Beautiful!! What month do you start the luffa?
How wonderful! Thanks for sharing😂❤!!
The soil is good and look at the fruit!

So real! I’m growing too❤️I love it so much
Many years ago, stayed at a place with a giant avocado tree in the back yard. It had thin skinned green fruit similar to yours. It was suggested that it may have been the "bacon" variety, but I dunno. Squirrels would often drop 20+ in a day with just a few nibbles taken out of them, and much of the fruit landed on concrete. As you know, any compromised area in the skin of an avocado, inclusive of where the stem was attached, can lead to the fruit going bad before it can ripen. Found a way to salvage the damaged fruit. Slice away any nibbles or impact spots, then use a spray bottle to generously apply hydrogen peroxide to any open wounds on the fruit. Allow it to dry, then store them as you normally would being careful to not compromise the sanitized area. The open wound will turn into a leathery skin as the fruit ripens. I never noticed any impact on the flavor of an avocado salvaged in this manner, except maybe when I experimented with removing the seed prior to ripening. Fun fact for those unaware: when an avocado is left on the tree, the flesh will outgrow the seed and you can feel/hear the seed rattling around when you shake the fruit. Eventually dealt with the issue of squirrels having easy access, but avocados still occasionally hit the concrete. They usually weighed 0.5-1 lb, so the impact could be quite severe. Continued using hydrogen peroxide to treat the stem spot and any other damage spots on every avocado harvested. Damn, I miss that tree.
@@c16h16n2o2 fascinating information! Thank you so much for sharing. Yes I have definitely been sharing the avocados with the squirrels lol A good thing is there’s a very soft landing here for the avocados when they fall and I haven’t had any issues with that thankfully. :)
Beautiful! How exciting!!!
@@janinevegan6191 thank you I want to encourage you to start growing your own food. My dream is for everyone to grow their own food if possible.. community gardens, backyard gardens.
Love passion fruit!!!
@@janinevegan6191 passionfruit is one of my favorites!! Mangoes too oh oh and figs.. lol
Yes! 😂 Thank heavens for nature❤. The birdsong was beautiful, good job on the spider closeup!🎉
@@dreed1058 thanks a bunch! I was mesmerized lol
Do you wait for the seed to dry, or plant the seeds straight from the fruit?
@@nicolenoel818 I go straight from the fruit! I’ve even taken a rotting papaya and crushed it up and buried it mixed in with composting material/soil . Tons popped up. It’s relative to their growing environment/conditions. However, a lot of people dry them and save them to plant.
I swear I heard that avocados kill/not good for chickens I would look that up
@@largepackage2322 the skin and the pit are toxic. You are correct.. I never feed them this portion.. however, the tender flesh in small Quantities has never harmed them. :)
@@4theloveofgarden wouldn't that be dangerous for a tree if one falls and they eat the flesh it's probably fine along you make sure to pick them before hand
Q: Where can I buy some seeds? I want to plant some on my garden in Africa.
@@malissawhite4569 that’s a great question hopefully someone who reads your comment can chime in. I welcome people to do so. I’m unsure as here in Florida someone may find that at a tropical nursery. I actually took that from my mom’s property lol and it comes as a rhizome not a seed similar to Ginger and turmeric. I have videos on planting ginger to give you an idea what you’re looking for in a rhizome.
😂😂😂😂 clown
I am so happy for you!!!! Jealous but happy ❤😅
@@AliceInOnederland please allow me to inspire you to do what you can with your own space that’s why I’m here is to encourage empower and inspire and hopefully educate a little as well.. lol love to share my journey what I’ve learned along the way
How many years did it take from seed to fruit? My food forest just entered 1 year and I’m praying for what God has to offer going forward. It’s so exciting not having to go out and buy😊
@@roughgrousse247 fantastic! please look into Permaculture. It’s a natural way of growing working with nature just like a forest doesn’t need our help it’s a similar environment you’re creating and designing. A person I learned from via RUclips when I first started my journey you can find him on RUclips. He’s a pioneer for Permaculture. His name is Geoff Lawton/permaculture. A great video to start is “what is a food forest” love that video.
