My phone 11 Pro downloaded the new 13.4.1 software 2 weeks ago which caused the WiFi to show up grayed out and my Bluetooth wouldn't connect to anything. I had restarted it multiple times and no luck. I was starting to worry as my phone hadn't been backed up, I found this video and did the "Reset Network Settings" and both are working again. Thanks!
Resetting my iPhone and network setting didn’t work but hard resetting my phone by holding down the power and home button at the same time for 10 seconds worked. Also disabling performance management in the battery settings seems to have improved the issue as well.
Could it be a software update, because my wifi is grayed out but I also need a software update, but it say it could charge my carrier for doing it on cellular data
This normally happens on the logic board and an ic needs to be repaired. Sometimes it’s the wifi bracket part which you can change but most of the time it is wear and tear and wifi goes out. Planned obsolescence
Took it to Apple, they said I would have to get a full Wi-Fi antenna replaced. I took it back home, did a hard reset (held power button + volume button) and it rebooted my phone. For anyone who is trying to get a full replacement, please try to hard reset it at least once to make sure it is just a software issue and not a hardware issue as software issues can easily be resolved without requiring any special skills.
@@danielle-k1y Not at all! A “hard reset” refers to just “restarting/rebooting” the phone! Essentially, it just turns the phone off and turns it back on. It isn’t a “data” reset. Hope that helped.
dont worry my man you have a IC problem, iPhone 7+ & 8+ have this very common, sometimes you can have problem with bluetooth too because is almost the same chip, if you can send back to apple or to repair it, i fix this problems about 30-55Euro on my country.

for people that probably got the wifi chip problem, I solved this issue today, maybe temporarily but, My iphone 7 plus had the wifi grey out problem, upon reading online, one of the suggestion i saw was put your phone under a lamp for 30 minutes, now from what i understand, it wants me to make the phone hot, so what i did instead was remove the logic board, took out my heat gun, and just blasted the wifi chip for 5 minutes, thing was 100+ degrees celsius, and then i use something to kinda press it down on to the chip a bit, not sure if it does anything but whatever, after that i put the phone back together, and to my surprise, the wifi is now back on. definitely try this if you can.

If all software hints don't work might be that the WiFi chip needs a reflux then the heat it with hair drier(better if u have a heat gun) for 3-4 mins and let it cool off works...have done it multiple times over the years &it usually works.

I have the same issue, contacted apple & was told my phone failed the diagnostics for wifi & Bluetooth sensors so they suggested I take it in for repair. Bad thing is, stores are closed. They are very limited on appointments. Made an appointment with Best Buy since it’s approved, well they sent an email saying they can’t do same day repair so I will have to leave my phone for days🤦🏻♀️ My home does not get good reception, I rely heavily on wifi .

When the volume is all the way up, and I’m listening to something, the tone/treble is so high, it sound like screeching and hurts my ears, so I have to turn the volume down to where I can barely hear it. It needs a more “lower bass” sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I did not try DFU mode but I did try the other two options which did not work. Every website only gives those two options. I decided to quickly turn airplane mode on then off and immediately turned off the phone. When I restarted the phone the wifi was working and no longer greyed out.

its a GI problem, go to the apple store to get it replaced or you need to get a new phone. this problem probably happened because you dropped your phone to hard, or let it sit out in hot temperatures.

This is the easiest way to fix it. Get a small thin toothpick or a toothpick floss. Gently clean the hole where you connect the charging cable to. Then constantly check to see if you can enable the WIFI.
I did exactly that but still not working on my 8 plus I updated my software to iOS 16.2 and afterwards my Wi-Fi,my Bluetooth and hotspot isn’t opening :(

Here’s something that works for me: Put your phone on Airplane mode and then turn your phone off with the airplane mode on. Wait 3-5 minutes before turning your phone back on. It worked for me for the 2 times that this has happen.

Thanks a lot! Soft reset didn’t work. Reset network settings didn’t work. But doing a hard reset fixed it.

I called apple about this, was on the phone for over an hour, then it was fixed... for a total of 15 minutes and then it went back to being broken
