a course from you on Udemy. The course on Udemy is also very good.
Keep up the good work! And thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Hello, at 47:10 when you drop in multiple animations into the timeline, it is only allowing me to add one. Whenever I try to drag another one in, it shows a yellow dot and when I release, it doesn't add a second animation. Any idea why? thanks
I just redid all the offset steps and it fixed it somehow.
You're the guy ! greatings from brasil !

thank you!!
For some reason I needed to create a socket at the muzzle flash point and use that for the "get socket transform" for the fire section
Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