@@roughgrousse247 to answer your question I started my journey from scratch Ground Zero in 2020 that little tree was gifted to me as a tiny little stick growing from a neighbor in a little pot. I’m unsure how long he had been growing it so that’s the variable but I planted it I believe it was 2021 as a tiny little tree about , 3 feet tall at the time and it’s huge now and it just gave me avocados for the first time so exciting it’s a beautiful surprise unexpected actually I thought it was going to be 5 to 7 years.
@ That’s great! I planted one from seed 2 years ago and it’s approximately 6 feet so I’m well on my way.😁 Have a blessed and beautiful week🙏🏽
Beautiful! I know that kind of joy❤️🙏🏽
@@roughgrousse247 oh, I’m so glad you do. My dream is for everyone to understand this type of joy once again, and get back in touch with nature it’s a beautiful experience.
What is shampoo ginger?
It's a tropical perennial plant. Type of ginger
I learned that I can grow this ginger in Boise Zone 7.
Wow that’s amazing!!
lol, I wish. It's already -2C at night in my country
Oh my!!! I can’t imagine living in that type of cold.. burrr! Love warm weather with more growing opportunity also.
Mango in zone 9b? 😮
No more videos?
Sure check out the shorts section. :)
My dad used to have one back in Cuba, the bush was planted before I was born and I enjoyed eating those cherries at my dad’s house. Now I’m in the US and I just got a Barbados cherry plant to remember my childhood
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing! Yes they can be very prolific also! Yummy!
This bush can get very large. It seems to have very few pests, and is easy to propagate from cuttings.
True and the humming birds just love it. Thank you for sharing! Great info! :)
Nature did not make itself. Thats like sayin a baby made itself. Jesus Christ is our maker, He was given authority from the Father to create all things and all people. Sad to hear people giving nature the credit when all of nature testifies of its Creator, the One outside of space, time, and matter.
I LIKE IT!!
Thank you. :)
My granny draw the leaves. But i think she mistakes it for another similar herb. They both should turn the water red when steeped.
Really? I haven’t experimented with that. Just as a rub for the insect bites. :)
May I know why it was planted slanted like that?
Absolutely! It is at a slant to creat more surface growing area and also allows more nodes to be submerged in soil. Also when harvesting I can’t imagine digging 4 feet into the ground as it’s a challenge as it is to pull the roots aka yucca. Have you also checked out the harvesting video just prior? Huge yucca harvest!
What about circulating the pathogens 😢
Really? I'm about to move into a house with only one tree! I wanna plant a fast growing tree. I'm in Central Florida. Will this one be a good choice for me?
This is a wonderful tree for fast growing! Also gives dappled sunlight which allows for additional growing space.
I planted some if this in my garden and now have 3 chrysalis's!!
Yay!! That’s wonderful! Thank you for sharing.
I grew this variety for the first time this year. I’m obsessed with it. So beautiful. Low maintenance if any and it can provide some nice shade for the garden as well.
Yay! Fantastic!! Me toooo! Adds color in the yard also! So pretty!
Lid or no lid?
Hmmm. Well if it’s going to rain than lid.
How long do you wait before releasing?
When they are ready wings uncurled dried eating they are set to go!
Huh....
Juicy mango
Oh yes!!! Yummy!
What is your zone? Yours look great where did you get your seeds?
Thank you! I got seeds online.. :)
Zone 9b
Lol there's cleaner ways to eat a mango 🥭
I'm growing it ... beautiful plant ,it smells amazing
Doesn’t it?!? Love the smell of ginger
Good idea! Maybe crack the egg to help it decompose faster ! 👍
Absolutely!
Thank you for this advice!!
Very welcome! Love to share what I have learned along the way.
