Hence the word "nostalgia" it's sentimental.. It's youth.. brings back alot of memories for us... friends we used to play day in and day out with may not still be here.. It's been that long. I get slightly emotional... It's good. Thasnk you Lord for keeping me and my family safe and allowing us to play a classic such as mario.
ShiningStudios14 Well just because it's heard a lot doesn't mean it's popular. I never hear anyone talk about this track, is what I was saying. It's underrated in the gaming community. You hear the town song all the time in Zelda 2, and there's nothing more i hate in the world than that song.
+Spaceman music HA HAAAAA !!!!! I had to fast forward to 9:25 to hear what you were talking about. HA HAAAAA !!! Got a good laugh out of it. For some reason, when I come looking for game tracks I always run into individuals from neighborhood areas. No matter where you're from or how hard you are we all have these tracks that share at one point in our lives. Respect from CA. L.A. - Salaamu A Leikum !
Seriously the BEST game I have ever played. The joy I experienced playing this game cannot be compared. I'm sad for kids today not being able to experience the same sense of imagination in videogames. I mean, videogames are awesome now, but with those SNES graphics, our imaginations filled in all the gaps, and it made it that much better.
And feel like some of us felt in old times? No. Little kids of today, prefer playing CoD than classic games, such this. They wouldn't bother for such a masterpiece.
My brother, friend and I played the original NES Mario Bros games constantly in the late 80s. Then when he received the Super NES the Christmas it came out, we couldn't wait to get our hands on this game. Didn't disappoint. Wish we could be in our teens again.
@Fat Chocobo They are the same musical theme. Not the same song. Which makes this game's soundtrack even more substantial, because it's really hard to make a lot of songs out of the same theme without being repetitive. That's why i think this game's soundtrack is one of the bests of all time.
+Tornado1994 Oh well, it was kind of their first game like that, so it could be expected that there would be some issues. They've certainly gotten way better as time went on.
Listening to the castle and ghost house tracks reminds me of how I had my older brother play those levels for me, because I was always scared of them as a little kid. Such a timeless game.
it really all depends which version it is you're on about! when the NES came out I thouhgt the soundtracks were rubbish but then the SNES came out and the first game I got for it was Mario allstars + super mario world and the soundtracks on those were way better! 3 and world were just as good! in fact 2 and 1 and lost worlds were good too :)
Actually many people believe Super Mario World to be better. As far as Mario games go, especially 2D ones, it's between those two. Surely if you like SMB3, you'll like SMW.
BouArmy Super Mario World was my childhood :) I played the game over and over and over, found most, if not all the secrets, got all the coins, got every one of the yoshi's to the finish (different colors), and managed to get all the apples on Yoshi's tree :) I'm lost in nostalgia right now
There was something magical about walking down the main aisle at Kmart and hearing these songs coming from the SNES kiosk around the corner. Those days are gone forever
Got the SNES for Christmas in 1993 when I was 11. Played the living shit out of this game. I was convinced there were 100 stage completions and not just 96, so I kept playing and playing lol.
One of my most prized possessions is my SNES. This game was likely Mario at his finest but then there was Link to the Past (Link's finest hour), Super Metroid (one of my all-time favorite games in general), Super Contra 3, Super Mario Kart, Final Fantasy III & IV, Super Castlevania, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Turtles in Time, Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox... Some of the best video games ever made came from this system.
I replayed this game after many many years and had my mind completely blown when I realized that the main melody from the Overworld theme can be found in one form or another in pretty much every playable level's music. Listen for it in: Underground, Bonus Level, Athletic, Castle, Underwater, and Ghost House. Just awesome, Nintendo. Just awesome.
Oh, I remember hooking up my gameboy player to my Gamecube and going on a marathon of all the Super Mario Bros. series for the gameboy advance. DAMN THOSE WERE THE TIMES.
The sound design of this is incredible. It's not just the music itself, but how the music reflects gameplay like the 'Yoshi Drums' and speeding up the music when time is running out.
The world sucks now. Most people know it. Everyone’s unhappy. But hearing this music and remembering the days of playing this game when we were younger and things were simpler and easier makes everything ok again for a few minutes.
while I do agree with your opinion I think you are going about it in a pessimistic way. while I do agree that nowadays life can be harder it doesn't mean we should do nothing about it besides complaining how life used to be simpler.
I remember when I found out the athletic theme was also used in the ghost house, and underwater (just different arrangements) . My mind was blown XD This is probably my all time favorite game.

3 was a game changer, that game changed the industry i swear! I'll never forget when it came out and all the hype leading up to it, and it delivered! It cemented Mario's formula. But Super Mario World is still my favorite, those sprites... that ost! Just amazing!

Damn, this video rewrites my childhood! ;-; ;-; ;-; So nostalgic! Even I playing a emulator almost everyday I still will have chills when hear this songs!
Franz Janganieri Barbosa Definitely!!! :') We basically lived a social utopia being kids in the 80's and 90's. It was, in many ways, a dream-come-true. The atmosphere itself was otherworldy. So naive, full of a collective sense of solidarity... Arcades were at top form, everything was new... 3D, CD, internet... Today's times feel pretty much like a dystopia for me by comparison. It's terrible. I'd give ANYTHING to go back in time. The 90's were really happy times.
Franz Janganieri Barbosa Yup. Sadly. Back then I still had "friends". Now, all I have are mostly "strategical short-term relationships". It's really basically a dystopia in comparison to what went before.
This soundtrack is only a half hour long?! I can, and have, listened to half-hour extended tracks to several of these songs individually. I can't imagine that the entire soundtrack takes up only a half hour. Inconceivable.
THE NOSTALGIA!! this made me wanna cry! my nephew knows this song because of some RUclipsrs, he will never know the thrill of playing Mario for the first time and thinking is the best game in the whole uiverse
It's cool hearing this in stereo with headphones on. Little things I missed on my crappy old monophonic TV. Anyone else ever notice how when you get on Yoshi it adds bongos to the music? I wonder if the Special Zone Mario one samba music is in here?
The special zone via the the star road was overlooked by most. An Easter egg could be found if you stayed on the screen awhile and let the music play. The trademark Mario song that started it all. Most people just clicked on ahead but good things come to those who wait. When I heard the change in music to the island beat, I freaked out! 😳
Ending track took me back to those childhood days when Nintendo ruled videogame industry; family, friends, good shows on TV, toys: 90s’s life. We had everything and we didn’t know it.

