Absolutely- you don’t need the tools if you don’t have the budget set aside. They are great for letting you see information at a glance, but you can do the research for free too- it’ll just take a little more time. I didn’t use any tools for my first 4 years on Etsy :)
@@jayswayworks Wow thats good to know, I'm hoping this q4 will be different I ve done a lot of changes based on videos like yours so, here we go. Still loving it though.
I’ll recommend Printify and I do have a coupon code with my link (in description) for a 30 day free trial of their “premium” option which will save you around $3 per t-shirt. If you’re looking for a vintage look, check out the Comfort Colors 1717 t-shirt :) Thanks for watching!
Hi Jay! I thought from a prior video that do use the comfort colors name in your title, but you do need to put the R in the circle next to it. Am I understanding correctly now to not use the R symbol after the comfort colors name in your title or descriptions?
You only want to use the alpha mask feature with the alpha mask designated textures. The other textures will result in semi transparent pixels which do not print well. Somebody should do a video comparing the difference in real life, after washing, etc, but I understand why technically semi transparent pixels should be avoided.
Please do it and report back! I've had no issues thus far, and no customer complaints... I think the semi-transparent pixels issue is a thing of the past (at least for small pieces like in a grunge effect) - all it seems to do is slightly choke (make tighter) the distressing a little which doesn't really impact the print. When we printed our own stuff 3-4 years ago, I tried with raster semi-transparent effects as well as full 100% vector distressing and the prints came out the same except that the raster ones were a little 'less' distressed. Not visible to the untrained eye not at 6 feet away. Hope this makes sense. Definitely go ahead and try it and order samples so you know what it looks like yourself though - and please upload a video and report back!
Wait a minute, Printify is saying NOT to use the Registered Trademark symbol in titles for Comfort Colors? After seeing one of your other recent videos mentioning to include this, I just added these to all my titles… Just want to clarify here.
Ya - so back in the day for Gerber Onesie® we HAD to use the ®, but this article from Printify says otherwise.. help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/27152555360657-What-should-I-keep-in-mind-when-selling-branded-products As usual, I did reach out to the source yesterday, but not expecting an answer from Gildan / Comfort Colors until Monday. I will report back for sure. It's kind of like the "I did" thing with "who made it" in Etsy.. I always put "I did" because that's what Etsy said to put, but RUclipsrs and Printify all said to put "Another Company" - even though Etsy themselves said otherwise. Trust, but ALWAYS verify! Rest assured, i will report back!
So I did this before I ever saw this video in this identical way. We got samples from Printful and you can see next to NO texture on them AT ALL. I went and checked the file. I am wondering if they can't process or see opacity levels (like if it isn't a full cut out part in the PNG? and it just paints it as is. I am super disappointed at the fact it is non existent. Can anyone seeing this say they have done this and actually got a product that looked like your image?
It used to be this way for sure (semi transparent pixels would still have the white ink layed down if they weren't transparent enough but it hasn't been an issue for me lately. I'll make a video on how to do this in Adobe Illustrator to make sure it's 100% transparent. It could also be that your "distressed" pieces were just way too small too (if they were transparent enough). Usually anything under 5% hadn't been getting printed but again, if the "piece" is super small then it wouldn't even get recognized. You can try emailing me your print file to check if you want (email in description).
Thats a helpful tip, thanks
Wonderful video, Jay! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Great videos Jay. Ive no luck with tees on etsy but will try this 🤞PS: Jay would I ever be able to succeed without everbee?

Wonderful tutorial. I'm looking for supplier that offer the affordable washed t-shirts. These are great canvas for vintage designs. Any advice?

Please read my reply to the same question above :)
I will definitely report back when confirmed

THIS. This is what I just commented about. My design that is very textured on screen and in Kittl is very NOT in real life
