Actually just took a tank of blacks down because they were a disappointment, I've tried black ones a couple times and too big of a pain. This one was like a third black, a third chocolate, and a third blue. Culled them down to only blacks twice over the year I had them and were still 50% blacks and then 25% chocolate and 25% blue. Maybe if I personally liked them it would be fun to improve, but don't really care that much for them to be honest lol.
With neos any inert sand or gravel works. I've had several successful bare bottom shrimp tanks over the years. With neos you just want plain old regular sand or gravel.
Man, I've tried a lot of different mosses over the years, and I can get some to do ok with a fertilizer regimen, but many without actively caring for them fade out. I got this moss as pilo moss years ago. Without any effort, it grew way better than any other moss I had, so I just started tossing it in all my tanks. When I reset 20g tanks, I will usually start with 2 or 3 handfuls. Then, when I reset the tank for shrimp breeding purposes in 6 to 12 months, the tank will be full of it. I don't really nerd out on the plants. The plants and especially moss are vital in my opinion to breed shrimp like I do. So I stick with what works best and try a few new things here and there as far as plants go. I found a formula that works and stick to it, making tweaks here and there. So I end up with around 40 big tanks full of the same moss lol.
ADIDAS: All day I dream about shrimp.
Lol 🤣😂🦐
Happy Thanksgiving, Mark. Showing off my new fire and ice and blue dream shrimp to my Thanksgiving guests was fun. The shrimp are doing great!
@ChristieFL89 awesome they're doing good for ya 👍
Thank you, my Thanksgiving was pretty good, sounds like you and shrimp had a good one 👍
Love the honesty - I only currently have 9 (more soon) but I am obsessed with my shrimp
👍
Thanks for the tour
👍
Wow, what a journey, from the start in the closet. To tanks all over the house. It’s been good to see how things have slowly progressed
Thank you, been at it for a minute now 👍
I may have missed it Mark but I didn’t notice a tank of Black Neos. Jet Black Neos look cool. Are you looking to have a line of Black Neos sometime?

Need some pleco's and some shrimp again, will check back with you on Friday :)
Sounds good! 👍
I know how you feel 😂
😁👍
Man, this is a dream. I can not start a colony. I think my substrate is the problem. What do you recommend for substrate?

Hello Mark what is the black substrate that your using? Is it aqusoil
@@larryhenry719 black diamond blasting sand. Get the biggest grit that you can and rinse it clear outside in a bucket before use.
Your intro reminds me of Bubba Gump, in a good way lol.
Lol
What moss do you have in all the tanks and how long has it taken them to get that large? My mosses won’t grow…