A peaceful evening.
Mom preparing my favourite dinner.
My uncle calling me on the old landline phone notifying me of his upcoming visit.
Me looking at the train tickets, bound to visit my grandparents.
Dad ringing the doorbell, with gifts and delicious fruits in his hands.
Ah, memories 🥰
I didn't live your life, but your comment made me tear up, because the childhood memories are mutual even though they're not the same.
Damb has it really been that long?
Sounds sweet dude. I used it like an escape . What a great escape. Yoshi was like my own digital Dog.
Dad gets whip goes downhill from there
That was nice to read. Miss the old times
Every single song is a masterpiece.

Castle is one of the most underrated tracks ever. I would sometimes stand by the boss door just to listen to it. Rest in peace Mr.Iwata.
oxDestroxo Me too, Castle and Underground were always my favorites :)
+oxDestroxo Wasn't it Mr Kondo?
Ed Ram Yes , he composed this. i just was paying my respects to him , that's all.
I LOVE THE CATSLE THEME fitting with a horror movie kinda
ShiningStudios14 Well just because it's heard a lot doesn't mean it's popular. I never hear anyone talk about this track, is what I was saying. It's underrated in the gaming community. You hear the town song all the time in Zelda 2, and there's nothing more i hate in the world than that song.
Whenever you jumped onto Yoshi's back, the Yoshi drums made each song epic lol.
ITS BONGOS!!!!!
good times
Thank God for RUclips and the people who upload these timeless classics by the hundreds and thousands.
Ending Theme and Castle Theme have been stuck in my head for a long time and they are still great after 31 years when the game was released.
Castle-theme is propably Kondo's best work on this game. Such a powerful classical song.
I agree.
its fantastic, but for me Athletic (7:33) is the defining tune
I see the same great quality in all songs, not castle theme above the rest
Every track in the game is just a variation of the same, single song
Listen closely enough, you’ll notice the melodies are the same
It's definitely Kondo's masterpiece
the castle songs plays everytime I step out the door here in Detroit

This is the second best SNES game of all time, right after LoZ: ALTtP. :3
Larry Pisan Wished I played that as much as I did this as a child. Oh well it's on the Wii U eShop so there's that. n-n
The "ending" track ( 23:22 ) is such a cheerful, happy and groovy little song!
I love it!
My brother, friend and I played the original NES Mario Bros games constantly in the late 80s. Then when he received the Super NES the Christmas it came out, we couldn't wait to get our hands on this game. Didn't disappoint. Wish we could be in our teens again.
There isn't a song on here that isn't stuck in my head
All the same so you list 6 songs out of 28
Wow sure proved me wrong on that one.
Celacanto Zueiro Damn, I hadn't actually noticed that...

Still the best game of the series! Love when you get Yoshi and Athletic comes on with the percussion.
13 ) Castle, hands down the best track in this list.

7:34 is my favorite :)

lágrimas heteras no meu olho! Que nostalgia, esse jogo sempre será inesquecível para muitos 😞
Sad knowing that we will never get this kind of game or music again... :'(
Indie games? 😊
@@nicolesproducerpack mario maker/2
It's cool hearing this in stereo with headphones on. Little things I missed on my crappy old monophonic TV.
Anyone else ever notice how when you get on Yoshi it adds bongos to the music? I wonder if the Special Zone Mario one samba music is in here?
So much you don't hear without headphones it's crazy this soundtrack's fantastic.
m3tafunj Yes! Star Road, 18
La mejor musica relajante de la historia...
relajante? ??????????????????????????
wow what a nice treat coming across this
didnt even search it up
thank you youtube for recommending me this historic treasure
The special zone via the the star road was overlooked by most. An Easter egg could be found if you stayed on the screen awhile and let the music play. The trademark Mario song that started it all. Most people just clicked on ahead but good things come to those who wait. When I heard the change in music to the island beat, I freaked out! 😳
Los años dorados de Nintendo :´) otra época como esa ya nunca va a haber.
Tienes razon 😖😭😭
Tienes razon x2 :(
quisiera haber nacido en esa epoca :(
Ejem... Nintendo... Ejem... Switch

Best game soundtrack ever!!! This music makes me happy! ❤
Todos los soundtracks son hermosos! Pero mis favoritos son el del Bonus Nivel, Atletic theme y el de Bowser 👌💜
I was 7 years old when I got this for Christmas back in the 90s
21:53 When your phone battery is on 2% but you are in the final boss of the game
21:50 You find out your phone is 1%
21:53 You are trying to find the charger
21:16 Your phone died and you were too late.
Ending track took me back to those childhood days when Nintendo ruled videogame industry; family, friends, good shows on TV, toys: 90s’s life. We had everything and we didn’t know it.
Eu chego a me arrepiar, nostalgia extrema vei😃
