- This is a video I shot whilst on a short visit to Ireland a couple of weeks ago, i'll be back over this summer!
Here we see a Dublin Bus driver driving VG16 like he has stole it, which is funny because he was wearing an Adidas tracksuit instead of his Dublin Bus uniform, however what amazed me the most about this trip was how fast this B9TL went through the gears and got up to speed! It just goes to show just how well Dublin bus maintains their fleet, I mean this thing absolutely charged up every hill that got thrown at it and was going from 0-40mph quicker than an E40D would on full kickdown! (I know some biased E40D lovers won't agree on me with this but just listen to how fast this thing got up to speed and compare it to an E40D and you'll see what I mean)
"SO TOM WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" - Yes I know, It's been way too long since my last upload, i've been so incredibly busy with work and starting my aerial photography company, AerPix, that I have had barely any time for this channel...well now i'm back!

Yes you read that correctly, 4K uploads will be coming very soon as I've managed to grab myself a Sony A6300, one of the best cameras you can get for my type of shooting! :-)

Yep. That is typical of a ZF Ecolife gearbox. (The gearbox in this bus) it is ment to be fuel efficient.
Great video Tom. Love the VGs!! they are so nippy. These are well better buses than the GT class as they have the older B9TL Engine.. was on DT3 the other day and let me tell you.. it was an EPIC trip! Kickdown all the way video coming soon!
Thanks buddy, you are right the VG's have the Euro 4 standard D9B-260 engine and the GT's have the more restricted Euro 5 D9B-260 engine. Glad to hear you're experiencing more kickdown on the DT's!

Nice thrash these are, I don't think there is any B9TL with the Enviro 400 MMC bodywork because that would make the perfect combination in my opinion as Volvo buses are rock solid and will do almost anything asked of them.
When I was on AV415, the driver was wearing a grey hoodie instead of a DB jumper. Hahahaha.

@@IC-qf7ev 4 years later… just so god damn busy at the time man, i’ll pull me finger out this summer me thinks, get some old POV driving clips uploaded from my CityBus days. Won’t be able to film anything new now as I work for National Express and we all know what they’re like with filming 🙄

40mp unfortuantely :/ On motorways they are restricted to 50mph. They have some sort of location based speed limiter installed, very weird.
...noisy interior,noisy engine,this VOLVO Bus Suck's! The Japanese city bus (Mitsubishi/ISUZU} is far better than this! quieter interior and less engine noise!
Richard Esma Very true it is noisy! The rattly interior is courtesy of WrightBus hahaha. Despite that though I do love these, they’re incredibly nippy and surprisingly comfortable! If you’re not a fan of noise i’d suggest you stay away from my channel because I like my buses loud ;-) Thanks for watching.
