I was in th 6th grade and my mom wouldn't let me watch it. My friend Joe swore it was so good, and he kept singing the words "Dr. Goldfoot, Bong, and the bikini machine". I can still hear it in my mind. Finally, 40 years later, I was able to see it on cable, and it brought tears to my eyes.
Eric Hodkinson his voice has somewhat caught the people's attention if it is a horror or scary movie but when he made this film it's a different him that is quite appealing to the public
These were the days back in the 60's that all three generations could participate in. The Drive In theater. Chevrolet even had a infomercial back then introducing the 1966 SS396 Chevelles due out in the fall. Sadly these days (years) will never be repeated.
I remember coming home from school and watching this on the 3:30 novie. There was always some B movie on that was cool beyond belief. Clash Of The Titans. Beach Blanket Bingo. Obscure sci-fi, What have you? This was my fav.
I just saw it on TV, on the most bizarre TV network (called 'This') and it is so bad it's good. The animation and the Supremes singing the title song are just the cherry on top of a cheezeball Sunday.
I have a feeling it wasn't released for a very simple reason: This was before there was such thing as a "crossover sound" this is easily identifiable as R&B or Pop...and in the 60's that would have made it a hard sell. Sounds great though...classic!
Here are the lyrics: (Intro) Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine Dr. Goldfoot, the wildest thing that you've ever seen! That one was the man with the machine Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine Whenever he needed a girl on the scene Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine He pushed a button and just like nothing A girl would appear, I mean my dear The cutest girl in the all-wide world And she behaved just like a slave, Woo! Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine Dr. Goldfoot, the wildest thing that you've ever seen! (music) Ooh! Beware of the man with the machine Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine He is really quite mad, a devil spin Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine He’ll be a lover for Frankenstein’s mother He’s got no heart but he plays his part You better beware, he comes out like a scare He shuffled the role, but he missed the heart soul. Ooh! Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine Dr. Goldfoot, the wildest thing that you've ever seen Dr. Goldfoot, Dr. Goldfoot and his bikini machine (cars crash)
Ok, here's the dope on this song. American International Pictures wanted the Supremes to release the record. After all, if it was a hit, it would bring additional viewers into the theatre. Guy Hemric, songwriter for most of the beach movies, contacted Berry Gordy just before the movie release telling him that it was time to release the record. Berry's reply was "No one tells me when to release a record." And it was not released. Source of story: Guy himself.
In the book "It's Party Time", Guy Hemric mentions he had some demo records that he promoted to radio stations prior to any deal with Motown, and Berry Gordy got upset. Reading between the lines, I suspect Mr. Gordy was jealous that a song Guy wrote and promoted would be so well received.
I know!!! People forget that, besides horror and drama, he was also a freaking AMAZING comedic actor! XD I think with anyone else, this might've become as lame as "The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini" but Vincent Price PWNED IT!!! XD [Sorry, Basil Rathbone]
i liked it. it wasn't as funny as what i thought, but it still was entertaining. i don't think it was sexist. if anything it was making fun of those type of spy films where the villain was sexist
Hmmm. A short film sequence of a car out of control on the steep streets of San Francisco, and it predates the same, much more famous sequence in "Bullitt." "And she'd behave / Just like a slave" - ironic lyrics for a trio of black women to have to sing.
Brilliant Supremes track. Should have been a single!

I bet Diana, Mary & Flo (The Supremes) had a great time recording this ! They done a few film title tracks , this has to be one of the better ones.
The theme to "The Happening" did better than the movie. Give it a listen
cool
Wow! Dig that crazy stunt-driving...LOL!!
Here are the lyrics:

LOL! Nice!
@SandySummers I'm sure Berry must have followed up THAT statement with something like "Don't be ridiculous!"
He plays a pimp who builds robot girls! What's not to love? XD

Good point about the lyrics
