Sorry buy never jet wash a bike! I took a large piece of paint off the front mudguard of a RG500 back in the day...I've never used one since. Jet washes are for HGV's and tractors not barely dirty bikes ;)
Just stumbled on this video. It always puzzles me why these pro's use lots and lots of water, on bikes as well as cars. I never use any high pressure stuff. Water and steel do not mix too well. On my bikes I use water, 2 buckets, for the fairing and other bodywork stuff. Never on the frame. In the old days bicycle shops use(d) a light oil to clean a bicycle. I use this stuff on metal parts of my bikes as well. Must be my age 🙂.
This is a video of how NOT to wash your bike. Didnt clean fork stenstions, front sprocket or radiator gaurd. Clean chain and wheels first, then spray all the gunk away. Then wash bike top to bottom. Different cloth for metals, different cloths for plastics. Could go on and on. Takes half a day to just wash a bike properly. Never apply wax or polish in direct sunlight EVER.
Like a woman, start at top and work your way down. If I'm after a dry spin with just flies & dust to remove, then I just use a spray bottle with water & wet down the area I'm about to work on. Then use baby wipes as a cloth & dry up moisture with micro fibre cloth. I leave the wheels till last, spray with WD-40 and wipe off with baby wipes, For wax, I use cheap Lidl furniture polish. Leave the chain till last...de grease, use the proper 3 sided brush cleaner tool, remove excess with old cloth & re-lube. Job is OXO.

“Get your jetwash” ah that’s me fucked then , 1 minute in hahaha, great vid boys
Not rocket science, but for those without an airline, buy a cheap “Henry” type vacuum cleaner with blow function, eg Titan @£35. It will blow warm air after a few minutes use and drys all your nooks and crannies in minutes, this avoiding post wash dribbles- ooh err Mavis.
Splendid channel chaps👍. Thanks - Touring Grandpa
Sorry buy never jet wash a bike! I took a large piece of paint off the front mudguard of a RG500 back in the day...I've never used one since. Jet washes are for HGV's and tractors not barely dirty bikes ;)
Why was not a "Montage Ständer" in use? And ...why are the Aerodynamiccovers on the Motorbike?
6:30 hand straight out of the bucket, through the hair. I have a shaved head and still feel uncomfortable
Would vinegar work on the pipes in pace of acid?
Just stumbled on this video. It always puzzles me why these pro's use lots and lots of water, on bikes as well as cars. I never use any high pressure stuff. Water and steel do not mix too well. On my bikes I use water, 2 buckets, for the fairing and other bodywork stuff. Never on the frame. In the old days bicycle shops use(d) a light oil to clean a bicycle. I use this stuff on metal parts of my bikes as well. Must be my age 🙂.
"I've got a receding err-line ya reckon?" LMFAOOO
And what bolt went missing on mine so far I have lost two screen bolts and the left grip bolt lol
Top tip - don't forget your sunblock !
Buncobooth I noticed he looked ever so slightly frazzled.
I’d def do the bodywork with a new clean cloth and the other parts (wheels, forks etc) afterwards.
Job is OXO.
That diluted acid on the exhaust/header was a great tip.
Just use a massive microfiber mitt. Way faster... sponge? Dont be silly. Only thing I would use a jet wash for is the flies on the radiator.
Saw this video when it was new and I still don't know what type of acid he used. Can you please list it in the video description? Read lots of comments, funny, but haven't found it yet.
Instead of compressed air to dry the bike a "pet dryer" works better as it's high speed hot air.
Watching this in March 2021
-" post lockdown, lockdowns easing"
HAH! i wish
Just joining the chorus - What Acid is he using to clean the exhaust pipes - How much water to Acid?
I'm looking forward to the mega test, I'm a bit of a fan boy so I hope you don't mind me politely introducing myself and talking bikes :)
I once used a jet wash on my old k2 gsxr750 years ago. Water got into the main loom plug and left me stranded 4 roads from home the next time I rode it. Never again have I or will I jet wash a bike.
Can we get a bit more information on the product used to clean the titanium exhaust?
