+AMBush Drift I like affordable cars. When I was younger I definitely oooh'd and ahhh'd over the latest and greatest supercars, but I appreciate companies that make affordable fun. The new MX-5 is the best example, you'll smile just as wide as driving a Ferrari for 1/10th the price. Maybe one day I'll do something a bit exotic, but truthfully there are amazing used cars out there for great prices. S2K is a great example.
Congrats! I bought a 2000 S2000 in September of 1999 when it was first released in the US. Put down a deposit with a dealer nine months before that and could barely wait! At the time all the magazines tested it against the BMW Z3 and Porsche Boxster and it won every test hands down. It wasn't until BMW released the Z3 M Roadster and Porsche released the Boxster S were these cars able to compete with the S2000. The only mods I put on it were 17" wheels and tires (it came with 16") and an after market exhaust. Years later I added an intake system, mostly for the sound. I ran a lot of autocrosses and HPDEs with it for several years which it was absolutely excellent at, and I bought track tires for the stock wheels. The transmission was rebuilt under warranty (the "stacking clearance" problem) and again several years later, when the clutch needed to be replaced. Other than that I just did normal maintenance and it was bullet proof. The top did need to be replaced at 10 years and I replaced it with an aftermarket top that had a glass window which was an amazing improvement at night and in the rain! I loved that car and swore I would never sell it. In 2011 my wife and I bought her a BMW 335is Coupe. I really liked that car (especially the torque!) and decided I wanted a BMW. A friend in our BMW club let me drive his Z4 M Roadster for an afternoon and I decided that it was a worthy successor the my S2000. In July 2012 I found the perfect low-mileage 2006 Z4 M Roadster in the exact color/interior combo that I would have ordered knew and bought it. I sold the S2000, now nearly 13 years old, the next month to the parents of a neighbor boy who admired the car when he was 7 ("Wow! That's an S2000! That has the highest output per liter...naturally aspirated...etc." which he recited to me when he was 7!) They gave it to him for his 20th birthday! He still has it! I still have the Z4 M Roadster, but I just did Euro Delivery on an M4 in May. My first non-roadster since 1999!
As a Honda technician, I beg you to leave the stock intake and air box on the vehicle. It's pretty much perfect the way it is and we see so many of these have issues with after market intakes and filters. If you have any other questions I would love to give some legit from the manufacturer answers!
Thanks for chiming in! My next video will go over some of the problems I have, so I'd love to hear your opinion on a few things. Would you recommend OEM TCT, or one of the "lifetime warranty" aftermarket solutions, or simply sanding down the old worm gear in the TCT?
If you don't mind me asking, why do you think the tct should be replaced? They are usually good for the life of the vehicle. Is the chain making a noise right now? But to answer your question I would definitely go oem, The after market ones seem to be slightly weaker and allow just a little more play.

Great year as they made a lot of suspension improvements but its still an AP1!
+John Massey Yeah...it's a huge issue with these things. Since the early 2000s. A lot of other S2Ks around Atlanta got hit the same time mine did. 4 simple bolts and the seats are out. Can obviously put them into any Civic, Integra, or whatever.

+Engineering Explained haha, I loved that, calling Drake out! also, I had had an ap1 but sold it. was gonna get a ap2 but didn't. i still miss the car. I have a personal mod list that I was gonna do; and since s2k is ur project car now too, would you be kind enough to see my mod list to realize my dream to some extent?
Congrats, I really enjoy your videos. I made the same switch to get back into my 2nd S2000. I sold my 2012 WRX Hatchback (Stage 2+) so I could get a cheaper daily driver and an S2000. I'm still very happy with my decision and wish I wouldn't have sold my first one. As others have said, definitely get on the S2Ki forums if you haven't already.
The only clue he wasn't going with a miata was the various mentioning that the Crosstrek would be handling daily driver duties and a new[ish] miata would be ideal for that. I'm still surprised that he didn't go with a new miata (that he could then drive into the ground) and a tough old truck for any practical needs. I'm guessing he takes the "internet judgement" a bit too seriously (and can't drive the weak miata). Of course when it is your income, you have to appease the allmighty internet.
Got the right generation too, AP1 all the way baby!! More raw, more aggressive, and 9,000 RPM all day!!! As Honda originally intended.. AP2 was compromised.
