For those wondering, the reason I chose to use the zombie loot mod was because this challenge would be extremely boring otherwise. In vanilla, pretty much the only thing you can do is forage and hope you find enough food, and the only thing you can build is a single campfire. The zombie loot mod in my opinion changes the game just enough to still be challenging, but actually doable and entertaining
Note that blueberries are always safe-to-eat, even if your character classifies them as "wild berries", they can be told apart from regular berries because of their fixed icon and colour. There's also 1 or 2 always poisonous ones but I forgot which one those were.
The berry that is always poisonous doesn't spawn until fall. The default ones you'll find at 0 foraging in summer are completely random if they're poisonous or not.
@@DBZHGWgamer With 0 foraging, I guess. I found blueberries with my park ranger so I wouldn't be surprised if it's exclusive to intermediate foraging levels.

Also, every berry you forage will have a random colour except for the mentioned blueberries and other poisonous berries. So, two identical looking berries might have one be poisonous and have one be safe-to-eat.
Since i didn't see anyone mention it: You can drink straight from tainted water outdoors and it won't immediately make you sick. You can only do this once every few hours so best to do it once and not risk pushing it. This does not apply if you put it in a bottle, which shows it as tainted and can kill you even with one sip. Retanaru has a good vid on this.
Really great quality videos. I've watched this one twice, actually! Out of curiosity, I'd love to see a Part 2 of this video that shows how many days/weeks/months you'd *actually* be able to last before your game crashes from too many zombies. :)
You could setup a campfire away from your base to lure zombies too and let them walk over it and catch fire Edit : this will burn the bodies too to get rid of them and not leave your character sick
I like it when they do a conga line and run after you. It's like COD zombies. The campfire you set up could also be used for killing and disposing. Maybe, you could even build your own town. I like how you separated yourself.
I whould pick hicker and herbalist as perks since they also increse foraging and make it so you can identify poison berries and mushrooms etc. also trapping is nice
Regarding zombies in the fog, You can still kind of see them through the fog if you zoom out and move the camera around to look! I do that quite often.

Hollyberry is always poisonous, and can be told apart by spiky leaves and red beries. Surprisingly, Poison ivy berry isn't always poisonous
