I have my power wheels hooked up and I gotta go on forward and backwards but then when I hook up the actuator it goes to one side and then I just seen in your video where I may have to adjust those little blue knobs on the actuator is that correct
@DadHacks Could you post a video covering how you set up the remote control portion of the build? Pumping mine up to 24 volts was a breeze but I am new to RC and need a little shove in the right direction for the drive train. What Transmitter and receiver did you use? What speed controller do you have hooked up to the motors that can handle 24V?
Take a look at this video. ruclips.net/video/EO-0Ea-m0BE/видео.htmlsi=3Cppol4DjqgAuyaT I only went up to 12 volts. For 24 volts, look from a “Brushed 6s ESC”. 6s is just the battery specs which is around 25 volts.
Would you know if this eac can handle higher voltage than 12V ? I am planning on using 18V battery pack to run my 775 size brushed motors and was wondering if this set up is even for me? Please advise . Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Probably not. Look for an ESC that can handle 24 volts, sometimes the specs say it can handle a “6s battery”. You’ll also want one that can handle 50 amps
@@DadHacks gotcha. that gets more complicated. I was just thinking of running the esc based on a separate battery cell like the other vid you have and sticking with a higher Voltage battery to get more performance out of the 18V motors. But I am not sure if the Chinese esc units are designed to work with a 2.4ghz receiver ?
That's awesome dude!
Love it! I'm going to do this mod for my son's Star Wars land speeder! Great work!
Liking your videos very detailed unlike some of the other videos
Can’t wait for that linear actuator video! 🙌🏼💯
Just found your channel - love it. Want to do the same thing to my large size power wheels
It’s a fun project, though the hardest part is the steering setup!
@@DadHacks is it your r8 still running strong ?
@@PeterSiekiera yup, still running strong!
Would you recommend the same actuator you have on your Audi or something faster for a bigger power wheels ( that’s what I got )

Great video, thanks for the inspiration! Quick question, which ESC are you using for the power wheels motors?
I think it was a Hobbywing RC Brushed ESC
Can the kid still drive the car normally after the mod?
ingenious 👍... most actuonix actuators tend to be rated 20% duty cycle. What duty cycle would you recommend for this project?

Is the actuator hard to mount, or get in place? only thing im not sure on
It’s not too difficult, just as long as you have the right drill bit
I bet it really spooks your neighbors when they see the car driving itself! 🙈🙊
Perfect for the “headless horseman” Halloween costume
Havent these been mass produced since 2015? I remember seeing them on amazon when my friends son was born. His wife banned him from getting it… ha ja