Enjoy it man, I've had mine as a daily driver for over 10 years. Put 150000 miles on her with less than $700 worth of unscheduled repairs. Still even has the original clutch.
Nice colour choice, I have the red one in Australia. Yes ignore the internet hissing and moaning about having a Japanese convertible, it's quite easy after experiencing a few long twisty drives. It's a car who's engineering of everything can be really appreciated. If it doesn't have semi-slick R spec rubber on it yet, try that soon. I've done 15 years of road Kart racing, and my AP1 is the closest thing to the feel of a Kart on slicks I've experienced on the road. I'm keeping mine as close to stock as possible, as they get older and fewer the clean stock ones will go up in value faster. Have fun. Martin
Great choice, I owned a '00 and loved it. You're right that they don't make a lot of torque but they actually have a very flat broad curve. Really from 3000 on it's pretty flat with a little bump when the more aggressive cam profile engages. Enjoy the car!
Dude... you are going to LOVE it! I have a 2001 Prelude SH and love it. My next sports Honda will be an S2000 if I don't get something else. I drove an S2000 once and it put a big smile on my face. Enjoy it!
LOLed hard as well. But TORQUES? TORQUES? LB-FT! LB-FT! LB-FT! (really should be lower case, as LB-FT is almost as meaningless as "torques"). Are you explaining engineering or are you not?
Yes, metric would be "better", but unfortunately things in the USA are sold in imperial and all comparable cars publish their numbers in lbft. From memory Jason seems to use imperial unless there is enough math for a few conversions and then he just computes everything in metric "you guys like math, right?".
Congratulations on your new ride. It's really hard to find one in good shape where I live (Poland) but those that are, are beutiful pieces of engineering. Question - how tall are you? And how do you find the interior of the S2000 comfortable, because I was pretty sure you are somewhere ~6 ft ? I'm 6.2 ft and sadly I don't exactly 'fit' into the S2000 :( There aren't that many affordable rwd cabrios that would fit the tall people...
I'm 6'1'. I'm a little tall for it from a visibility standpoint with the top up, but I fit fine without my legs hitting the steering wheel. I think I actually fit better in this than the new MX-5.
Pontiac Solstice/ Saturn Sky/Opal GT. . Accommodate individuals at 6'2" nicely. .. I'm 6'2" and think I could be up to 6'4" and not have a problem... Very much an under appreciated platform that is very well engineered too👈
Thanks man!I will look for an Opel GT then... The other two are total exotics here, as neither Pontiac nor Saturn was ever sold in the region.... look nice though. Someone also told me that actually the Mazda MX-5 NA (the oldest one) has more head room than the later models. If no, then I guess I will stick to my old Forester with sunroof, a substitute of a cabrio :)
I'm happy for you! Phenomenal drive, when you are on the twisties you will have fun and honestly you will beat them. I ran a IS300 turbocharged through the city and he never got away. I did stay behind him but on his bumper the entire time. Honda did an exceptional job. You will love this machine!!!
Jason I love the humor lately! Shows us car guys can have fun too! (without having obnoxious muffler deletes...) Congrats on both purchases, looking forward to seeing the work you're gonna put into it :)
I could not be more excited that you bought an S2000. I'm saving to buy one, and will no doubt be leaning on your videos to learn more about the car. Congrats!
+Zackarih Hartford I get it. The word "literally" is greatly over used. I was just exaggerating to convey my admiration for these cars. They are very hard to break.
Actually in S2000, it is very easy to money shift it from 3rd back to 2nd at redline! Also rear diff is not very happy about clutch dump launches with grippy rubber. Not to mention that it is really tail happy making it prone to landing in ditches and wrapping around telephone poles...
+Pan tera I wore jeans when I was working as a "real" engineer too! But only when I was a test engineer in the shop. My cubicle days were matched with oversized khakis.
Engineering Explained i always liked your videos, but now you own a REAL sports car (and one that can actually pull off the color yellow) my hat goes off to you sir, may i suggest keeping the internet posted on any possible upgrades?
