It starts off a little slow but once you start to get more and more upgrades it becomes VERY good. The last few missions were fantastic. From around the middle of the game it starts to hook you in and by the end you are completely immersed. The graphics were nice, gameplay was spot on, story was absolutely impeccable. From the title, I expected the video to be about games exclusive to the Xboxes, and assumed there would be another on the way that was about games exclusive to the PS5, but the title is misleading, because it's about games for available on the Xboxes, but some are also on the PS5 or PC. The title might as well be 'Good Games of 2023'.

Understandable. Sadly, it’s the worst console to choose from since it has zero exclusives thanks to Microsoft doing the whole PC thing. I see no reason to own one unless it’s to “be different”. A PS5 does the same but has exclusives. A high-end gaming PC does the same with the same games but with better performance.
I sunk 45 hours into Starfield. I gave it a shot but i just could not get into it. Lo and behold, Cyberpunk dropped a massive update with 2.0 and PL and I have quickly sunk 160 hours in and Im loving it. I understand the no mans sky comparisons, but I feel that in those areas NMS does it much better. And then seeing the neon in Starfield vs Cyberpunk was such a drastically different experience with Starfield once again feeling dull. I’ll continue to wait for the physical version of Alan Wake 2, I’m not going to support digital only games. And if never comes out I’ll wait for a full version for 10€. It’s a shame they don’t release all games physically anymore.
With you on this, I am not completely against a download, but I will prefer physical over D/L anyday... at least I can play it within an hour rather than wait for the download which could take hours (starfield just took forever to d/l)
What a year for games. I spent a LOT of time in Starfield, and loved it. And I agree, the faction quests and a lot of the side missions are great. Next up is BG3, and HiFi Rush looks like something I will love to play on SteamDeck. Thanks for everything, Jake and Gameranx!
BG3 is not a "souls-like" game, so you don't need to perform those perfectly timed parries and dodges. Yet I won't call it easy as well, as it relies in random-number-generation behind the scenes and you need to plan your moves, buffs and debuffs (make constant saves and re-loads to save your party from a bad-run).
Starfield is exactly what I was expecting. Like every bethesda game before it its not the compelling story, the most graphically impressive but the fun lies in making your own story and just exploring the world. I'd say games like red dead redemption 2 and the witcher 3 are far superior but starfield is still worth playing and hours and hours of fun.
I played four of these. Three were huge disappointments: Starfield, Diablo 4 and Hogwarts Legacy. Jedi Survivor was good (though I feel it has a somewhat immature or unpolished feel). I’ve really got to get BG3 though.
I feel the same about Starfield. Huge disappointment, but I just ended up playing Lies of P at that time, so I forgot about it pretty quick. I played the Diablo 4 beta weekend and loved it. Will probably get it on sale at some point
Unpopular opinion. Remnant 2 sucked. The story was phoned in. They didn’t improve on anything from the first game in fact they actually took away from it. The archetype system would have been cool if you weren’t limited to 30 trait points on top of that being able to use a second archetype limiting you even more. I say 30 trait points because normally people would give themselves the max health and stamina and possibly spirit. Having so many rings in the game took away from the fun of exploring and finding things. You’d just round a corner and pick up a ring then two minutes later pick up yet another ring. In my experience 9/10 that ring wouldn’t be helpful to your build or improve on it. The visuals in the levels were amazing. The levels themselves just didn’t seem to grab my attention. Yes, you had more guns and armor to pick from but in the end it didn’t matter. The first game made you want to reroll the levels to see the new things you got or fight new enemies and made you want to play it over and over. I didn’t feel that with this one. The ending to it just made the whole experience even worse because the decision that was made had no weight to it. (I won’t spoil it for those who are enjoying it and have yet to see the end) It made me sad to play it and even more sad that I spent the money on it. I hope in future updates they decide to fix things or figure out a way to rewrite the ending to it. I gave it three chances with different archetypes every time, trying different builds, and forcing myself to explore more but it fell short for me. I am happy for those that play it and love it and enjoy it because games are an escape or time to relax. It’s just a bummer when you don’t get that from a game, especially when you were excited for it. -B3
Not to be picky but, you put starfield as number 2 and praised it even though you called it a huge disappointment in your last video... Maybe it should've been an honorable mention.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to see Starfield in this list, even less so high up in the ranking. But yeah, it is actually good. I also really really enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy, had an absolute blast while it lasted. And I also tried Hi-fi Rush and liked the idea but honestly I found the action too repetitive too soon
@@dafuzzymonster i can understand why you find my assertion ironical, but yes. The thing is in Starfield at least there a million things to do. You don’t like combat? Go build your ship. You don’t like doing chores? Go decor your place. There is a lot of variety of stuff to do thst, yes, in itself can be repetitive. But there’s a lot. In Hi-fi Rush there’s basically one thing to do -or at least there was as far as the two or three hours of game I went to- and you either like it or not. And, again, I did like it but grew tired of it fast.
