I like your tampers excellent work. I made my first one like yours other then, I leave the threads on and made a scraper to screw on and off. This is my first so I have to adjust the length on the scraper.
great work Adirondack Woodsman , as always. man, you're a hell of a craftsman. you'll have to let us know when they're available for purchase, I'm not a smoker, but my father enjoys a good pipe. He'd love one! thanks for sharing!
AND I JUST QUIT TOBACCO!!!!!!!! I guess I cant be too upset. I never learned how to properly fill a pipe so that it would smolder on its own lol. Btw. I love seeing your tats show up every now and again. It reminds me of the earlier days when you had Swedish Metal as your intro music. Not that I dont like the music you use these days, cuz I do lol. Well enough with the rambles. Beautiful work as always.
Are you selling any of these, I love watching your videos and can't buy anything half as nice here in Finland. It would be so cool to buy one and use to while in the woods here.
Very beautiful work. True craftsmanship. Was the final polish on the buffing wheel done with beeswax? I couldn't tell but it looked like a beeswax cake you applied to the wheel.
While I appreciate the craftsmanship and I love the look and feel of leather and wood I am at a loss to understand why you would want such a thing? This speaks to the whole of bushcraft in general the mantra "the more you know the less you carry " seems to have evolved into "the more bespoke expensive items I can lug int the woods the more credibility I have on the forums"
mark a No offense Mark, but I have no idea what connections you are making. I do lots of woodsman stuff, I also like to make things. They do not always have to be directly linked. The forums comment sounds nasty, and certainly over generalized. Who said anything about needing a tamper in your kit? Sounds like your bitter about something. I don't mean to start an argument or anything, but you are very negative.
I've watched this video about a dozen times for inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to show us your craft.
THAT PIPE IS BEAUTIFUL
Just took up pipe smoking. I love it. I've been meaning to make myself a nice tamper, like these. Beautiful work, as usual.
Absolutely beautiful. Made my first stacked leather and briar the other day. A lot of fun.
Awesome video Leif. I love my tamper you gave me. It was fun to watch you make it.
Definitely interested in making my own. Thanks for the video!
Awesome work as always.
You are a thousand years ahead of me & I continue to be inspired.
Thanks for the post.

Awesome work man!
Absolutely beautiful work. I feel like I'm doing my pipes a grave injustice by using an old nail. Do you sell these?
I sell my wares on BushcraftUSA.com/ My vendor section on there is Adirondack Oddities.

Where I find or buy that long screw?
We call it a carriage bolt. I had to mill the head a bit for flush fitting.
@@SkogKniv Thanks a lot!
NICE!!!!!
What’s the metal ? Is it a nail ?
A carriage bolt that I milled to fit my purposes.
Adirondack Wilderness Co thank you sir
This technique could be used to make a true proper Pen!
Have you seen this? using a pipe for more than smoking ;)
Creating an Ember Think Outside the Box
I smoked a pipe for years and all I ever used was my finger.
Your point being?

I particularly don't like tamping down hot ash with my finger.
Beautiful!