I'm an engineer and I do not like a honda s2000. Why? limited production vehicle. Parts obsolescence is going to destroy economical sustainment of this vehicle. Second, 9000 rpm redline sounds great, but there are too many failure points with an engine that revs that high, especially given that the newest S2000 is now over 10 years old. Valve floating and fatigue damage are going to be substantially worse on this engine than lower redline engines. Another reason, not engineering related, is that the fan base for this vehicle is the most arrogant. They act like they drive a ferrari, but they have the budget of a mustang driver. No thanks.
zfreak280 so much hate...valve float you say? FINE titanium chuck some titanium valve springs in there, good to go. OKAY it can't do what an indy car can, but neither can YOUR car...but i bet it can get better LAP TIMES THAN YOUR CAR!!!
it's a clean car i love it when Honda owners actually care about their cars, one question i just saw the dyno sheet for a Honda s2000 and the wheels, and it only did 177 hp and that car is advertised at 240, and never mind the car was really well taken car off like the the yellow s2000 on this video, is the math off or did Honda over sold the 2.0 on the s2000? i think if you do the math after drive train looses that 240 becomes 210 or 200 the worse it could get is 190, again love the car I'm a fan of the s2000 but something is off.
+Engineering Explained my understanding from the sheet that i saw, car had under 125k miles and it has not been molested or messed with, but what would be the drive train loss of a 240hp motor? ( i know it depends on how efficient the drive train is but just prentend ) 220? 210?
I dunno. Mine has the same exact mileage almost - and still feels as strong as my other one that had 60,000 miles. If properly taken care of, 105K is just getting warmed up.
idroppedmypocket Obviously a Corvette isn't a fair comparison, I was building off the jokes in the video saying "it's basically a Ferrari" and "it's basically an NSX".
Congrats!! Have loved these from Day One and it appears to be in nice tidy shape. BTW, a few weeks ago we just picked up a 16 Crosstrek for my wife, which supplements the 14 WRX nicely. So far she's lovin' it!! It's such a great vehicle. Good Luck with Honda's finest. Enjoy!
+Engineering Explained I have a 2005 AP2, which I've owned for about 7 years. Awesome car, and I hope I can keep it forever. (We get the 9k rpm motor here even in the AP2). One thing I'd think about is the suspension differences between the AP1 and AP2, which might make a good video actually: if I understand correctly, they increased the stiffness of the front anti-roll bar while softening the rear one. And also changed tyre widths -- front to 215 and rear to 245. Think tyre load sensitivity: The AP1 had a bit of reputation for being quite twitchy with oversteer, possibly thanks to VTEC and the Torsen. The changes to the AP2 would help reduce this, but it's still a car that demands a bit of respect. So this might be interesting, and also take care when thrashing it :)
excellent. Don't forget to weld the front upper A-arm mounts, retorque the rear axle nuts to the s2ki spec, spec valve adjustment (IN .008, EX .010), and retainer check. do all maintenance and you'll enjoy much love. I have an '03 and learned some new things about the s2000, so thank you for that. darcy
How so? Its hard to get significant power out of that little engine. The 2004 z06 broke 8minuts at the ring...hard to really compare "better" but it can sure be YOUR preference. Have you owned or driven both?
congrats on your new purchase, i have a '03 and i love it. looking forward to you explaining the amazing engineering that when't into this car in your upcoming videos.
after owning an s2000 for over a year im positive you will love it. and you made a good decision too to get an ap1. cant wait to see what you do with it👍 and glad to see another s2000 in the youtube community
Sparatan117 So S2000 is closer to race spec... that's ok? If you had a JDM STi Spec C or S207 model instead of a USDM spec model, you would feel every bump in the road too (and you could rev to 8000rpm with your EJ20, more like a Honda also ;) ) ... So no difference? :)
TassieLorenzo The S2000 is a NA 237 HP 2.2L 4 Inline 162 ft lbs of torque. 2,813 lbs This is vs the STi 305 HP with Turbo, 2.5L H 4 Cyl and 290 ft lbs of torque. 3,386 lbs So basically you've got a non-race spec'd car who's horsepower is significantly less than the STI, has a Rev range that has to be far higher in order to achieve torque, weighs almost nothing so it's terrible for anything but being on the track and isn't turbocharged. Furthermore, the suspension is so tight and stiff that it's not comfortable to ride almost anywhere with it, and the seats are pretty uncomfortable too, so enjoy trying to find a good seating position. The foot wells are just big enough for your feet... if you have a backpack... good luck. There's not enough space in the trunk to put much more than a tool bag and some small groceries. It's just a very impractical car that is under powered and is very much a niche item. If he likes it, by all means, but would I recommend it to anyone else? Hell no.
congrats on the new ride! i drove a friends S2K and loved the transmission. its a great little car and an affordable one in good condition is hard to find these days
I'm totally taking credit for this. You just can't beat an s2000 and an SUV when you're on a budget. Congrats on the purchase! Can't wait for the mods to begin. (Road and Track just posted a blurb about you)
Congratulations on buying a amazing car, it looks simple but yet it has bunch of very smart solutions, thats why I love older Hondas. I really love the color is it original? S2000 also look awesome in blue. I am dreaming about this car for around 8 years but sadly by working full time at my country I still can not afford it, and probably won't ever have such car. Congratulations once more! And I will wait for more videos on your amazing S2000!
