    I never heard UAW asking for people to do a better job - craftsmanship and dedication . We get new cars with harness scuffs , shorts ,pinches , bolts loose , and other nightmares . Imagine the short cuts they will take as factory to save money if this go trough - not that the quality is stellar those days .

      People like you obviously don't have a clue about what you're talking about. Quality issues are RARELY THE RESULT OF POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP. GENERALLY IT'S THE RESULT OF POOR ENGINEERING, POOR MACHINE WORK AND TOOLING, AND POOR JUDGMENT IN MANAGEMENT, PUSHING THE GARBAGE OUT OF THE DOOR KNOWING THAT THE PRODUCT IS SHITTY. BUT LOW MINDED PEOPLE LIKE YOU AUTOMATICALLY WANT TO BLAME THE LOWEST PERSON. THERE'S SO MUCH INVOLVED IN IT BUT YOU IGNORANT PIECES OF SHIITE COULDN'T CARE LESS.

      They haven't had a raise since before the financial crisis. I'm an auto worker in Canada. Yes, our union is nothing but a bunch of common criminals. They got money from the government to push the companies into mandating the Covid gene therapies and than didn't file a single grievance in the entire country. But the company can't get people to work for them. They go to job fairs and don't receive a single job application. We actually have people quitting to go work elsewhere for 50% increases in pay and benefits. These jobs suck and these companies suck. I tell younger workers to consider looking for work elsewhere. No sense getting trapped in a health damaging job because you have so many years towards your pension and retirement benefits. The 32 hour work week makes no sense since we're mandated to work 6 days/48 hours by the government anyway. I think these companies are preparing to disappear. Not go bankrupt but to actually just close their doors. The level of technical incompetence in the company is beyond what you'd think possible. At my plant we just got approval to update a few more cells and the guy put in charge is an MBA. It makes no difference since even engineering is totally incompetent. Our level of productivity is so low that the plant shouldn't remain open. It's one mistake after another. Management spends all their energy lying to corporate about what went wrong. Legacy car companies will never transition to EVs because they aren't vertically integrated and therefore can't figure out how to get an electric mirror or electric seat to talk to the main computer. All these systems come from suppliers and are black boxes. EVs make zero sense environmentally but if we do push those by mandating them than Tesla and Chinese companies and probably Toyota and Honda and Mazda will be the only survivors. VW got 40 billion Euros from the German government to go electric and now admits their cars don't work and they will rebadge Chinese EVs instead. They're already starting to admit EVs make no sense and cannot be done. Not enough electricity, copper, lithium and much worse for the environment and too expensive. EVs are probably being brought in because we wont be allowed to have cars at all. 15 minute cities and cricket powder for all of us mindless cowards.

    • @apacheworrier3776
      @apacheworrier3776 Год назад

      And they are too dumb to realize 60% of them will lose their jobs because of Democrats forcing EV’s on Americans. Almost all of the dumb Union workers vote for the party that’s trying to destroy their jobs.

There was a time when corps could run their companies, pay living wages to workers provide benefits and pension reinvest in their business and give bacj a crumb or two to their local community and still make a profit. Now those were Company Presidents to emulate! Today's CEOs own govt politicians, have open borders a global market place for exploitation few to no employee benefits and stagnant wages. They need not invest a penny in the local community and in fact demand Tax Abatements and threaten leaving for Mexico if their demands aren't met. Battery cars are not the exclusive option we have to decarbonize our world.
    “Hydrogen fuel cell cars, which like electric vehicles also produce zero emissions, have a far higher number of components because the working of a fuel cell engine closely resembles petrol engines. Many of the parts needed can be produced by existing suppliers to the industry.
    ‘Hydrogen technology means people who make internal combustion engines can still have jobs,’ said Sae Hoon Kim, Hyundai’s director of fuel cell projects. ‘We have 300 major suppliers [for the hydrogen car], and most of them are our conventional vehicle suppliers.’” (Financial Times)
    Nonetheless, our Department of Energy remains obsessed with battery cars and has made no plans whatsoever to build a hydrogen pipeline to connect our major cities - a threshold requirement recognized 20 years ago by General Motors. Ironically, neither have the oil companies themselves made any such hydrogen pipeline building plans - although hydrogen fits nicely in their existing business model for the delivery of gasoline and diesel. And this is so despite hydrogen promising to be the ultimate lifeline for oil companies when battery cars take hold.

    I started in Lorain at $13.47 with full benefits including ETAP. The tiered pay was negotiated by the UAW for the past 20+ years. Increases or the lack there of have been negotiated by the UAW. I started on the rivot line and took my ass to school working 10 hours a day 40-50 hours a week on the worst jobs. Took 3 years to make full wage. During the recession when many of these same low skilled workers bought sub prime mortgages I took the buyout and finished my eduaction, busted my ass, and made it on my own. These people are always crying and think they all should be living large and working less. They want the job but don't want to work. This will only bring on more robots. The economy is too expensive for most low skilled workers. Low skilled workers can't afford luxury. Stop comparing thousands of low skilled workers to the few people who run the company. A big hit from the EV nonsense is coming anyway. My crystal ball sees future Government Bailouts coming.

      They can't compete with competitors because all their money goes to the top executives and stock. Workers wages only account for 4% of the cost. You should watch more of the uaw livestreama then you will know why workers demand a 40% raise. It's also because the executives gotten a 40% raise when the company was breaking record profits.

      AI has the potential of taking over many jobs, this is already the path we are on and already on their minds because that is our culture. The hope is we can begin changing the culture on how we view workers, as people deserving of a better way of life. Hopefully then when AI is truly implemented, we’ll have people in power caring about people and not just simply looking to get rid of all the workers they no longer need.

    Foreign made cars are now much better than US made cars!
    The higher wages (of most union members) goes to union dues (union org and union leaders who have inflated salaries). There are too many lazy and incompetent union members (& too many supervisors) even with government union workers; I would estimate, more than 40%. Union members get pay raises based on seniority, not on productivity. Replace them with foreign workers; the economy will be better in the long run!
