- James Craig, the Colorado dentist who is accused of killing his wife by poisoning her protein shakes, was in court Thursday and charged with first-degree murder. His former patient and local radio host Steffan Tubbs was in the courtroom, where he said Craig looked “disheveled” and “absolutely horrible.”

I think a lot of people are scared. Scared to start over, scared to be alone, scared they will fail without the other person, or maybe they have abuse issues and are being controlled or doing the controlling. It’s known that when a partner tries to leave their abuser they are most at risk to be killed. I don’t think any of us will ever know the why, and most of us can’t even comprehend their logic even if we tried, people who do this are evil. Some would rather be the victim and pretend their spouse is missing. They get tons of support, physically and financially. Their dirt never has to come out in their minds. The secret dies with the other person and they can go start a new life usually with someone else they’re already dating, or they do it for the money from life support bc money means more then the value of a human being to them. I know I can’t personally comprehend killing someone for any of these reasons, but this is usually what I get from the too many news stories I’ve watched on the topic.

The pictures with his wife were so cute. They had a billion kids together, so it’s hard to believe he would kill her. Most people know they don’t want to be married anymore after 1 or 2 kids.

Your first time in jail tends to have that effect. It’s hard to sleep with all the people screaming and moaning all night, jail doors slamming shut, and the food is absolutely terrible.

I was thinking the same, the dentist we have in our area, this was decades ago before the women's movement, etc, try to grab breasts a leg, kisses,. This happened to me and my friend.
I don't know what it is about the occupation that triggers them.
We only had three dentists so we had to put up with the behavior.
When I lived in Florida the oral surgeon that pulled my tooth shot his girlfriend to death and killed himself. Found out later he had his license suspended several.times too.

How is anyone capable of this? Then you add the facts … the mother of his children, someone he loved .. At what point does one lose all that and decide to end a life? Then after the fact, no conscience at all? The whole plan is to carry on with another woman and life will be great again??
It’s unbelievable, especially considering someone that had it all can lose everything for nothing. Even if he was found not guilty, the cloud of suspicion will follow him forever.

What is really scary is to realise once again, that killers can look like nice genuine kind honest people. You can never be sure of anyone around you, not even your own family. That's very frightening.

Why can't these people just get a divorce? Why does it need to come to killing the spouse? You destroy your kids, your wife's family, your own life, & loose the mistress anyway. I will never understand why anyone would choose to do this to someone they loved and/or had children with. A divorce would have been a much easier & better choice. If it's about money, there is no amount of money that is worth all that you've lost. Your money isn't going to help you in jail.

They were literally still teenagers when they married, maybe the focus should not be on religion and popping out babies as soon as you can. She had no time to even know who she was as her own women. How could she have time to discern who to let into her life if young women are pushed towards marriage as soon as possible. They were Mormon so you know how important making lots of babies for your husband is.

I know as HR Director for a prison system it is difficult to get doctors to work in those systems. In my seven years recruited only one Dentist and he quit after one year.