Great car. I remember having one for a day back in 2001 (also Spa Yellow) as a long test drive, and I still remember that afternoon. It was full of over steer and grins. Nice work, and I look forward to your driving videos.
I bought one back in 2012 at 13k for an 05 with a hardtop 60k miles, if you look for one now a days a 2001 with 80-100k miles will run closer to 18k. CR's are currently selling at MSRP from 2008. These cars have gone up in astronomical value.
Nice purchase! We have a 2003 model which we bought new in 03. I would HIGHLY recommend looking into a Comptech Supercharger and aftercooler as well as their exhaust. All of their products met there power add claims spot on and the fitment and quallity are A++. Also, Stoptech brakes - I garentee you will not be disappointed. We did some other performance adds like braced the motor. The car is truly amazing!
Low torque is compensated for by a high rev-line and higher horsepower. Weak ass clutch? Lol don't make me laugh. This car has the best clutch I've ever had the pleasure of using and they can take a lot of abuse. Mine is 14 years old with over 100k on the clock and I just replaced the original clutch so excuse for me saying you're talking out of your ass.
a clutch lasting long at 170lb ft in a light car isn't a huge deal. Not hating on the car but that clutch would slip bad in a high torque car. It is weak but it doesn't need to be strong so it's okay. I doubt one with the same holding capacity would last one wot pull in my car or most muscle cars..
Mr4512hkj It can handle a lot of punishment believe me but I get what you're saying. Any car pushing past its factory specs needs a good aftermarket clutch in order to handle the additional power and torque for which the OEM clutch wasn't designed for. However that doesn't make it "weak" by any means. Still the best clutch I've ever used in any car. In manipulates every shred of torque there is.
That s2000 dance!!!! Would love to see more vids and knowledge on the s2000. Thanks for your channel... everything u dropping on your channel is solid info.
About 17 years later, that gauge is still one of a kind and just awesome. Honda was ahead of it's time with the S2k 👍🏼
I dunno, the gauge package is 1980's style. :) Such gauges were all the rages in the 80s (Audi Ur-Quattro for example).
Mark II supra had them in the early 90s.
but i think only one package of the mk2 supra got it (Performance package or Luxury Package)
also in the early 90s there was the mk3 supra not mk2
yeah toyota and nissan also had them in the mid 80s
Japanese were way ahead than Euros

The Viper is nothing compared to the S2000. Especially from an engineering standpoint. You've truly purchased one of the greatest cars of all time.
***** if the Viper was as efficient as the S2000, I'd have over 1000hp from the factory.
ur joking right?
+Logλn L (ホンダ) except as is clear with the Hellcats, when it comes to Americans there is such a thing as too much power
one of the greatest of all time? I'm not sure about that? Top what 50? 100?
charjohnnie sic personally I just roll my eyes.
Mario is seriously hard to defeat folks: gfycat.com/ArtisticSilverDavidstiger
lmao
+Engineering Explained haha, I loved that, calling Drake out!
also, I had had an ap1 but sold it. was gonna get a ap2 but didn't. i still miss the car. I have a personal mod list that I was gonna do; and since s2k is ur project car now too, would you be kind enough to see my mod list to realize my dream to some extent?
xD
the s5 FC rx7 produced 123hp/L in NA form starting in 1989... nice try honda
How much did you pay for it?
Congrats, I really enjoy your videos. I made the same switch to get back into my 2nd S2000. I sold my 2012 WRX Hatchback (Stage 2+) so I could get a cheaper daily driver and an S2000. I'm still very happy with my decision and wish I wouldn't have sold my first one. As others have said, definitely get on the S2Ki forums if you haven't already.
2:53 When you finish peeing
Wtf how did this not even get 200 likes in 3 years?!
Who else didn't see that coming? No liars.