@@rubbermyducky5998 Sure, but if you play close attention to that video, it actually sets up a debate. Was it actually disappointing? And, yes, in some ways, sure, but not even close in so many others. So I did’t expect to see it here because it is controversial and not a game-of-the-year contender, not because it is bad, cause it’s not.

With you on this, I am not completely against a download, but I will prefer physical over D/L anyday... at least I can play it within an hour rather than wait for the download which could take hours (starfield just took forever to d/l)
Currently playing wwe2k23, EA FC, RDR2 and Gotham knights
Surprised Lies of P didn't get a shout out. That game is incredible
What a year for games. I spent a LOT of time in Starfield, and loved it. And I agree, the faction quests and a lot of the side missions are great. Next up is BG3, and HiFi Rush looks like something I will love to play on SteamDeck. Thanks for everything, Jake and Gameranx!
56 hours into Starfield then I couldn’t finish it.
Arguably one of the most boring games of the year.
@@simpleemodern The main quest was ok...the best stuff was in the side quests. Exploration was boring.
Surprised not to see Lies of P on here. My game of the year.
Is Baldurs Gate 3 a difficult game like souls and Elden Ring?
More difficult like persona you realize it's turn based gameplay
BG3 is not a "souls-like" game, so you don't need to perform those perfectly timed parries and dodges. Yet I won't call it easy as well, as it relies in random-number-generation behind the scenes and you need to plan your moves, buffs and debuffs (make constant saves and re-loads to save your party from a bad-run).
It's hard just in a different way 😂
Starfield is exactly what I was expecting. Like every bethesda game before it its not the compelling story, the most graphically impressive but the fun lies in making your own story and just exploring the world.
I'd say games like red dead redemption 2 and the witcher 3 are far superior but starfield is still worth playing and hours and hours of fun.
Man was too scared to talk about HOGWARTS LEGACY 😅
Best content
No lies of P on this list is out of pocket.
Loving remnant but it’s bloody hard and I find myself getting smothered by the enemies
Give Alan Wake 2 a go.
This channel *HATES* Dead Space 😂 Starfield? Minecraft? Cocoon? Fortza? DLC for Cyberpunk? Y’all wild boiiiii.
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON BEST PC GAME SERIES TO PLAY LIKE DEVIL MAY CRY FRANCHISE AND OTHER PLEAAS
I’m surprised you put Starfield where it was.
Oh, I thought this would be all exclusive titles.
With what Xbox exclusives😂
@@MtpMuzik Fair point
I played four of these. Three were huge disappointments: Starfield, Diablo 4 and Hogwarts Legacy. Jedi Survivor was good (though I feel it has a somewhat immature or unpolished feel).
I’ve really got to get BG3 though.
I feel the same about Starfield. Huge disappointment, but I just ended up playing Lies of P at that time, so I forgot about it pretty quick. I played the Diablo 4 beta weekend and loved it. Will probably get it on sale at some point
Missing a lot of better smaller games. Bomb rush cyberfunk, mortal kombat are 2 that are definitely better than number 10
Bomb rush is amazing.
Starfield feels like a empty world. Feels soulless. Love the idea of "end game" loop for powers is incrediblely boring.
I've been eating off of fornite, hogwarts legacy and starfield
All those exclusives! Well done Xbox! 😂
Staefield LET'S GOOOO XBOX
Still hoping to play Alan Wake 2 soon...as soon as it comes to Steam
What is the game in the title card???
Hogwarts Legacy
Remnant 2. Massively overlooked
The lack of exclusives on this list is just sad.
Most are not exclusive third party games though...
How was "Lies of P" not on this list?
Why tf is starfield in here
starfield is a very good i reached on it new game + 10 .
Starfield was garbage and i really hope they sort it out would love to play it again
That Cocoon angle caught me off guard.
Why specify the console if the games aren’t exclude to it??
List with 0 surprise..only mainstream games from big studios, with bunch of marketing, and not one single indie game.
The monetization in MK1 made me not want to play it ever again. It's just disgusting.
Nice
You literally can’t make this video unless you pad it with multipats. 😂
Starfield was crap. Never gonna buy Bethrsda again.
Wasn't It free with game pass? It was shit regardless but yea
Not to be picky but, you put starfield as number 2 and praised it even though you called it a huge disappointment in your last video... Maybe it should've been an honorable mention.
7 out of 10 games on this list were also on competing consoles. Does Xbox have no interest in exclusives anymore?
Imortal fenix rising is the best game ever 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿
Nice!
Thanks!
I wish you put Lies Of P for 2023 Amazing game to me..
If these are the best games for xbox then I don't want one lol. I'll stick to the PS5
You found hifi rush repetitive but you liked starfeild?
I'm surprised to see starfield up so high too. Especially since they just made a video with how disappointing it was.
@@Marchelo1988 It was a debate for sure. My point is, falcon himself said he thought it was a disappointment in the video. Just weird to me that he specifically chose it to be #2 on the list.
Quantum Break is not xbox exclusive, it's also on pc.
Not mentioning Lies of P and mentioning Starfield is an actual crime. Though with how good last year was, it's understandable.
