Eleanor Burns on PBS is the person who lored me into the quilt world as a child. I was probably the only little girl waiting with anticipation for her next show!! When she did a series on the Underground Railroad quilts and there meaning I swore someday I would make them all. I started the monkey wrench/ churn dash recently, which was the first quilt on the journey but I always have too many projects going for family and friends I never have time for my own!! African American history is so important to our development as a country, I hope your works inspire more people to research their ancestors. I find it heartbreaking when I hear someone say they were just slaves. They were strong willed people who should be researched and celebrated. There’s probably soooo many stories that haven’t been told & should be used as learning tools for future generations. God bless & Keep on Quilting!!