Yeah it was fairly obvious, said it on his other vid
I figured he was gonna by a MX-5 haha
therealsnow I was thinking miata or s2k but since everyone has miatas I went with the honda. Guessed his subaru right too :P
Was half right on first car (got the Subaru part right) & figured this one came down to the S2K or MX5
Welcome to the club! I have a 2004 AP2 and I love it every time I drive it. Hope it gives you many trouble free miles of smiles!
Have fun. Martin
What I noticed about the people hating on the s2000 is that they have never driven it. But everyone who has or had it loves it.
I have never driven S2k. But still i just lllllllooooovvvveeee it.🙂 bcos its honda engineering.
I love s2k when it first came out. The style and the hp. 240 hp at only 2.0 with no turbo. What? How right? Another version is 2.2 li. More torque.
Nice. My brother has one of these and they're really awesome. I'm planning on getting one to after I pay off my WRX.
Ayy a fellow coog
lets race im from the H too
lets race im from the H too
Great choice, I owned a '00 and loved it. You're right that they don't make a lot of torque but they actually have a very flat broad curve. Really from 3000 on it's pretty flat with a little bump when the more aggressive cam profile engages. Enjoy the car!
I Cant understand why Honda dont make a new S2000. It was a Great Car with mani futuristic technology and a timeless disign. Sry for my bad english.
They are going to... :)
it's cost would be thousands over the competition
It doesn't sell very well.
Dani over S2000 didn't come with an automatic option, this was unwise for sales! :)
TassieLorenzo wouldn't that drive the costs higher? M/T models are usually cheaper, no?
s2k is the only honda I'd buy.
and nsx
I've been saying the exact same thing for years!!
I finally bought mine last Wednesday and I love it
Same, other than the s2k, I'll stick with Nissan
crosstour?
Nsx is better 😂
Dude... you are going to LOVE it! I have a 2001 Prelude SH and love it. My next sports Honda will be an S2000 if I don't get something else. I drove an S2000 once and it put a big smile on my face. Enjoy it!
I love the "no torque" comment. Thanks for keeping it real. It's one thing to like a car, but it's another to accept it's limitations too.
Subarus, Hondas, and slick dance moves, you're basically Marty and Moog in one package.
I had a 2005 AP2 and now a 2001 AP1 and I can tell you will love it!!!
i lold hard at the zero torque thing!
Same here. haha
same same, since he is usually such a techie guy, totally did not expect that.
LOLed hard as well. But TORQUES? TORQUES? LB-FT! LB-FT! LB-FT! (really should be lower case, as LB-FT is almost as meaningless as "torques"). Are you explaining engineering or are you not?
+Cave of the Wumpus Nm all the way 3d and time
Yes, metric would be "better", but unfortunately things in the USA are sold in imperial and all comparable cars publish their numbers in lbft. From memory Jason seems to use imperial unless there is enough math for a few conversions and then he just computes everything in metric "you guys like math, right?".
Nice Miata Fam.
Dont ban fam its just a joke.
Miatas are awesome.
Dad?
Not kidding! I bought a 2002 ap1 s2000 Suzuka blue because of u!
Thank you
Congrats on the new (to you) ride!!
How much did that set you back?
If you don't mind me asking..
fun fact. the s2k has one of the best headlights of all time. the s2k low beam projector is considered to be the king in the retrofitting community
Jason I love the humor lately! Shows us car guys can have fun too! (without having obnoxious muffler deletes...) Congrats on both purchases, looking forward to seeing the work you're gonna put into it :)
One of the few Hondas I would LOVE to get
0 torques.... i fucming died at that
rip
I could not be more excited that you bought an S2000. I'm saving to buy one, and will no doubt be leaning on your videos to learn more about the car. Congrats!
I'm here in my garage with my new s2000, but you know what I like more than materialistic things? knowledge
Next Video, I broke my Honda S2000
Literally impossible.
Correct. You can break your engine easily in many ways, not changing your oil for example.
Not to mention that it is really tail happy making it prone to landing in ditches and wrapping around telephone poles...
after that, Why I'm selling my Honda S2000
Someone is clearly very excited about their purchase. Congrats! I look forward to watching the journey.
you show me an engineer who does NOT like the honda s2000, and i'll show you a guy in a stolen lab coat...er...
stolen levis in this case.
Why do engineers like it so bad?
