God I love how Sua is finally getting her chance to shine and show everybody what she’s made of, both vocally and with her rap. I hope she continues to find opportunities like this, either solo or in Billlie’s discography because her rapping abilities are such an untapped gold mine.
It's ridiculous how restricted girl groups and their concepts are. Even in more powerful concepts, it's rare to let the rappers get anything more than a simple rap, especially if they're not writing the lyrics themselves. If they do have a good rap, it's usually in the bsides rather than the title tracks. It's no surprise that a lot of the girls here - especially Moonbyul, Jimin, Exy and Mimi - are amazing rappers. I'm excited to see what's next on the show!

What I want is to find this subtitled somewhere. I haven't been able to find a place that has actual good subtitles for this show. I've started getting into Billlie recently and love their music, but I really just want girl group rappers to be able to pop off like boy groups do.
I have a feeling that they might rap too, it depends alot of what songs they cover/remake, but maybe we'll have heavy vocal songs with a solid rapid verse in the finale

I just saw a ranking video of Twice, BLACKPINK, EXO and BTS in different categories and it kinda made me curious about one thing Could you maybe tell me how would the ranking of rap lines from those groups look like? With reasoning if possible? I totally expect BTS's rap line taking the first 3 spots, but I'm curious about how it will look like below them IMO, the ranking that I saw had some interesting takes which is why I'm curious to how your list would look like!
1. Suga 2. RM 3. Jhope 4. Chanyeol 5. Jennie 6. Lisa 7. Chaeyoung 8. Sehun 9. Dahyun 10. Momo Suga / RM / and Jhope are easily the best for obvious reasons Chanyeol is a solid 3rd. He’s probably the best idol rapper out there, as someone who doesn’t *want* to rap but does it anyways. Jennie & Lisa are basically at the same level. They’ve shown flashes but still lack consistency and quantity. Chaeyoung is super overrated imo. Everyone who talks her up uses her Sixteen raps, which is a fair point in 2016… but it’s been over 7 years now and she hasn’t done anything close to that level since. Sehun is like, Chanyeol but worse 😂 idk how to describe it. Dahyun is like Chae, but without the flashes of excellence. And yeah, there’s Momo who has the title of rapline but doesn’t really rap.

I actually expected to see Chaeyoung higher since I've seen a lot of people pulling out the "she writes some of her bars" card or at least "she has written some of her bars" so it's a surprising change to see her below Jennie and Lisa! I really thought her writing would put her at an advantage in comparison to Jennie and Lisa I've also seen people saying the same for Sehun 😂 Not complaining tho lol Also, wow I heard that Chanyeol has some good stuff, but I've never actually seen someone truly appreciating him Maybe he is just overlooked, because EXO is known as a vocal group 😂 One more question tho - Where would Jungkook land here? In the ranking I talked about in the main comment he was included and also put above Lisa, Chaeyoung and Sehun which is one of the biggest hot takes of that ranking lol
I like to think: Just because someone writes their own bars, doesn't automatically make them good. Nowadays, a lot of fans think "Write own music = best", especially when it comes to rapping, but if you write very, average or subpar bars, it doesn't make you automatically better to me. For Chae to climb the list of best and be closer to the top, on any list, she needs to release a solo like Nayeon & Jihyo are getting, except she needs to write her own rap in it and have it be super impressive. However I doubt that would happen. I've actually never heard anyone make a claim for Sehun being anything above "average... most put him below average from what I've seen. For Jungkook, he'd be probably be below Lisa I think. It's been a long time since he's truly rapped, and while some of it has some impressive stuff, I think his rapping is on par with Jennie or Lisa, maybe even slightly lower.
Putting rap in a good song is like cooking a delicious meal and serving it with a turd. Even if the turd has the perfect shape, colour and consistency it always ruins ruins the meal.
Outside of Soyeon & Yezi, please name me raps from GG songs that are on bar with Bobby, RM, Changbin, Mino, Jooheon type rapping in terms of flow/rhyme scheme/lyrics/etc, and are self written. I’ll wait.
@@carkpop i get your point. Girlgroup rappers have waaaay more restrictions when it comes to writing their own stuff compared to the idol male rappers. EXY though, you got to give this woman all the flowers for consistently delivering quality verses after verses, AND still managed to blend in well with WJSN sounds. Miryo alone destroys every single rapper you mentioned, male or female, but again she’s already a legend so it’s kinda unfair to compare anyone to her.
To be honest, they do not embody this whole rap thing enough. We have limited GOOD female rappers. That girl from Billie ATE. The energy, flow and stage presence. Of course Mimi is so good too. Exy was sassy with hers. Loved it. The rest honestly, they're great idols but I really don't know about their rap. Jimin was more focused on rapping all her lines in the fast pace rather than actually PERFORMING. Yubin's stage presence was all over the place and she wasn't connected at all. That was poor.
