I have a 1994 VFR that was leaking fuel from the carbs so a complete strip and rebuild was needed. To be honest the best bet is to completely strip every component and clean them in an ultrasonic bath filled with hot water and carb cleaner, this will remove all the unseen muck and it makes a huge difference. When rebuilding I used kits obtained from a company called Techlite who are based in Thailand. The kits were perfect and included all new springs , washers, o rings etc and all fitted perfectly and they are ethanol resistant. Even better they are a fraction of the eye watering price of genuine Honda kits, when checking out I did get a scare when the total came to around 26,000 Bart , however it actually equated to about £54.00 including postage. Lastly BEFORE you take anything apart take photos of everything your doing, this will be essential when rebuilding the carbs. Good Luck.
Any reason for writing down the screw head turns on the mixer screws? Wouldn't you just put back to factory setting i.e 1.75 head turns? Genuinely interested as I am just about to refurb mine
We are writing down the screws turns because perhaps we don't know the factory settings or perhaps the screws settings are different from factory settings for better performance.
Nice video.👍What do you think the reason of those big differences, I think there was 1.3/4 to 2,3/4 on screws. Was the old settings your own by vacuumtest or idle test?
The differences are because those are old carburetors and some parts are having small damages. In any bike i make the air fuel mixture adjustment by the plugs colour. ruclips.net/video/uuEqNQbjSR4/видео.html
my vf750c is hard to start when cold, after it works the 2 exhausts on the right side are cold for some time and the bike works failing, I have to accelerate at high rpm for the carburettors to unlock and then it works fine, but when it is cold it always happens the same. What could it be? thanks
@@mastorakos they were cleaned in a workshop, and the bike worked well, then after a while it started to fail when cold... do you think that a motul carburetor cleaning additive to add to the gas tank will do the trick?
if you going to clean a full set remove all the parts and make sure the jets are cleaned and dipped over night in carb cleaner, you just blowing the old crap off the surface m8 . not impressed

ive done this job many times. theres no need to remove the mainjet from the emulsion tube.

Any improvement?
Yes. Run much better.

most likely the carburetors.

You can try it, but i don't think it will make any difference.
classic sign of partly-blocked idle jets
How do you remove the needle from the diaphragm
Watch this video at 2.45 ruclips.net/video/aAM8JQ-70Zk/видео.html. Different carburetors but exactly the same procedure.

I’m to scared to try it lol😅
Then you better don't.
