I was an extra in the movie 'Good Morning Vietnam'! I was living in Phuket Thailand where the movie was shot! I was in one of the army trucks in a traffic hold up'! Robin Williams just 'adlibbed' that scene I am sure ! Great guy, mixed with all the extra's --no exclusivity --a real down to earth guy! I'm happy to have briefly met him!
Crystal can be such a masterful wordsmith of threading beautiful ideas into mini-narratives. So touching and funny to hear his personable stories here.
Twice we attended Sting concerts with seats fifth row center and both times Robin Williams and Billy Crystal sat directly in front of us. They were very good friends and both were kind and genuine. The loss of Williams is a sad one and I can only imagine that his closest friends and family are carrying the weight of that loss even now. This was a lovely tribute. 💙
They say laughter is the best medicine. Just wish the laughter this man made / gave us helped him. The man will always be the best. No ands ifs or buts.
Beautifully said. I found this (from a zillion years ago .. don’t ask me how) and have been reading incredible stuff about incredible people. What a morning.. With love.. Liz Davies from Aus
He truly has a way with words. There's a warmth in his delivery that carries a soothing effect. The first time I watched 700 sundays I saw Billy Crystal in a whole new light.
Thanks Billy, those are beautiful words for Robin. I wish I had known him. Rest in peace Robin and thank you for all the laughs and memories. You’ll always be number one and the king of comedy in my books.
RIP Robin i still love watching you alive, putting a smile on our faces, warming our hearts and you never disapointed anyone. I just wish we could have done the same for you.
I saw him when he came to visit us in a deployed area. Part of my job was doing the sound for events and he was one of them. The one thing the sound guy never does is be center aisle because you never want to be seen. Since the cords we had were not long enough for me to be in the back of the audience, thats where i was. He gets on stage, the crowd is cheering and he gets going into his act. Within 2 minutes he looks directly at me and says, "Youre the sound guy who everyone will blame if they cant hear me". I said yes sir and without missing a beat i turned up the gain on his input for the microphone and a high pitch squeel went over the speakers. Everyone laughed and he looked back at me, smiled and gace me a thumbs up. RIP Robin. Depression is hard thing to cope with. I know i have it too. You have no idea the impact you had on so many lives.
Will it be 6 years now since this wonderful soul left us. As I said before in a way I'm glad he is gone & didn't suffer to much it would of been devastating to watch his wonderful mind sink into dementia !! And I'm glad he isn't around to see how cold , scared & sick the world has become it would of been to much for his beautiful to handle.
He already was sinking into dementia. He’d been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but *knew* something else was going on. He wasn’t ’himself’ and *knew* he wasn’t himself. As much as i think this is all a very bad dream, i give him ‘props’ for controlling how he died rather than allowing how he died to control his life.
I just wish he had of reached out too someone for help. so sad he's gone breaks do many miss him. I know he ran sliding into heaven "yelling iam here!!!!"
One of my favorite videos is him being his funny self with a cooking segment with martha Stewart if u haven't seen it plz go watch it i found it on utube may he rip i wonder if he ever knew how many lives he changed an how much actual love an joy he gave so many ppl ? My dad may he also rip reminded me so much of him he was so loving an funny an i watched a clip of his ex saying that he couldn't b serious like when she needed him to b for the kids n sometimes in life n general it reminded me of being little going to church n my dad would mess with me n my sisters like one of us sitting behind the other n hed tug our hair or something n say stop pulling ur sisters hair n the entire church would crack up laughing even the preacher lol cuz they knew him n of course my mom was horrified lol but she would still laugh he had the best sense of humor not always the cleanest comedy like robbin but always hysterical i miss my dad so much anyway apparently i ramble lol
Don't know the man. But touched all of our lives with his brilliance. Makes me miss him a great deal today. We need laughter like that today. Not harshness.
Not my opinion but from some one who dies temperately. He said he made some funny comments and two angels near him giggled. Yes the after life is real.
It's difficult to imagine someone like Robin Williams exisiting in today's pop culture. Every celebrity is so media trained to the point of absolute banality that such a unquie personality would never be allowed the platform to share their gifts with the world.
The World is a sadder place without Robin Williams...God Bless you

You are right! We all greet each other one day. I miss him and love him.
We stopped by Morks house that day, flowers festooned the fence, fans came from all over Colorado to mourn Robin Williams.
Absolutely beautiful!

I want Billy Crystal to do my eulogy!!
It was a great eulogy, you could go to oposite end of the scale, John Cleese's eulogy of Graeme Chapman was equally good, but very different.
I just wish he had of reached out too someone for help. so sad he's gone breaks do many miss him. I know he ran sliding into heaven "yelling iam here!!!!"

No one misses anyone they simply move on with their own lives as if nothing ever happened. Ur comment leads me to believe u are guilty of something.

I miss their kind of comedy.
BC ..nice ..you to!
Where is he now ????????????
This isn't a eulogy. It's a tribute. Sorry to Tenacious D, I had to steal your lyric to one of best songs in world.
why is there an edit? and is the original available somewhere?
"night clubs.........arenas"
What was cut out?
Robin Williams didn’t mean to kill himself what to him was an accident
😑🙏

My husband committed suicide 2 months after Robin❤
Never rated Crystal
But this is ok
I loved Robin Williams comedy...It was great.....but only because he was a freak.
Not close friends but more like close acquaintance.
Close friend would have checked in on a friend.
And you know he didn't how ?? Shameful comment.
*Hmmm,... and where were his Hollywood Friends?!!*
He didn't tell anybody.
Kosher meal rob inst even jewish
for a friend of 40 years his words were scripted and pathetic as he should have spoke from the heart
Reasonable people draft a speech beforehand for such an occasion. It doesn't mean it is w/out heart.
I only wish he would have let someone in his dark matter. Rip god bless
