Nice. Is there also a cap to protect the end off the inflatorhose? I have two on my regulator, one for the BCD and one for the dry-suit. In the swimming-pool or with a wetsuit the end of one inflatorhose is unprotected.
There may be a cap for the end or remove the hose and plug so it doesn't flop around. Check out Trident to see if they have something you can use: www.tridentdive.com A
I've been using those DIN plugs for a few years now. My success rate on the pressure release is about 25%, I have to typically wrench them off if they get pressure built up. I keep a beaker bar and a proper socket in my kit (which doubles for use on tires and people who complain too much), as I've had a number of tanks drain on me overnight so every tank has those on it. You get about a turn and a half and then you hear a small hissing sound.
@@toadou8127 They vent just not completely enough to remove by hand. No matter how long I press it. Just easier to break out the wrench I keep in the car.
@@Teampegleg I've had that happen too sometimes but haven't tracked which of the plugs do it so not sure if any are worse than others, have bought about 15 over as many years. Pushing the button can be hard. Close the valve. Holding it in for a few seconds seems to let all the gas out but occasionally can't remove the plug. Releasing and Pressing it in for a few seconds another time or time or two almost always allows mine to be removed by hand. Only about twice have I needed 1" wrench.
Hello Mr Alec,watching a lot of your tips videos, and I have a big question, I haven't found a video about: After you change the batteries and o-rings at your computer, how do you test if everything is OK? I read that it is better to send the dive computer to the manufacturer to test the calibration, and if it has maintained its waterproofness, or if the depth gauge is still correct as a measurement. Please let us know if you have already addressed this topic, because I have not found any video about this topic. Thank you very much.
Changing batteries is never usually a problem but changing o-rings might be. Are you sure you have the correct replacement o-ring? If so, maybe try a test dive in a local pool. Many dive shops organize regular club dives to quarries, pools etc, so testing there is good. Otherwise on your first open water dive, check on entry for bubbles from the computer (air integrated or transmitter type). Ask you buddy to check for any leaks from the transmitter or hose on the 1st stage. Any leak, even champagne bubbles (very tiny) are an issue. A final solution is to ask your local dive shop to depth test the computer in a pressure tester. It's a sealed container that gets pressurized to 130 ft to verify operation and correct depth recording. Hope these tips help and safe diving. A
Thank you so much, very helpful. My Computer is Uwatec Aladin Pro,without O-ring ,And to change the battery is very hard, do you have to disassemble completely the computer. Inside is full of paraffin and to close again the diaphragm you must have to be careful to not leave air inside. Thanks for for your help anyway. Good job! I like the pressure release din plugs but it would be nice if they had a hole on the outside lip and tether like some other din plugs.
To keep better track of them, screw them into your regulator "dust" cover when not in valve.
@toadou8127 that's what I generally do but sometimes a string would be nice.

I have to use a solid object, like tip of wrench, to push button far enough to vent.

Or just use the old case that diving mask came in, put the regulator in and is proteceted. Electric tape would do the job too. :)
Possibly but any airborne contaminates should be kept out of the 1st stage.

The first time you lose trimix due to knob negligence that DIN plug very quickly becomes a need 😂
