Try to turn the engine anticlockwise. Does it turns? I suspect that one or more conrods are bend. And as commented here. Take of the head. Engine is broken anyhow. If it is one or two conrods. I beleive you can buy the seperatly.
No I tried that. I also popped it in reverse gear and tried rocking the car backwards to see if a bit more force would shift it. I might go down the approach of putting some ATF fluid down the spark plug holes and leave it a few days to see if that helps.
@@PetrolHeadRebuilds I dont think that will help. But well you will not brake it more. I would remove the head in order to see the damage and looking for bent valves, pushrods.
Good shout! I think that is what I am going to do next. Only limitation I have is no garage but I think I can strip it a fair bit with it still in the car then then just remove the block.
Water in air filter, tide mark on radiator - has it been in a flood? I don't think you can hydrolock an engine in the sump - pistons up/down will displace each other and "breath"/vent through the dipstick hole. Love the kids - you could always take up diplomacy as a career. Sell the Corsa to a specialist Vauxhall breaker? As SRUK would say - that engine has been an engine too long. Again I would steer clear of older salvage "boy racer" cars which may well have been abused by inexperienced drivers.
Not necessarily a bad thing for your channel. It’s gonna make good content fixing on replacing engine. Keep on doing what you’re doing. 👍
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😀
Flood damaged 😞, if that was written off on the insurance and sold through copart, wouldnt it normally be sold as flood damaged?
Exactly my thoughts! It was only listed as CAT N front end damage, no mention of water flood.
Ahh. Nightmare. I picked up a Volvo V40 recently with a blown head gasket and dead water pump. Just stripping down to see if it is saveable!
Looking at the comments from the video I think this might be my next step.

Ok cool will give that a go this week and see how I get on. Thanks for the tips!
If you are going to change the motor, why not remove that one and strip it to find whats wrong, might be cheaper to fix that one