"About 0 torque until 7500 rpm." Haha, so true! That's what I remember from my S2000 drives.
Congrats on the S2K . This car was one of my first loves back in high school when I really started getting into cars .
Nice purchase! Get Chris Fix over to help you get that paint gleaming again! :-)
or watch 10 hours of junkman2000 videos
it's a clean car i love it when Honda owners actually care about their cars, one question i just saw the dyno sheet for a Honda s2000 and the wheels, and it only did 177 hp and that car is advertised at 240, and never mind the car was really well taken car off like the the yellow s2000 on this video, is the math off or did Honda over sold the 2.0 on the s2000? i think if you do the math after drive train looses that 240 becomes 210 or 200 the worse it could get is 190, again love the car I'm a fan of the s2000 but something is off.
I don't know. I hope to dyno mine after a few repairs.
+Chris Ramos They list BHP. The dynamometer reads WHP. You lose about 30% of your power when you put it to the wheels and it also has 100+k miles
+Aidan Francis i understand that completely, the car probably makes about 210 at the wheels brand new, but loosing 40hp kinda sucks :(
I'm excited for you dude. Always wanted one of these.
9,000 rpm does sound pretty rad... How do i get that on my wrx
Cams and a tune. But on a wrx, you might have to do rods and bearings to handle that high of an RPM. Not positive though
shift from 6th to first on the highway and you will hit max revs
Waffletime
agreed! but doesn't a wrx have a 5 speed?
very reliable too
you'll blow the intake welds and fry the piston rings
*when the vtec kicks in* 4:07
congrats, may it serve you many miles and bring you many smiles.
Congrats again man! You're gonna have a blast with it! P.S. Loved the dance haha.
Cheers Matt!
+Engineering Explained can you show us the rev limiter
+Robert T sound
So, wouldn't this be kinda sorta mid-engine car since the engine is behind the front axle?
Yep.
Front mid-engine, to be specific.
Yep, it's basically a Corvette.
It's closest competitor is the Miata. That might be a better reference.
idroppedmypocket Obviously a Corvette isn't a fair comparison, I was building off the jokes in the video saying "it's basically a Ferrari" and "it's basically an NSX".
Enjoy!
You look so happy on the thumbnail lol!
I'm pretty pumped!
Engineering Explained Don't blame ya it looks absolutely beautiful haha
"The yellow ferrari F1 NSX S2000"
So many fasts. So little torques.
but it's still ferrari yellow ;)
+Engineering Explained
I have a 2005 AP2, which I've owned for about 7 years.
So this might be interesting, and also take care when thrashing it :)
came for the honda, subbed for the dance and last clip
Thanks for subscribing!
Nice Miata brah... My little sister just got one as well ;)
Savage
Same thing my co-worker tells me..
much to learn
If you've never driven one... you wouldn't understand the why...
+bryphi77 and your troll side is showing. Much to learn about cars. Tool.
excellent. Don't forget to weld the front upper A-arm mounts, retorque the rear axle nuts to the s2ki spec, spec valve adjustment (IN .008, EX .010), and retainer check. do all maintenance and you'll enjoy much love. I have an '03 and learned some new things about the s2000, so thank you for that. darcy
it's YELLOW!!! That's worth a torque surely
1 torques.
Vtec yo
the best car under $18k! I love it
+David Ha what can you get for $18k? 🤔
I got a 01 corvette z06 for 15k...over 100 more hp. That said, Ive always wanted to try out a s2k.
+RyanInSD 100 more hp and yet the s2k is still 100 times better
How so? Its hard to get significant power out of that little engine. The 2004 z06 broke 8minuts at the ring...hard to really compare "better" but it can sure be YOUR preference.
Have you owned or driven both?
350z..
congrats on your new purchase, i have a '03 and i love it. looking forward to you explaining the amazing engineering that when't into this car in your upcoming videos.
It looks like a banana. ;)
+EricTheCarGuy everyone loves bananas!
First thing I would do is take it apart and paint it black. Install ground effects and better rims and tires.
you should change your channel name to Hairdressing Explained
after owning an s2000 for over a year im positive you will love it. and you made a good decision too to get an ap1. cant wait to see what you do with it👍 and glad to see another s2000 in the youtube community
ahahaha! love the drake dance! love the videos man--can't stop watching them 😀😂
Thanks!
@ 4:30
All you need now is a Nissan GTR to add to the car fanboyism!
