Hello, SPi. I remember playing your custom campaign around two years ago and wrote you a comment about expecting a resume of the Rooftops campaign after the events in Sicily. I'm looking forward to playing it again soon. I've also liked how you added remastered animations in The Deal Campaign. Love how you're doing everything to give your community a campaign that deserves even to be like an original story. Good luck to you, and may you publish more masterpieces like this one.

In call of duty 4 (and other og titles) you can change the command "seta r_lodbias and seta r_lodbiasskinned" and setting them both to -1000 appears to be the best simple way to expand LOD render distance (grass distance, model pop-in, etc). Anything beyond that number does nothing and obviously going positive forward reduces render distance.
I'm curious if there is something else I could do to extend this? I hate seeing grass load in the distance or models changing LOD even

Yeah I understand. COD4 is a pretty old game, extending the model detail will cause model flickering (often happens in Rooftops 2 in the 2nd to last level where tons of enemies and allies are in the underground area) so there's a reason why the game has that thing, even if it looks bad from distance, it's not really designed to handle that much model detail from distance. It's more noticeable on resolutions larger than 720p because the game was made with 720p in mind so the detail changing wasn't as noticeable in 720p but on 1080p and larger its much easier to notice. You can definitely use the lodbias thing but it's more likely to cause this flickering bug and we can't just extend the game limits that easily.

Spi your voice has also changed from rooftops 1 to the deal mod i mean in all of your mods except the deal and rooftops 2 you sounded very young like a 20 year old or 19 or 18 year old boy and obviously it will change as you are getting older so what do you think about it

Rooftops 2 ended the story in a solid and complete way. There is no point of making a sequel. Plus I don't want to make another large campaign project like rooftops 2 of larger. These things take a lot to make.

Only STG44 will be from the remaster because its straight from Rooftops 2, adding all remastered guns will be too much hassle and will weighten the graphics too much and likely cause bugs due to limits. I prefer to keep the gun atmosphere same as Rooftops 2, by keeping the same mw2 and mw3 guns as Rooftops 2 had with a few additions. Thus keeping consistency across the two consequent mods.

Man SPI, Activision or any other studios should be hiring you to make the games and you remastering your Rooftops Game is great but can you upgrade the graphics?
Thanks, but to answer the graphics question we have to understand what are graphics and how are the changed. Graphics in the game on a surface level are mainly about texture quality and polygon count on models along with various lighting stuff. I can't change the engine so I have no control on how the game renders graphics. I can edit textures but my job is to fix the old mod not remaster the core game. The graphics will be improved in a superficial way, because there are a few character models and textures from later games.
Question: Is it possible to make a mod on the remastered version?
MWR has no mod tools
I don't think so, considering MWR is on a newer and modern engine that's practically impossible to mod on compared to the original COD4 game that's on a modified Quake engine.
The best you can do is probably model changes. The script itself is gonna be much harder to do.
Imo the darker rooms in classic were better, i know this isn't finished but idk why no one noticed it
The darker rooms in classic were me being unaware of how to properly setup indoors lighting and dynamic lights, now shadows are going to look much better

@@asylzhanbakytzhan1118 12 years ago, i saw cod4 custom missions that other people made, i got interested in how they are made, and i found forums and tutorials that explained basic steps, I slowly experimented, and through the years i kept doing more stuff and learning more stuff, both my exploring the mod tools and how the game works, and by asking people who knew as well as studying tutorials I found in old forums and looking at other people's work to see how they did stuff that I can't do. Practice makes perfect.

The story ends in Rooftops 2, there's no reason to do Rooftops 3.

There is no point to make a rooftops3. The story ends with romanov dying. Also I can't make another campaign like rooftops 2. It's too much work for one guy.

@@Hamentsios10if you do plan on adding it, it should be like a hidden easter egg option or a cheat that only unlocks after completing a certain task.
@@mercenarydelta7351Yeah itsnt going to work well because the script is re-written and the new dialogues work in a way that they define timing for sequences. If I change the voices the timing will be messed up.

I thought it was a conversion to the MWR (2016) engine and not COD4, and I'm not a fan of the MW2 Uzi, I prefer the COD4 one.
They're the same though, MW2 uzi just has a better texture and sound. And it's there because the guns are from Rooftops 2 which are a mix of mw2 and mw3 guns so there's that.
@@Hamentsios10 I have a preference for COD4 weapon models, such as the AK-47 or the M16 with grenade launcher, but hey, that's my opinion.
@@Alexkander66 I understand, but I'm afraid I have extremely opposite opinions about that. I find cod4 weapon models to be of very low quality.
@@Hamentsios10 Why not use the models from MWR (2016) and transfer them to COD4? That way you would have better weapon models. Too bad you don't use the single-player exclusive weapons, such as the M4A1 Grenadier.

Thats not the purpose of the mod though. Dont forget this is a COD4 mod. I use COD assets. I dont make the assets myself. I am not paid to do what I do. Its a fan mod. I collect assets from various COD games and I create my own stories. There are certain ways I want things and certain ways I can and cant do things. Besides, this is a remaster. It's going to be a remake of an old mod. So changing stuff the wrong way, will lead to things not looking true to the original. @@marvinedurk7205

I dont have to do anything. This is a free fan project. I am not paid for this. I make this out of my free time for a hobby. Realism isnt something these mods are about. Its about arcade-y fun gunfights. I am not making the game from 0. I do not own the engine and I can't change the engine. I reworked the whole old mod of Rooftops 1 to bring new improvements and better presentation to it with my latest skills. This isn't a studio project. Its a one man free project.@@mohmadjaouaf2896
