Much appreciated, I got my unit today and my new toy honeymoon was somewhat marred by this squeaky-ass clicking noise. Just knowing that it’s benign and a fairly simple fix is already helping my mind stop focusing on it.
So I put tape on the cable and it’s still making a noise, just not as much. Does that mean I need to put more tape on it? I was worried about putting too much tape on so it wouldn’t fit.
I'm having the exact same issue on my OLED Limited Edition model. I'm afraid to open it though just got it today. Should I fix it? or should I let Valve know?
Hi If you turn it clockwise you won't hear it You can only hear it when you turn it counterclockwise. Is that the same problem you have? Thanks for the good Videos and sry for my english
and exactly the same stick as the one in the video, the right stick for camera control in games clicks for me when i turn counterclockwise but not when i turn clockwise. kinda funny we all have the exact issue to the dot, definitely an oversight in manufacturing haha, glad its an easy fix and nothing to worry about really. just kinda annoying
Mine does plastic squeeking noise and it feels so cheap (tbf I do a lot of pressure on the thumbsticks) but isn't there like aluminum ones like the Guillikit king komg 2 thumbsticks?
God, thank you. Absolute life saver, this shit was driving me crazy and you made the solution insanely easy. Thank you bro

What did u end up doing ?
So you basically made the wire thicker so it doesn't get trapped in-between, that's SMART. Gonna do it on my deck too
mine makes a little scratching sound when moved down

Worked?
Is it really ok to leave it as it is? Mine clicks but a bit quieter
Yes, it's okay to leave it.
Do you know if you do leave it, will it go away on its own I wonder?
Some say that it does but mine hasn't gone away on its own yet. No issues though, I just left it as is for now.@@DragonLord0319
But I don’t wanna take apart my steam deck (I have trauma after ruining my DS lite this way)
@@FileIsStupid I believe in you! You’ve got this!
Will this void my warranty?
You are legally allowed to open your steamdeck there are laws that protect you. But if you break something while your in there you are fucked.
Nice! I'm glad I don't have this problem. I have sticking ABXY buttons. I had to sand down the plastic shell.
This happened to me after two years of using it lol
I have this on the asus
