I just played through the original starcraft campaign. Regardless what Blizzard says they have no idea what is in their own game. I heard this before and was like oh cool. After completing the campaign, this "canon" concept makes no sense. For one, every main protoss character has trust and respects the executor. Artanis is a young impatient lad and get called out on it. Second, Artanis introduction clearly indicates he is new to this.
Once I built 6 arbiters. Hallucinated Them with high template. Flew all of them in on top of the overmind. And recalled in tanks and reavers right next to the overmind. No anti air. Must have been about 40+ tanks and 25 reavers. The overmind changed into a pool if guts and bodily fluids within seconds. It was glorious.
And on the defeat screen (2:47:04) we have probes passing buckets of water to save the burning ship and a destroyed statue of liberty with a zealot cursing the heavens
3:45:12 This mission is EVERYONE who has had a disconnected/quitter in StarCraft 2 Co-op. The struggle of controlling two different large armies against a single massive army is very real in this.
I played Starcraft when I was five or six. Used to watch my dad when I’m supposed to be asleep since he played this game a lot. A thing I used to do was spam the Queen ability on the broodlings and have a ton of them since they don’t die that quickly compared to Starcraft 2
Such good content. The sheer amount of time and work Carbot must have gone to in order to make this mod is staggering. I hope Blizzard paid him VERY well for it. Also... so many perfect moments this playthrough. Lowko is a gem. I think my favourite though (the one that motivated me to comment) was in the final mission when like 10 scourges slammed into the Gantrithor, depleting its 500 shields and about half of its 800 health, and Lowko was like "huh, I thought that carrier was toast." Lol!
my kids love watching the cartoon starcraft version. I had all four of them (ages 3-9) glued to the screen watching Lowko drive Lenny around the screen for almost 2 hours yesterday. Keep up the great content, thanks for generating family friendly content as well.

I remember completing the last mission in the Protoss campaign by building 50 Speedlots, and rushing to the Overmind, straight up killing it while losing only like 20 Zealots or so. Good times xD

Lowko, you're not crazy, a lot of the voice actors for SC we also used for the WC titles, whether they were "hero" units or simply just basic unit voice overs.
I believe there is such a high watchtime for multiple reasons, speaking for myself I watched part of your original playthrough, but, having never played the original series, soon tired of the remastered graphics, this is just so much more pleasurable to watch.
Can’t tell if another comment recommended this, you definitely should go back in the video and pause the victory screen as well as the briefing room screen. If you do it before the stat over lay or before the mission kicks off there are quite a few fun Easter eggs. Love the tower of Sauron spoof for the one eye.
1:21:24 he didn't get a power overwhelming, but he did get what i think is the most disturbing line in all of Starcraft imo. "We make it focus." The fact that there is an "it" that is neither of the two templars and that it is all that they can do to control it is kinda scary imo, they just have to guide this being of uncontrollable energy so it wreaks havoc in the right direction instead of inadvertantly causing mayhem among the protoss' own forces.
After seeing this, I just had to play the Protoss campaign again. I still have the original StarCraft CD-Roms, evne though friends at school had a pirated no-CD copy of the game, which I could play for free, I wanted to have the original game, both for the enhanced audio, and a good game deserves appreciation. Apart from the weird walking paths at times, and the 12 max per control group, it plays really nice still.
I was playing Diablo2 with the video played in background. Not really paying attention. (Watched Lowko's SC:R campaign already, now Lowko was too good to be that amusing.) However 4:14:12 immediate goosebump like conditioned reflex.
On that mission where you massed scouts on the 2 zerg colonies, was surprised no one on your stream chat suggested shield bats, great for hit and retreat tactics.
The difficulty with mission 8 is the early game, because you start with basically nothing. And when you play on the hardest difficulties with the Starcraft Mass Recall mod, it really shows. You stabilize when you finally take the other bases.
For Mission 10, I always took Tassadar, Zeratul, a couple probes, and abandoned the protoss base. Ran up to the top right, then over to the terrans. They were easier to defend, and it was set up like Team Melee, where a probe could return to a CC (obviously built a Nexus just in case). Can't return to a CC with the Mass Recall mod, though; you need the nexus.
This game was like... my childhood! I have almost the entire thing backwards and forwards! It was fun to watch, but painful at times when the player had no idea what things did and didn't do... I guess I just played it too much as a kid...
Funny thing is that going marine + tanks is easily the best build for the last map, especially since you can reach the overmind fairly quickly from the northwest. So when I play the protoss just chill and Eco while the Jim does all the work.
Lowko, shoot the bloody Pylons. Shuts down everything including shields on buildings. Same with Zerg, target creep colonies and their evolutions. Starcraft 1 and 2 pros never do this, and boy does it IRK Me!

Nah. You've got 200 supply for each race. The only way to go is to max out on marines and high templar and hallucinate even more marines.

60 to 72 dragoons (5 or 6 groups) with attack move in the general direction of the Overmind will also win the mission.
