Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

George if you and bang average ever fancy joining me on a water where pike exist up to 40lb gizz shout it will cost us each about 160 but that's with a lakeside roof over our heads then give me a shout, average fish that are caught are up in the 20plus mark. and its not miles away from where we all live but it is exclusive water. you will though need bite alarms rod pod and pocket alarm as you will lose rods and not be able to sleep while fishing without them, these fish drags rods in buddy. the 480 between us will get us 4/5 days in luxury too.

Nice Fish! I know you're using braided line! But even that will twist as it pulls through the drag system, while trying too reel at the same time will make it worse! But when using a spinning reel if you tighten the drag all the way down! Click it to the free reel mode! Listen to the line & rod, you'll be able to hear the tension and you just reverse reel keeping the rod at the 10 o'clock position letting the rod and reel doing most of the work, like yo-yoing the fish, tiring out the fish out faster & will be able to get the fish in quicker and released in better shape by reducing allegic acid build up in the fish especially on hot days! Line twist doubles on mono & flouracarbon lines! Also be able to fish even lighter lines, smaller diameter farther cast! With Pike you'll probably need a shock leader of 6' long 2x the main line! Try finding the old two hook Rapalas F-18 if you can find them? They are at almost an 1 oz+- but can be fish like jerk bait (walk the dog) striaght retrieved and cover up to a 5' depth very versatile bait! And are a thick 7" baits! The perfect size foliage for pike! Old school Rebel Jumpin Minnow & Heddon Spooks both walking the dog type baits! The J-13 & J-11 can be fished like a jerk baits letting float up to the surface after a hard rip! Sometimes triggers a strike because it looks like the bait is being attacked by another fish and letting it float up, makes it look like it's stunned! An easy meal just like making any lure fished in a zig zag is an unnatural movement unless it's dying or being chased! Again an easy meal! TMI! be cool Byrne

You usually get bigger pike out of rivers on lures than a canal. That why I always take a bigger net. Those jointed Rap lures are brilliant. Well done on that pike you caught, beautiful fish, they fight like hell on the Severn. 👍

The leafs are doing my head in on canal lately everything grabbing them and using the float the hook line settles on the had to do some walking to find clean parts lined with trees were I am and it’s narrow. Only way to avoid is with pole which I’m not into. If you go fishing pike in a real popular place can you do a educational vid to tell folk how a pikes mouth go together as some fishermen throw them back with the bottom jaw over the top after it’s been pulled over while reeled in. Good vid
