Oh yes, the balance issues are extremely infuriating.. I'm continually looking for the next thing to hold on to as I'm "trying" to walk. I was diagnosed with MS in 2013 at the age of 41, but I'd been having symptoms prior to this since 2007 (age 35) after a significantly stressful event in my life (separation) which I believe activated my illness. Oh Neil I’ve only just got to your video! I have to say I am just so pleased for you! You look and sound so much better! A little wobble but standing and walking like that is great after just such a short time after the infusion! Teresa you are great staying all that time waiting for Neil to come out of the treatment. Well done. I know it’s not easy. I know you love him but so! Today was David’s birthday. So yesterday I thought I’d break my top left wisdom tooth...just so we’d have something to do today! I was in the chair for about an hour as it was awkward but not painful as such. Fingers crossed that the filling stays put now! (Hands are the same...) Good luck for tomorrow Neil ...oh and Tree that wreath is beautiful! You are a wonder. We managed to get our tree up and almost finished decorating it with our less breakable and precious items, but it looks lovely so that’s good! Yes, on the first day I could feel the steroids kicking in and working their magic, when standing up I had a lot more control instead of wobbling like jelly. Thanks Dean! Yes unfortunately hospital policy and no visitors allowed so my dear wife had to wait out in the corridor but she was comfortable. We were also in touch continually with our phones etc. Yes the cost of parking is annoying, it wouldn't be so bad if the money went to our NHS. I hope this message finds you well. Stay safe. 💞🙏

And ha ha, yes the hand has corrected itself.. the steroids make you store fluid so I'm pretty sure that is what it was. Take it easy. x

