I love this! They really are amazing live. The drums can actually affect your heartbeat, it's a very cool experience. Their live show is like watching an opera, they have so much happening on stage. FYI there's a new live vid up for a song called Anoana that is a bit newer than this vid and shows more of the current band lineup. It's really beautiful, check it out. (Also side-note to anyone interested, the shaman Kai has his own clothing company now called Old-Norse and owns an ancient style tattoo shop). One of my fav things about this band is that they donate portions of their tour money from US to help reforest parts of US by paying to plant new trees!!! It feel to me, the way they tour, that they are working to spread "healing" to the earth and its people

In the beginning part of”Tawo athado, ekirilaz, Othuthiwaz, Nivarimariz, Sowilagar, Hatika-Hara!” Is Porto-Germanic. The language that all Germanic languages, including English descend from. It’s a prayer to the Germanic gods, Óðin and Tyr.

This is the best idea. A reaction channel that funnels into another reaction channel.
I think this is the first time anyone has done this.

The first part is a call upon pagan Germanic gods to aid in battle, and roughly translates (according to Lyrics Translate) as:
    Come, guest Tyr
    For this invocation
I, the Rune Master, servant of Odin, call upon the one of the Sun to aid our army
The next part is a recitation of the names of the Germanic runes (it's probably the coolest alphabet song ever):
Fehu, Uruz, Thurisaz, Ansuz, Raidho, Kenaz, Gebo, Wunjo, Hagal, Naudhiz, Isa, Jera, Eihwaz, Perthro, Algiz, Sowelo, Tiwaz, Berkano, Ehwaz, Mannaz, Laguz, Ingwaz, Dagaz, Othala.
(English: Wealth, Aurochs, Thorn, Divine Breath, Travel, Torch, Gift, Joy, Hail, Need, Ice, Harvest, Tree, Luck, Elk, Sun, Creator, Birch tree, Horse, Man, Water, Fertility, Day, Home)
Finally, it ends with a call to prepare for battle.

I love how a man who seems to be a devout Pakistani Muslim can resonate to a proto-germanic pagan chant.
It's almost as of none of us actually know what the divine actually is... As if we're all just reaching out from the dark, and we grasp whatever hand, or hands, we touch.

It's cool the comment you make about going back into history. That is literally one of their founding ideas is to take traditional music from a time when we were more in tune with the earth and provide a healing through that music.

I hope you can see them live someday! If you do, please take a camera with you and document the experience! Maybe you could do a GoFundMe for the trip, I bet people would contribute 😊

I enjoyed your thoughts being in depth not just to how it makes you feel but what it makes you imagine. Imagination is one of the most important things we have as humans. Thanks for sharing yours! Edited to add: This song was used VERY effectively in the ad-campaign for the upcoming game "Hellblade II"!

Saw them live 3 weeks ago and knew it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I worked for weeks making a shaman outfit for the ritual. It was the most amazing experience, being there, feeling other humans around me, their spirits, and dancing, chanting... if you can go, don't miss it. Thank you for your reaction

they go further afield than northern europe the oldest song they have recreated is Nikkal. based on the lyrics of Hurrian Hynm No 6 which is over 3400 years old inscribed in cuneiform on clay tablets excavated from the ancient Amorite-Canaanite city of Ugarit, i think in the 1950's

A lot of people don't realize that Caucasians have an ancient culture too. But we lost it.
Thanks to bands like this they're saving what little we have left of it. Heilung think of themselves as historians.
India is so lucky they have kept so much of theirs for so long.

It's a shamanic Ritual. From Beginn to the End, not just a normal Concert. They played with Human Blood on the Drums (But dont worry, they used her owen Blood), Human Bones and Human Ashes. But is not a bad Ritual! You find this kind of Shamanism today in parts of Finnland, in the Mongolia and in Siberia (Not by the Russians, but by the Natives of this Landscape). In this "Religion" - i dont know a better Word, English is not my native Tounge - are good Ghosts and Gods sometimes Warriors. They must fighting to protect ... and thats aIntro for Wars. "Krigsgaldr" (War Screams), a other Song from this Band, is a part of this Song. The complete "Concert" is for free here on RUclips.
It was a Ritual to Protect the Inocent and save the World ... ;)
There exists an Amphi Interview with "Kai Uwe Faust", the Bull-Shaman in the Middle. There you can get more Information about it.
