Now this in specific is what really brought out HDR on the monitor for me. Just got this monitor and really thought HDR was mid even after the firmware update, so I was thinking I was just going to do SDR for now. But after this im rocking HDR completely now, now that I've gotten it to be as bright and vibrant as I'd like it to be. This monitor is amazing and just got better, I agree when people say that this is the best you can get on the market at the moment. Thank you for uploading this video, without it I would not have known this!
I have a PG38UQ and all of a sudden my games looked real washed out. Spent an hour playing with in game settings, Windows HDR calibration and even reinstalled drivers. This video was a life saver - thanks!
For those who had trouble installing firmware, move the firmware update exe from downloads to the root directory (C:\). After taking all precautions from Asus about unplugging all usb and closing all other programs, this solved it.
I did this too.. I was watching your last vids wondering if you had done this yet… I figured you had but whatever. I’m happy you are showing this so everyone can take advantage of the RoG sweetness
have they fixed the VRR flicker? I didnt pull the trigger on this monitor because of RTings review. Poor HDR brightness (still bad after update) and VRR flicker?
flicker is due to high frame instability with vrr on which happens mostly in menus and loading screens on ALL pc setups. If you have flicker in the game itself then you need to adjust your graphic settings so you have a tighter frame window. Also turn on vsync and gsync in nvdia control panel but always tturn off vsync in game. Control Panel should handle it. Set your monitors frame cap to 2 or 3 fps below your max refresh in control panel too and this will help with vsync overshoot. Finally in all games set your frame cap to unlimited or off if you can't set it to unlimited or your 237 cap you set in control panel.
Great video but what if im using it on Mac and mainly using GeForce now service, i switch it out to HDR10 from dolby and it looks very dull and im not getting the full true color of the oled. Any tweaks i can do other than windows ?
I'm curious if you can foresee 4K UHD movies be worthy alternative from this screen compared to a smart tv in an ample size, like 65 inch.Would appreciate hearing your comment.
Ive been doing this for months but this isnt how its supposed to be, why even have a menu? We cant access anything. Nothing works on the app, its basically worthless. Ive never had a monitor or TV that works in this way.

@@LANDONINAPC Colour meauserement was performed from many respectable media outlets and all are reporting that Console Hdr without the boost is the most colour accurate mode. So i guess you are used to saturated colours and they seem washed out to your eyes.
Just because it's better color doesn't mean it has to be washed out. Look up HDR reviews on this monitor and 90 percent of people will tell you it doesn't look good at all on HDR. Like I said, if you want black and white HDR keep the default Settings.
Asus has always been about colour accuracy, following the eotf curve properly etc . If you want a super over saturated vibrant monitor buy the samsung qd oled monitors or Tv's. Just some a advice after ownning alot qd oled monitors and tv's w oled. Nothing wrong with people wanting to sacrifice accuracy for pop / virbrance but maybe avoid the monitors / Tvs that shoot for proper accuracy over anything else Tv's would be sony and monitors would be asus etc
@hassanaslam6008 sweet! I didnt know if adrenaline would let you do that, I dont use Radeon cards so I wasn't sure. That's good to hear though. This made a big change for me. Let me know what you think.
@hassanaslam6008 idk about that lol. I haven't heard many good things about that application amd have also heard even to this day that Radeon still has issues withd rivers. Think about how long the Nvidia CP has been out and the time spent making that application what it is today. That's my thoughts honestly.

Just be careful of Digital Vibrance because you can blow out the colors too much and you'll just get blobs of color!

Wow, this is insane 🎉
How do I do this on ps5?
Honestly just increased the vibrancy by 2% and I’m happy enough. Once the games start, I don’t notice washed out colours anyway.
tutorial: how to kill accuracy and have a completely broken image.
If you make small changes it looks very good. I was making big changes to prove a point.

how do I get access to these if I don't have a PC...
i asked the same question to myself how the hell i update this without pc.

why dont i have the HDR format option like you have?

does the monitor tilt vertical and how high does the stand go up, that may be a disadvantage if not high enough

is there a reason u chose HDR10 instead of Dolby? im on dolby it looks amazing, is HDR10 better?
Because there is less native Dolby support so windows tries to convert data signal on HDR10 and result is not good.

@zodiachild36 edit the settings in the Nvidia control panel it will really help you out. Are you using Console HDR with adaptive brightness on?
No still dimmer compared to aorus on ps5.
when i plug the monitor into the power, the monitor suddenly turns on. even though i didn't press the power button. is that normal?
