I'm 58...seeing/hearing this for the first time and I just had to say it's a sheer pleasure to watch a young band like this creating their OWN sound. I'm definitely going to sit down and give these guys a good listen.

@@llabronco the windmill is a venue in london. squid, black midi and black country, new road among others have played there often as they were getting famous.
Just look around when there are crowd shots. When I first saw this I thought..."do they confiscate phones at the entrance???" Nope. Folks in England seem to just want to watch the show through their eyes...NOT their phones. Contrast that with just about any shot of a Coachella gig. Nothing but a sea of phone screens. What's up with that I wonder????
It's not to do with what countries people are from, its a generational thing. Plus the type of people that go to Coachella are very different to Glastonbury. I've been to wireless festival in London a few times and it's a sea of phones there.
It's more to do with the type of music and the crowd that it attracts, than the country in my opinion. Phones are always visible during big pop acts in England for example.
can not think a single heads song that sounds like 2:40 . also can't think of any era of the band that would be a comparable live act to squid (not in terms of quality but in terms of energy) edit- if squid repeats anything from the 70s it's devo. which i think is a great thing
Can you imagine how hard is to sing and playing drums at the same time? That guy is awesome
Take a look at the drummer of The Warning
Pretty sure that's why his voice is so unique, sounds like he's singing in a way that helps him keep time
A little comment here, check out Karren Carpenter. Amazing singer, amazing drummer....
Ask Brann Dailor of Mastodon.
I’m not sure you can call this singing.
The bongos are such a great touch to this song, holy cow
are congas:)
Surely this one of the best performances from this year's glasto
I was there and yes it was the absolute best.
One thing I really enjoy about seeing clips of these guys is they look like they’re having a blast playing.
absolute goated track, i remember hearing it for the first time in jan 2021 and being blown away by the intensity. still am to this day

This is bloody brilliant. One of the best up and coming bands!
first time learning squids singer is the drummer... I've been a fan for about half a year holy shit lad ahha
I sure hope the "I play mine" section gets the circle pit it deserves at their own gigs
The most interesting and exciting band today. Can’t wait for the next album.

It's like Talking Heads and Fugazi had a fucking cool baby.
And that baby had Tom Yorke as a nanny durring some formative years.
The baby might have grown up listening to Primus
Never heard a more apt description, that's crazy.
I cant freakin wait for the next album of music this band makes....

Wow, even thanking the stage attendant in the middle of the song? What a class act! Haha
That’s Arthur the dude on the keys lmao

Saw them in Manchester last week and they were BRILLIANT!
Shotout to that conga player, it elevated this song to another level
This band is amazing live, I got to see them on my birthday in Brooklyn was so fun
This is actually sick.
This was fucking awesome. And then the bongos hit. I was transported to new levels. Excellent. New fan right here.
More of this, please
They deserve a bigger stage
My favourite moment of 2022 Glastonbury
Squid 🐙 sound a little like Talking Heads back in 1979.
Agree, but not as good 😂
Probably but before Talking heads got more influenced by afrobeat

Might be a hot take but I don't think any of the other windmill bands have made a song as good as this one. I love it.