Preferably a cool old R32, or even better a Hakosuka (they are tasty!). :)
+TassieLorenzo Nah, for ultimate fanboy we need a Bayside Blue R34.
Caught a glimpse of your S2000 during the 26 morning commute. Excited to see the progression of your vehicle!
I've been debating on getting a s2000 or a z4!
Z4 is much better looking but probably a little slower.
I've driven both, on and off track, and I have to say the S is a more enjoyable drive all around.
I'm a die-hard BMW fanboy buy imo s2k is a more special car
I own a BMW z4 and it is a really great car, its an easy car to work on for a BMW and theres a lot of options for reducing weight and it rides great
Louie Watson we're not talking about some track toys here, this is the Honda S2000, a very special car, a triumph of engineering in fact.
Honda used to make such great sporty/sports cars.... wtf happened
i just got my s2000 about 3 weeks ago! Love it so far!
Jesse, don't do it! I bet you he's got more than a hundred grand under the hood of that car..
+Mihai Gazdaru fool's runnin and ess too-thooouuuusand.
+Engineering Explained Damn, it was too soon
Sold an STI and got a S2000...
Wow...
Least you're happy
Yep, less is more! :) You gotta learn that by driving it. ;)
I've ridden and drove an/in S2000 ... my ass remembers every... single... bump... in the road. I'll stick with my 2015 STI all day, any day.
TassieLorenzo
The S2000 is a NA 237 HP
2.2L 4 Inline
162 ft lbs of torque.
2,813 lbs
This is vs the STi
305 HP with Turbo,
2.5L H 4 Cyl and
290 ft lbs of torque.
3,386 lbs
So basically you've got a non-race spec'd car who's horsepower is significantly less than the STI, has a Rev range that has to be far higher in order to achieve torque, weighs almost nothing so it's terrible for anything but being on the track and isn't turbocharged.
Hell no.
congrats on the new ride! i drove a friends S2K and loved the transmission. its a great little car and an affordable one in good condition is hard to find these days
check Moogs s2000 videos at might mods
**mighty mods
maaaaad.
Chopped ✌
Unicorntastic.. ;) :)
Michael Cohen i think that was the whole point of the build. making an experience for himself.
next time buy a brand new Ferrari, you won't regret it
I think I would. So much money lost on day one!
I'm totally taking credit for this. You just can't beat an s2000 and an SUV when you're on a budget. Congrats on the purchase! Can't wait for the mods to begin. (Road and Track just posted a blurb about you)
Marble of engineering
You mean marvel?
+CaliPatriot88 Yes thanks. typing to quick.
i think he was just rounding down...like in math.
only with english. i think.
You sold your sti for this ?????? Wow
He also bought another Subaru.
He got another Subaru
STI to this... serious ugh.
This is better than the STi lol
Let's see - Honda S2000 is fun in: Nice Weather. STI is fun in: Nice Weather, Rain, Snow, Sleet, etc...
I want a s2000 but they're all 15 k they don't lose much value but it's still a 10 years old car
Yep, they do hold their value pretty well. The upside is if you do decide to sell it down the line, you won't lose much money. :)
the reason they're expensive is because everyone wants one now.
the answer is always miata.....
Great car. I remember having one for a day back in 2001 (also Spa Yellow) as a long test drive, and I still remember that afternoon. It was full of over steer and grins. Nice work, and I look forward to your driving videos.
so you sell ur sti because its impractical and buy a car thats even more impractical
He's also buying a cuv
he has bought a practical car too
S2K, so practical, much storage.
With the top down it's basically a cargo ship.
+Coxy002605 exactly
Ls swap
No. F20C is the way to go.
Do that to a Miata instead. Cheaper car to get a hold of and lighter. Don't wreck an S2000.
***** It's not a collectible car yet but it will be, especially the stock ones.

You're an amazing captain.
Thank you so much. You've just made my day and my brother's too.
Sweet!! Congratulation on the new purchase. It has an absolutely beautiful engine!!
Couldn't afford an Accent I see
Still working up to it, baby steps.
No torque and a weak ass clutch.
Yeah, they didn't design the car to be a muscle car.
It doesnt need much torque. Its not heavy. an s2000 is almost as fast as a 350z wich has more torque and hp. But its heavier.
So glad you got this S2k. Such a great car. Your stable of S2000 and Crosstrek provides a nice balance. Keep up the great videos.
