- Residents of Lewiston, Maine, were advised to shelter in place and lock their doors after a mass shooting left at least 18 people killed. The first 911 call came in from a local bowling alley. Cops say the suspected gunman, Robert Card, entered the bowling alley with an assault rifle raised and ready to fire. According to cops, the suspect killed at least seven people inside the bowling alley. Cops say he then drove four miles to a bar where he killed at least eight more people.

This is very very sad... I have been to Maine before, it's very very peaceful there
I cannot believe what our world has come to. I was at that exact bowling alley just two months ago and it sends shivers down my spine to think how that could've been me. I have family still in lockdown in lewiston and I pray for safety for them and everyone in maine. This is so tragic.

There’s no part of this that is less horrific than the other. But, the part that makes my stomach drop is the deaf community out bowling. Depending on the severity of deafness, they never knew what was coming, maybe in some ways that’s a blessing. I hope our state doesn’t quickly move on from this, we need to do so much better.

Maine is one of the most wooded states. He is ex nilitary, and an avid outdoors person, and lived in the area for a long time. As a a mainer i know ins and outs for 20 miles around me, its not hard to make yourself "lost". I think theres a chance hes never found, if he flees for a border he could get away.

My mom says he has family in the area I live in. my superintendent canceled school for tomorrow (10/27) because people were scared, the amount of absent students today (10/26), teacher/ student have family in Lewiston, etc, the part I live in is like 2 hours away from Lewiston but my school is canceled for our safety/mental health.
It’s been nearly 24 hours with hundreds of law enforcement looking & they still haven’t found him. I guess he’s not as crazy as they want to make him out to be. Not a good look for Maine.
