As a car enthusiast who has to work in surveying/construction I have to have at least a half ton 4x4 that I get paid for using as my truck....I love the share of trucks you give us on the channel. You give us videos on everything, including the old GM's I love...but also other vehicles I'm curious about. Just keep doing what you're doing.

2013/2014 f150 (lariat king ranch platinum) 5.0s are the absolute sweet spot in the truck market for the generation. beautiful, reliable trucks

You could spend four hours Walking around copart showing different vehicles and I would be tickled to death. Especially if you are showing high performance cars. I'm about to pull the trigger and buy one to rebuild. And I like the truck video as well. Keep up the good content.👍
I actually enjoyed just the walking through the lot, even between the cars/trucks… you have always been entertaining to me and it really makes you feel like you’re there doing the walk around yourself. I have an IAA 5 mins from me I’ve been dying to walk around myself for years. I see the cars covered in red plastic and understand why because I’ve learned that from you. Thanks Randy!

I actually don't mind walking around with you. It's almost like I'm there with You. I like going to junkyards and look at all the Vehicles myself. Problem is a lot of people think it won't happen to them. You just gotta be careful man. 1 of my cousins was driving his truck and he was on the heavier side. He flipped in Arizona on loop 101 I believe it was and flew out the front windshield. Died on the spot. Had no seat belt on but no one ever thought he would fly out the window from how big he was. But it happened and from that day on I wore my seat belt. I dont play around driving anymore.

Chevy Silverados are more comfortable than f150 but I don't know I like my ford more I have a 2008 ford f150 5.4 with 400,000 miles bought it when it had 80k miles it has the same motor and trans and I haven't done much maintenance to it besides an oil change here and there and a tune up but you have to do a tune up on any vehicle so it's been very reliable if it gives up now I wouldn't be mad at all but she still runs like a new truck witch is pretty shocking

Good morning Randy. The 1991 Ford F150 Platinum edition is a good truck. The Ford Tempo GL is a good car. The Chevrolet Silverado is a good truck.
Those air bags are just for towing. Randy that’s the best truck it’s classy. I can take and of the 09-14s and put that interior with the sync3 for 3000-4000
That Silverado would be a cool video to see if you could get it running.

That burned up Mercedes at the end is curious as it has a German export plate from Berlin. The red banner on the right indicates the expiration date. If it were yellow, it would be a temp plate. This was not one of the factory delivery models as 1) those got "M" (München/Munich) plates and 2) toss was built in Alabama lol (VIN 4JGBB86EX6A******).
So someone exported it from Germany, but then it's too new to be imported unless it's US spec... Unless it's not, and someone illegally imported it (but why, not like it's a special model like an AMG), then burned it to get insurance to write it off? It's not easy to illegally import a car, customs is all over that, and shipping companies require a lot of documentation to release a car, including customs forms that would immediately flag it as illegal... It's like trying to come into the US illegally, but through a customs checkpoint... Virtually impossible. Yes, people do VIN swaps, which used to be common on the old Minis to get a less than 25 year old one in, but the VIN was an easily removable plate in those, not in a million places like modern cars. Note, you can immediately identify a VIN swapped car if the seller lists two years (like back in the day, they'd be selling a "1981/1989" Mini).
So besides illegal import/insurance fraud, all I can think of was that this was someone who exported their car from the US to Germany (or bought a US-spec one in Germany), then paid the 25% import tax (refundable if the car leaves again in a certain period of time), then registered it with the German government (not cheap and requires a TÜV inspection, which are so strict that 10% of Teslas fail their first required inspection, the TÜV required requires euro spec things, such as E-code headlights, white front parking lights, side turn signals, yellow rear turn signals, a red rear fog light a minimum distance away from the brake lights, if equipped with fig lights, they must turn off when the high beams are on, and a few other things that I can't immediately think of that most US spec cars from around this year didn't have).
Also not any US military, diplomats, or civilians who fall under the SOFA agreement as the USAREUR RMV has a separate (but not equal lol) registration system in Germany. Their export plates are sorta-US sized "USA" plates with the NATO symbol and "SH" for the location code (identical to the old "HK" plates, but they decided to change from a unique code to one that matches an existing German code for some reason... SH are government-plated vehicles for the state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany). Just a note that the US military went away from the USA plates (HK for the small plate and AD for the long plate) in favor of local plates indistinguishable from German plates (D with the Euro stars in the blue banner on the left with a local region code, for example: KL=Kaiserslautern, "BIR"=Birkenfeld [Baumholder], S=Stuttgart, etc.), except for temp plates (USA/NATO banner with red letters and weird region codes: "T K"=Temp Kaiserslautern, "T BH"=Baumholder, "T S"=Stuttgart, etc.) and export plates that are USA/NATO with black letters (they issued the HK plates until they ran out and then began using SH).
All of the scenarios seem unlikely, so maybe they just wanted a German license plate and bought one on eBay not knowing the differences.
That Cat Eye chevy truck is an easy fix... those keys to those trucks are not chipped, i have an 05...Im all for saving that cat eye!

The GMT800 trucks do have chipped keys, but it's just a resistor in the key that the ECM reads via two contacts in the ignition switch lock cylinder. It's Passlock/VATS, and is just like the 90s GM cars that had the resistor on the key shank, but now it's built into the plastic part of the key (you can see the two round contacts peeking out below the plastic key head). When you install a remote start (or trying to bypass VATS), you can either insert the key and read the resistance value across two wires in the ignition harness, then get a resistor of that value and hook it up between the two wires (with some additional work if you're installing a remote start and keeping VATS), or if you don't have the key, you can get a potentiometer and hook it up between the two wires and use the trial and error method to get the correct value. I don't believe GM ECUs will lock you out after too many failed attempts with the wrong resistance values, unlike mid-00s+ Chrysler products that will lock the ECM out. Source: I installed remote start on my 06 Silverado and had key issues with my 05 Durango. EDIT: I originally wrote PATS, which is Ford's chipped key system.
@@davidkane4300 Funny i checked again on my truck keys and im not seeing any chips... also curious i checked my trailblazer keys (07) and didnt see anything and even checked my mothers old impala (04) and nothing...at least i could see
@@truckman374 well, I guess I head the wrong understanding of how the security works. You're right, these keys have no chip, nor a resistor... Security is accomplished with a hall effect sensor in the ignition switch that only works if the ignition cylinder is turned to the run position. So any key (or thing) that can turn the lock cylinder will deactivate the security function.
The Tempo! The one with the V6 was pretty neat. Love those old 80s and 90s cars, keep em coming haha.

That first ford f-150 was typical of what’s out on the road…..I will say this, if manufacturers can’t guarantee you a truly safe trouble free new vehicle then why is it even worth buying one at those over inflated prices 😳😂👍🏿

I tried to locate the 2012 Ford F-150 Platinum truck to see what damage IAA claims it has, but I could not find that truck anywhere on their website? I hope you buy it and use for content then sell it I have a friend with a license I could use to maybe buy it?
When I was a Ford mechanic in the early 90's, we would joke about the names of the vehicles. Tempo was short for Temporary.
That white chevy 1500 to me looks like it could have been a buyherepayhere truck and when the customer paid it off they removed the immobilizer poorly and the wires where left exposed
Stay away from Jeeps with weird alignments. The axles bend easily, and the front one is about $4k used, if you can find one.

my dad had a 92 mercury topaz as a vvork car, just before he traded it in i thing it had just under 535,000k or around there on it.
I bought my mom a 93 tempo back in the day. I put 4 new tires on it and gave to her to help her out. She drove it for years till one night something got the oil pan and she drove it till she would crank anymore 😢