This is amazing Neil! I experienced balance issues since 2018 and fall daily. I've got a neurologist appointment tomorrow and see if I can get on methylprednisolone too.
Hey there, the balance issues are just horrible aren't they. Every single time I stand, I have to deal with balance issues and its very wearing as I'm sure you can appreciate also. I hope your appointment goes well.. for me the Methylprednisolone hits the inflammation in my spinal cord hard as a rule and I feel the effects immediately. Not so much this time though, but hopefully given a few more days fingers crossed. Take care.
@@NeilBradleyMS Hey Neil, the balance issues are difficult to adjust to because you don’t always have things to hold incase you do fall. My MRI is always on the brain. I’ve never had my spine scanned. I really hope your mobility vastly improves 👍🏽👍🏽
Hello There Neil and Teresa I am so glad you got got your new treatment I know to did say you will have to more treatments how may days or weeks or months do you have to wait for the next two treatments? Are you going to up date with a video for the next two IV treatments because I want to know how long the treatment helps you for your pain. I know it might take a little while to know how long your pain relief is from the IV treatment but please keep me informed and thank you for the happy birthday wishes for my self. And Neil nice Christmas Socks 🎅 I live in Pennsylvania in the United States I live on the East Coast and unfortunately parts of some of the neighboring states around pennsylvania are getting snow but where I live Pennsylvania I am in. The 18 Foot range for snow about 18 Inches. ⛄ Which I hate snow I don't want it :( but you both take care and I am praying for you both I am hoping this will be your golden ticket for you Neil for pain relief and to be able to move better. Hi Amanda, ohhh we've not had snow here just yet but to be honest it is very rare we do now where we live, usually just a sprinkling. I hope it's not to bad where you are, need to be extra careful. The Steroids are in an infusion over a course of three days at the hospital. I don't have to stay at the hospital, just visit as an out patient for each of the consecutive days. We've filmed a bit on each day, and I'm about to publish Day 2 today (17.12.2020) so hopefully you spot it come though on your notifications. Take care - Neil.
@@NeilBradleyMS yes I did catch your video early this Moring before I had to go out and take care of getting rid of that nasty snow I guess I get around 7 or 8 yucky inches :( My body is in pain but it had to be done and I pray NO MORE SNOW!!! even though the official day of winter for where I live don't start until December 21st and we all ready got it bad and winter did not start as of yet I got a feeling it's going to be along winter Cold is not a friend of mine at all !! Can't believe I had not looked this up before......but I just discovered that infusions of methylprednisolone (which you've just had), and solu-medrol (which I was given in hospital back in May) are actually one and the same. I don't remember what my dosage was, but it was an infusion over an hour, every day for 6 days in a row. There was no "flush" like you had, after my infusions. There was only a small amount of saline injected into the IV right after the infusion. Please let me know if you experience any emotional/mood side effects from the steroid, or any other side effects. I am so glad to see that you are feeling better!! Very pretty Christmas wreath!!!
Hey there, and thank you for your kind words. Methylprednisolone and Solu-Medrol is the same drug, it's just called different names depending on where you are in the world I think. Here in the UK we get the infusion for just over an hour for three consecutive days. But, I've also read or seen whereby this is also infusion over a five day period, personally I've never had this. There are some side effects, but as a rule there pretty ok to tolerate, for me anyway.. usually just flushing of the face, heart palpitations (not scary), insomnia that sort of thing. No real mood changes. Take care.
Love watching you guys videos and this one so hopeful with just having steroids infusion 👍🏽😁👏👏 Think ill ask for infusion next time instead of the huge amount of the oral version ( not as good, n never helped much with relapse like the infusion does but because of covid19 didn’t want to be in hospital. Next time ill try and get infusion Weather is feeling alot like Fall now here in much lower temperatures and cherry tree starting to loose leaves in the big winds now too Hows weather where your at ? Hi Mellie, I asked the hospital which type of steroid was more effective, the tablet form or the actual infusion. They said neither, and that both were as effective as each other. But I disagree, when I had the tablets I felt they did nothing for me at all and I didn't improve even slightly. However, when I've had the steroid via IV I do improve (as a rule) however, the last time when I had them was Dec 2020 and I didn't improve that time, but as I say usually I do. We are meant to be in mid-summer here in the UK but the weather (as you say) feels much like Autumn (The fall) with cooler temperatures. Hey Neil, My nurse saw me stagger into the hospital, in London, and said I should use the NHS service to take me to and from my appointment. I called the number and my nurse had emailed a note saying I needed transport. Save you car parking fees and the stress of finding a spot. My hospital is ten minutes walk from Oxford Street from tube. Thats how bad my walking is : (
Hey there Indie, thank you for this .. whilst I can still drive I prefer to use my car, because in a way I feel 'safer'. Whilst the hospital transport is an excellent service, quite often we can be left waiting a very long time which can be a painful thing for me. I don't like having to rely on someone else, but I appreciate a lot of people have to do this. The worst thing about the parking can in fact be the waiting for a spot, but at the moment (because of Covid) no visitors are allowed at the hospital, so we were in fact able to park straight away on all three days. Hope all is well with you.
@@NeilBradleyMS fair enough.for you. But driving in London in the west end is a nightmare and its impossible to find a parking space in the streets. Hospital has no parking at great moorland Street. So i have no choice really. Like everyone fed up in lockdown and working full time. At least the global company I work for within IT played a part in the develop of the vaccine. Good to see your walking has improved. Steroids seem to mess with my mind. I burst into tears at Anything when on them. Last lot was infusion 3 years ago for 5 days.
Hi Indie, ahh London is a totally different ball game when it comes to driving and parking. I see why you would prefer hospital transport, for sure. Yes, I do seem to recall at one point the tablet steroids I have to take every day (prednisolone) had an emotional effect, they made me somewhat irritable, a short fuse as it were. Certainly not like me, it did take a week or two to wear off and stop feeling that way. Take care.
Hope it. gives some relieve and reduce inflammation. I get infusion at least once year If I get real bad always feel my nerves start firing better after infusion.
I wish i could get steroids and feel fine. I started my steroids and they had to stop due to my excruciating stomach pain. Now my stomach is damaged and they need to deal with that first before continuing with my treatments.
Hey Sofia, I’m really sorry to hear this. Are you taking the tablet form of steroids? As a rule I always have a steroid infusion actually at the hospital whereby I have a cannula in the arm, and the steroid on a drip. It then goes straight into my blood stream bypassing the stomach. I know steroids tablets can really irritate the stomach.
@@NeilBradleyMS Hi, they were administering the IV type. I was feeling fine but the next day the stomach pain was unbearable. I did 3 doses but I couldn’t continue. Now I’m at the hospital with a really bad gastritis and active lesions on my brain and spine. I don’t know how they’re going to treat me. My MS flare up caused gastroparesis, that’s what my doctor said and wow... it’s just a lot right now.

This is amazing Neil! I experienced balance issues since 2018 and fall daily. I've got a neurologist appointment tomorrow and see if I can get on methylprednisolone too.
Hey there, the balance issues are just horrible aren't they. Every single time I stand, I have to deal with balance issues and its very wearing as I'm sure you can appreciate also. I hope your appointment goes well.. for me the Methylprednisolone hits the inflammation in my spinal cord hard as a rule and I feel the effects immediately. Not so much this time though, but hopefully given a few more days fingers crossed. Take care.

My MRI is always on the brain. I’ve never had my spine scanned.

Hello There Neil and Teresa I am so glad you got got your new treatment I know to did say you will have to more treatments how may days or weeks or months do you have to wait for the next two treatments? Are you going to up date with a video for the next two IV treatments because I want to know how long the treatment helps you for your pain. I know it might take a little while to know how long your pain relief is from the IV treatment but please keep me informed and thank you for the happy birthday wishes for my self. And Neil nice Christmas Socks 🎅 I live in Pennsylvania in the United States I live on the East Coast and unfortunately parts of some of the neighboring states around pennsylvania are getting snow but where I live Pennsylvania I am in. The 18 Foot range for snow about 18 Inches. ⛄

Hi Amanda, ohhh we've not had snow here just yet but to be honest it is very rare we do now where we live, usually just a sprinkling. I hope it's not to bad where you are, need to be extra careful.
The Steroids are in an infusion over a course of three days at the hospital. I don't have to stay at the hospital, just visit as an out patient for each of the consecutive days. We've filmed a bit on each day, and I'm about to publish Day 2 today (17.12.2020) so hopefully you spot it come though on your notifications.

