Those are Queen and Monarchs! Just had 2 Monarchs eclose today here! We had to also use Tropical Milkweed but are cutting it down because of the OE parasite and other bacteria and viruses. Thankfully we found some common milkweed as well. I hope you bleach treated your tropical milkweed to help prevent OE so these guys can have a better chance!

I'm raising ten Monarch caterpillars in my butterfly terrarium.... They eat so much!! The other butterfly you showed was the Queen butterfly ...and their caterpillars have lighter colors than the Monarch...and their chrysalis is lighter too.

Those aren't ALL Monarchs. Some of what you have are *Queen* Butterflies
They so happen to share the same host plant as the Monarch
The brownish orange ones that don't have any veins visible in their wings are the Queens 😊❤️

Thank you so much for the feedback. They are all beautiful and I am happy to help save as many butterflies as possible. 😊

Monarchs come out of a chrysalis not cocoon. It’s called eclosing. Don’t grab the wings they will be damaged. Just put your finger in front and they crawl right on. If trying to educate others about monarchs please provide correct information and only show monarchs. It’s confusing.

Thanks for the information. I have learned this since then. Thankfully I am gentle with clean dry hands and had patience. This is an old post. Thank you. 😊
