In 1995 Michelle Pfeiffer said in the movie Dangerous Minds there are no victims in this classroom. In 2024 if a real teacher said this the classroom would get offended and walk out and the teacher would get fired.

The one good thing coming out of these college protests, is that it is making lots of 18-22 year old Americans politically aware in other parts of the world and not just function and care in their own bubble. By the way, thought I'd point this out. As a lifelong history buff, the last time college students protested this much was against the Vietnam War and for Civil Rights back in the '60's. There's been some comparisons. It's night and day, and an apples to oranges comparison. However, the difference was both of those protests ultimately had a positive impact. Making the Military Draft optional, and getting the Civil Rights act of 1964 passed through congress, and signed off by President Lyndon B. Johnson. For several years after that you still had college students across America peacefully protesting for Civil Rights.
Big difference though is, the US was HEAVILY involved militarily and people were drafted. To protest here in America for a country across the globe, and cause chaos to Americans trying to live their lives is terrorism.
@cryptothedawg1160 yup. These protests aren't fighting for Equality but are fighting to take away one groups privilege and give it to another..
Mmmm what... protesting for a terrorist nation will change what? What did all the Vietnam protests do.. make ppl spit on my father when returning home.. civil rights did what?0ya inner city's are doing great huh..Really? New anti discrimination homosexuality laws are passed still? For what? Liberals and politicians are the worst..
There’s a lot more that went into the civil rights act. Then Lyndon B Johnson destroyed the black community and created the welfare system and ruined millions of families with extra incentive on single parent homes. Having a direct correlation with serious issues today. From gang violence, murders, theft, sexual assault, high school drop out rate, unemployment and high incarceration rate. Back then people protested issues with critical thought and passion. Today’s protest are brainwashed and manipulated opinions that aren’t their own.
Freedom of speech is what makes our morals heard and why other countries look up to us. Don't put your narrative on what is exactly what our countrymen fight for daily. Crack a book, touch some grass and stop being a snowflake.@@cryptothedawg1160

I miss Seinfeld. When TV shows were worth watching.
Grew up in NYC and lived for many years on Upper West Side with its large Jewish population, where most of the "Seinfeld" episodes took place. Have a certain amount of Jewish blood in me and NONE of my Jewish friends or I ever watched that show.
We never thought it was particularly funny or even clever. Just kind of insipid and boring... not really reflective of the pulse and vtality of New York at all. More of a dull suburban flavor to it.
Always seemed like more of a cultish thing mainly enjoyed by out-of-towners like my friend in Connecticut who thought it was 'hilarious' for example.

Snowflakes.
It's amazing to me that not one of the comments showed any empathy at all for the civilians in Gaza. There have been over 34,000 deaths. Seventy percent are women and children. That's a war crime. If you are willing to overlook it because you support Israel, there's something wrong with you. I support Israel and am against Hamas, but I don't condone this kind of slaughter, and you shouldn't either.
Right. Because Jerry Seinfeld is responsible for all the turmoil in the Middle East. You're so brave.
Thousands of people die every day across the world due to conflict and terror. If you're in the United States, you should be thanking your lucky stars they haven't reactivated the draft to participate in that particular conflict. You should ultimately care as much for all the other conflicts that ravage states in Africa and eastern Europe but you don't because you're just following trends...trends that have nothing to do with you and trends you don't or shouldn't directly involve yourself in. If you're from the middle east, I suggest booking a ticket and going there to help them yourself.
Same here . Humanity is humanity .
Israel is doing the best they can to limit civilian deaths; part of the reason it's extremely challenging to do so is because Hamas keep repeatedly using hospitals as military installations, and also keep using children as human shields. Additionally, this ignores the fact that the "35,000 civilian deaths" number repeatedly quoted by the MSM is actually based on a statistical lie; because Hamas' armed forces are technically staffed by "military irregulars", the "35,000 deaths" number is created by combining the "Hamas combatant" death count and the "general public" death count into a single number. When the statistical cookery is taken away, the true civilian death count is drastically lower.
What makes you think I don't care about other conflicts? I can multitask. I do thank my lucky stars that I live in the US but that doesn't make me indifferent to suffering elsewhere in the world. And it shouldn't. Either you don't care about the suffering of others, or you have a particular animus against the people in Gaza. Either way, it's pretty beastly of you.
They should have dropped out before graduation if the feel so strongly about their cause 😂

I'm not Pro-Palestine and I'm not Pro-Isael. I'm for World Peace, in other words I want both sides to get along and love each other. I'm unable to comprehend the 80-100 year intense bitter rivalry between the two territorial nations/divisions. I'm all for protests, but they aren't doing anything other than dividing the U.S. some more. In my opinion these protests are nothing but wasted energy. The Prime Minister of Israel is aware of the college students doing this across America and doesn't care. He's going to have his way with Gaza/Palestine anyway.
This is not a complicated issue at all. In 1948, hundreds of thousands of European refugees flooded into Palestine and kicked 750,000 Palestinians out of their ancestral homes. @@cryptothedawg1160 Okay, let's go way back. Palestine has been a place with a people for all of recorded history. Here are some facts from historical and archaeological records:
*The first known written reference to Palestine (Peleset) was c.1150 BCE at the temple of Medinet Habu in hieroglyphics.
*The Palestinians were among those who fought with Egypt during the reign of Ramesses III.
*The region between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea was referred to as “Palestine” by the Greek historian Herodotus (“the father of history”) during the 5th century BCE.
*100 years later, in the mid-4th Century BCE, Aristotle referred to Palestine while discussing the Dead Sea in his ‘Meteorology’.
*Jewish historian Josephus’ (c.37-100 CE) ‘The Jewish War, Antiquities of the Jews’ contains many references to both Palestine and Palestinians.
*Contemporaries of Jesus routinely referred to Palestine.
*In the first decade of the 1st Century, the Roman poet Ovid mentioned Palestine in both his famed mythological poem Metamorphoses and his erotic elegy ‘The Art of Love’. He also wrote of “the waters of Palestine” in his calendrical poem ‘Fasti’.
*Around the same time, another Latin poet, Tibullus wrote of “the crowded cities of Palestine” in the section ‘Messalla’s Triumph’ of his poem ‘Delia’.
*The claim that the Roman emperor Hadrian officially changed the name of the region to Syria Palaestina or simply Palestine in 135 CE is contradicted by the fact that by then, the term Palestine had already been in use for over 600 years.
*The oldest surviving map of Palestine is thought to be from Ptolemy’s “Geography” c. 150 CE.
*When the Muslim Arabs arrived in Palestine in the 7th century CE (and liberated its Jewish population from Byzantine oppression), they retained the administrative organization of the territory of Palestine as it had been under the Romans and later the Byzantines. They referred to the territory as Filastin (no “P” in Arabic.)
*“Dictionary of the Lands,” written by geographer Yaqut ibn Abdullah al-Hamawi in 1225 states that Palestine’s “most famous cities are Ashkelon, Ramle, Gaza, Arsuf, Caesaria, Nablus, Jericho, Jaffa and Beit Guvrin.”
*In 1603, Shakespeare wrote in his play Othello: “I know a lady in Venice who would have walked barefoot to Palestine for a touch of his nether lip.” (Act IV, Scene iii.)
*In 1863, The Religious Tract Society of London published its “Pictorial Journey Through the Holy Land; or Scenes of Palestine.”