@@NeilBradleyMS yes I did catch your video early this Moring before I had to go out and take care of getting rid of that nasty snow I guess I get around 7 or 8 yucky inches :( My body is in pain but it had to be done and I pray NO MORE SNOW!!! even though the official day of winter for where I live don't start until December 21st and we all ready got it bad and winter did not start as of yet I got a feeling it's going to be along winter

Can't believe I had not looked this up before......but I just discovered that infusions of methylprednisolone (which you've just had), and solu-medrol (which I was given in hospital back in May) are actually one and the same.
I don't remember what my dosage was, but it was an infusion over an hour, every day for 6 days in a row.
There was no "flush" like you had, after my infusions. There was only a small amount of saline injected into the IV right after the infusion.
Please let me know if you experience any emotional/mood side effects from the steroid, or any other side effects.

Hey there, and thank you for your kind words.
Methylprednisolone and Solu-Medrol is the same drug, it's just called different names depending on where you are in the world I think. Here in the UK we get the infusion for just over an hour for three consecutive days. But, I've also read or seen whereby this is also infusion over a five day period, personally I've never had this. There are some side effects, but as a rule there pretty ok to tolerate, for me anyway.. usually just flushing of the face, heart palpitations (not scary), insomnia that sort of thing. No real mood changes.

Think ill ask for infusion next time instead of the huge amount of the oral version ( not as good, n never helped much with relapse like the infusion does but because of covid19 didn’t want to be in hospital.

Hi Mellie, I asked the hospital which type of steroid was more effective, the tablet form or the actual infusion. They said neither, and that both were as effective as each other. But I disagree, when I had the tablets I felt they did nothing for me at all and I didn't improve even slightly. However, when I've had the steroid via IV I do improve (as a rule) however, the last time when I had them was Dec 2020 and I didn't improve that time, but as I say usually I do.
We are meant to be in mid-summer here in the UK but the weather (as you say) feels much like Autumn (The fall) with cooler temperatures.

Hey Neil, My nurse saw me stagger into the hospital, in London, and said I should use the NHS service to take me to and from my appointment. I called the number and my nurse had emailed a note saying I needed transport. Save you car parking fees and the stress of finding a spot. My hospital is ten minutes walk from Oxford Street from tube. Thats how bad my walking is : (
Hey there Indie, thank you for this .. whilst I can still drive I prefer to use my car, because in a way I feel 'safer'. Whilst the hospital transport is an excellent service, quite often we can be left waiting a very long time which can be a painful thing for me. I don't like having to rely on someone else, but I appreciate a lot of people have to do this. The worst thing about the parking can in fact be the waiting for a spot, but at the moment (because of Covid) no visitors are allowed at the hospital, so we were in fact able to park straight away on all three days. Hope all is well with you.
@@NeilBradleyMS fair enough.for you. But driving in London in the west end is a nightmare and its impossible to find a parking space in the streets. Hospital has no parking at great moorland Street. So i have no choice really. Like everyone fed up in lockdown and working full time. At least the global company I work for within IT played a part in the develop of the vaccine. Good to see your walking has improved. Steroids seem to mess with my mind. I burst into tears at Anything when on them. Last lot was infusion 3 years ago for 5 days.
Hi Indie, ahh London is a totally different ball game when it comes to driving and parking. I see why you would prefer hospital transport, for sure. Yes, I do seem to recall at one point the tablet steroids I have to take every day (prednisolone) had an emotional effect, they made me somewhat irritable, a short fuse as it were. Certainly not like me, it did take a week or two to wear off and stop feeling that way. Take care.

Hope it. gives some relieve and reduce inflammation. I get infusion at least once year If I get real bad always feel my nerves start firing better after infusion.

I wish i could get steroids and feel fine. I started my steroids and they had to stop due to my excruciating stomach pain. Now my stomach is damaged and they need to deal with that first before continuing with my treatments.
Hey Sofia, I’m really sorry to hear this. Are you taking the tablet form of steroids? As a rule I always have a steroid infusion actually at the hospital whereby I have a cannula in the arm, and the steroid on a drip. It then goes straight into my blood stream bypassing the stomach. I know steroids tablets can really irritate the stomach.
@@NeilBradleyMS Hi, they were administering the IV type. I was feeling fine but the next day the stomach pain was unbearable. I did 3 doses but I couldn’t continue. Now I’m at the hospital with a really bad gastritis and active lesions on my brain and spine. I don’t know how they’re going to treat me. My MS flare up caused gastroparesis, that’s what my doctor said and wow... it’s just a lot right now.
